Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts at the elementary school level is often a challenge due to the abstract nature of the material and the lack of learning approaches that are appropriate to the stage of students' cognitive development. This urgency demands innovation in the application of contextual and adaptive learning models. This article aims to review and analyze the effectiveness of various relevant mathematics learning models applied in elementary schools, especially in the material of flat shapes, through literature studies and empirical reviews. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a literature review approach, referring to theoretical sources and the latest research results. The results of the study show that models such as Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL), Problem- Based Learning (PBL), and Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) can significantly improve students' conceptual understanding, engagement, and critical thinking skills. In conclusion, the development of effective learning models requires systemic support from teachers, schools, and policy makers. This study recommends the need to strengthen teacher competence and cross-sector collaboration to support meaningful and sustainable mathematics learning innovations.

Abstract

Graf planar merupakan salah satu objek kajian fundamental dalam teori graf yang memiliki peranan penting dalam pengembangan matematika murni maupun penerapannya pada ilmu komputer dan rekayasa sistem. Seiring dengan meningkatnya kebutuhan akan efisiensi komputasi dan pemodelan sistem kompleks, penelitian mengenai graf planar terus berkembang baik dari sisi teoritis maupun aplikatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara terfokus tren, fokus kajian, dan arah pengembangan penelitian graf planar berdasarkan sepuluh artikel ilmiah terpilih yang terindeks Scopus dan Sinta pada periode 2013–2024. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur kualitatif dengan instrumen utama berupa lembar analisis dokumen yang memuat aspek topik penelitian, metode, kontribusi teoretis, serta aplikasi yang dibahas. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penelusuran basis data jurnal ilmiah dan seleksi artikel berdasarkan kriteria relevansi dan kebaruan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kajian graf planar saat ini terkonsentrasi pada empat arah utama, yaitu peningkatan efisiensi algoritme embedding dan branch-decomposition, generalisasi teorema klasik seperti Euler dan Kuratowski, pengembangan graf planar dalam kerangka fuzzy dan neutrosophic, serta penerapannya dalam optimasi tata letak sistem elektronik (VLSI) dan visualisasi data. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa riset graf planar telah mengalami pergeseran signifikan dari kajian teoretis murni menuju pendekatan multidisipliner yang berorientasi pada pemecahan masalah nyata dalam era komputasi modern.

Abstract

Systematic literature review (SLR) ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perkembangan mutakhir dalam aplikasi, hubungan teoritis, dan inovasi pemodelan Distribusi Probabilitas Diskrit menggunakan korpus sembilan artikel jurnal yang terfokus pada Distribusi Binomial, Poisson, Hipergeometrik, serta variasinya. Analisis tematik yang mendalam mengidentifikasi tiga domain penelitian krusial: 1) Aplikasi Klasik, yang menunjukkan relevansi model dasar dalam mengukur probabilitas keberhasilan di sektor pendidikan, kualitas layanan, dan pengendalian produksi; 2) Validasi Teoritis dan Praktis Aproksimasi Antar Distribusi, yang membahas konvergensi menuju Distribusi Normal dan dampaknya pada acceptance sampling (sampling penerimaan); dan 3) Pengembangan Model Mixed Poisson Baru untuk mengatasi masalah overdispersion pada data hitungan (count data). Temuan kunci menunjukkan bahwa model Poisson standar yang mengasumsikan equidispersion (rata-rata sama dengan varians) semakin tidak memadai untuk data frekuensi klaim asuransi dan data radiasi. Hal ini mendorong penciptaan model-model yang lebih fleksibel, seperti Distribusi Poisson-Darna dan Distribusi Mixed Poisson Transmuted Weighted Exponential, yang memberikan kecocokan superior dalam pemodelan data kompleks di dunia nyata.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the addition and subtraction arithmetic skills of second-grade elementary school students, identify the factors causing learning difficulties, and describe teachers’ efforts to improve students’ numeracy skills. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were obtained through documentation study and analysis of relevant learning sources, including lesson documents, student evaluation results, and academic references. Data were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that 71.4% of students (20 out of 28) were able to complete simple addition without the carrying technique, with an average score of 82.5. However, only 46.4% were able to correctly perform column addition with carrying, and only 39.3% could complete column subtraction with borrowing, indicating a significant gap between simple and column operations. The main difficulties stemmed from three interconnected factors: weak understanding of place value concepts, low learning motivation exacerbated by conventional teaching methods, and insufficient parental support at home. Teachers’ efforts included the use of concrete manipulative media, structured remedial programs that resulted in an average score improvement of 12 points, and interactive game-based learning activities. These findings suggest that innovative, student-centered, and sustainable learning strategies are essential to optimize elementary students’ arithmetic competence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perception of grade 2 elementary school students towards mathematics learning from the cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. The research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The subject of the study was a grade 2 student at a public elementary school in West Lombok Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and student perception questionnaires. The data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that most students have a positive perception of mathematics learning if the material is delivered in a concrete, contextual, and fun manner. On the cognitive dimension, students understand mathematics as a useful subject in everyday life, although some of the material is still considered difficult. In the affective dimension, students show a sense of joy when learning using games and interesting media, but some students still experience anxiety when facing problems that are considered complicated. In the conative dimension, students with positive perceptions tend to be more active in learning mathematics. Factors that affect student perception include teachers' teaching methods, the use of learning media, and family support. The findings of the study confirm the importance of learning mathematics that is concrete, interactive, and in accordance with the developmental characteristics of elementary school students in the lower grades.

