Abstract

Tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan yaitu a. Tahap Perencanaan; b. Tahap Pelaksanaan Kegiatan mencakup Sosialisasi, Pelatihan, Penerapan teknologi, Pendampingan dan evaluasi; c. Tahap Evaluasi.

Abstract

High conservation value (NKT) is an assessment of outside conservation areas, including aspects of biodiversity, environmental services, and community social culture. This research aims to identify HCV potential at the village level. This research was conducted in Kedungpomahan Wetan, Kedungpomahan Kulon, and Tlogoguwo, Purworejo Regency. Structured interviews with key people in the village were conducted to obtain information about the HCVs in the village. Remote sensing approaches are also used to confirm potential HCVs. Based on the analysis results, it was found that potential HCVs were HCV 4.1, 4.2, and 5 in the three research villages, HCV 1.2 and 6 were found in Kedungpomahan Wetan and Kedungpomahan Kulon Villages, HCV 1.3 potentially existed in the three villages, and HCV 1.4 potentially existed in Tlogoguwo Village. The biodiversity aspect shows the discovery of endangered species, namely the pangolin (Manis javanica) and the slow loris (Nycticebus javanicus), which have Critically Endangered status. Aspects of environmental services are also found in the three villages, namely as flood control areas and preventing erosion. In the socio-cultural aspect, the area provides basic basic needs for the community, namely clean water and two graves. Knowing the potential of areas with high conservation value at the village level highlights the importance of management at the village level. This can be a basis for input in creating biodiversity management programs by related agencies such as the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and private agencies.

Abstract

The valorization of agro-food waste represents a promising pathway toward sustainable bio-based materials. This study aimed to formulate a fermentation medium from rice panicle straw (merang) and watermelon rind for producing eco-friendly SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast) biofilm. The waste materials were thermally extracted without filtration to retain active solids and subsequently fermented with lactic acid bacteria for 14 days. The fermentation broth was enriched with soybean flour as a nitrogen source and Ziziphus mauritiana leaf extract as an antioxidant additive. Phytochemical screening was conducted using colorimetric reactions analyzed through chromaticity coordinates for flavonoids and grayscale intensity for alkaloids. SCOBY growth was evaluated by measuring biofilm thickness, wet and dry weight, tensile strength, and elongation at break. The results revealed that the combination of these residues provided sufficient nutrients and bioactive compounds to support SCOBY development. The best treatment produced a biofilm with 4.51 mm thickness, 17.49 g wet weight, 3.86 g dry weight, 43.11 MPa tensile strength, and 6.66% elongation. Colorimetric evaluation showed a red chromaticity spectrum for flavonoid presence (dominant wavelength 620 – 625 nm, purity 81.04%), and a clear white grayscale range (220 – 240) for alkaloids. In conclusion, this formulation offers a simple, low-cost approach to converting agricultural waste into functional biofilms. Further investigations are recommended to evaluate the shelf life and potential of liquid SCOBY as a plant immunomodulator and biofilm as organic packaging.

Abstract

Abstract Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a horticultural plant which is widely used as a kitchen spice and as an ingredient in traditional medicine. This research aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer doses and cow manure doses on the growth and yield of shallots. The research used a Complete Randomized Block Design (RAKL) with two factors, namely the dose of liquid organic fertilizer (0 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml per plant) and the dose of cow manure (0, 5, 10, 15 tons/ha), with three replications so that there were 12 treatment combinations. The results of the research showed that applying liquid organic fertilizer had an effect on plant height and fresh stover weight, but had no effect on dry stover weight. Liquid organic fertilizer also affects the number of tubers and tuber weight per plant, but has no effect on tuber diameter. Cow manure affects plant height, number of leaves, weight of fresh stover, as well as crop yields such as number of tubers, tuber weight and tuber diameter. The combination of liquid organic fertilizer and cow manure had an effect on the number of leaves and weight of fresh stover, but had no effect on plant height, dry stover weight and tuber yield. The best combination was obtained in the treatment of 20 ml liquid organic fertilizer and 15 tons/ha of cow manure (G2S3).