Abstract

Pewarnaan graf memiliki potensi besar sebagai inovasi dalam pembelajaran matematika karena dapat menghubungkan konsep abstrak dengan representasi visual yang mudah dipahami. Melalui aktivitas pewarnaan, siswa dilatih berpikir logis dan sistematis dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan kombinatorika dan optimasi. Namun, kajian mengenai penerapan konsep pewarnaan graf dalam pendidikan matematika masih terbatas dan belum dianalisis secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tren dan perkembangan penelitian tentang pewarnaan graf dalam pendidikan matematika pada periode 2019–2025. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan menganalisis 20 artikel hasil seleksi dari 65 jurnal nasional terindeks SINTA. Analisis difokuskan pada desain penelitian, subjek, topik, instrumen, dan teknik analisis data yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif paling dominan digunakan untuk menganalisis pemahaman konsep siswa dan efektivitas penerapan metode pewarnaan graf. Kajian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memperluas pemahaman mengenai penerapan konsep pewarnaan graf sebagai pendekatan inovatif dalam pembelajaran matematika serta menjadi dasar bagi pengembangan metode dan penelitian lanjutan di bidang ini.

Abstract

Learning difficulties are one of the problems that students often experience in the biology learning process, especially in abstract and complex materials such as the human nervous system. Less than optimal understanding of concepts can have an impact on low student learning outcomes and hinder the achievement of learning goals. This study aims to analyze students' learning difficulties in understanding the concept of nervous system material in humans at MAS Hajijah Amalia Sari for the 2024 academic year. This study uses a quantitative approach with the support of qualitative data. The subject of the study was 25 students in grade XI of MAS Hajijah Amalia Sari. Data collection techniques are carried out through concept comprehension tests, interviews, and documentation. The concept comprehension test is prepared based on seven indicators of concept comprehension, namely interpreting, giving examples, grouping, summarizing, drawing inferences, comparing, and explaining. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively to determine the level of students' understanding of concepts and the form of learning difficulties experienced. The results showed that the level of students' conceptual understanding of nervous system material was in the medium category with an overall average score of 60. Indicators provide examples and interpret are in the good category, while indicators summarize, draw inferences, compare, and explain are in the sufficient category and indicate a more dominant level of difficulty. Students' learning difficulties are influenced by various internal factors, such as low high-level thinking skills, uneven learning motivation, and differences in students' initial abilities. In addition, external factors such as limited learning media, practicum facilities, and learning methods that are still dominated by lectures also affect students' understanding of concepts. Based on these findings, improvement efforts are needed through the application of more innovative learning methods, the use of visual and audiovisual media, and student-centered learning to improve conceptual understanding and reduce students' learning difficulties in human nervous system materials.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of student learning independence in the learning process, which is indicated by the lack of initiative, self-confidence, discipline, and responsibility of students in learning. In addition, the low awareness of students in utilizing digital media or technology also causes limited interaction between teachers and students. This shows that the use of digital learning media is not fully effective in increasing student learning independence, because students' self-awareness in managing time, responsibility, and motivation for independent learning still need to be improved. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of digital learning media on student learning independence in the excretory system material. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study was all 72 students of class XI MIA 1 and 2, and the sample used was also 72 students of class XI MIA 1 and 2. The data collection technique used a learning independence questionnaire, which consisted of 25 pretest and posttest statements. The data obtained were then analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 application for windows. Based on the results of the Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) test, the effectiveness value obtained was 0.001 < 0.05. It can be concluded that digital learning media such as learning videos provide effectiveness towards the learning independence of grade XI high school students in biology subjects. This shows that the use of digital learning media such as learning videos has a positive effect and can improve students' independent learning abilities, increase initiative and creativity, and facilitate students to have a better understanding of the learning concepts taught.

Abstract

This study was conducted to improve the understanding of physics concepts of grade XI-7 students of SMA Negeri 2 Sibolga through the application of the problem based learning (PBL) learning model supported by the use of student waorksheets (LKPD) on static flui material. This study applied th classroom action research (CAR) method which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of the stage of planning, action implementation, observation sheets and test to measure conceptual understanding. The results of the study showed a gradual increase in the level of learning completion, namely from 13% in the pre-cycle I, 61.29% in the first meeting of cycle II, and reaching 82% in the second meeting of cycle II with an average value above 75. This finding proves that the use of the PBL model assisted by LKPD is able to significantly increase student’s activeness, involvement, and understanding of physics concepts when compared to conventional learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematika siswa akibat pembelajaran yang masih didominasi metode konvensional serta belum optimalnya pemanfaatan media pembelajaran interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Elektronik (E-LKPD) berbantuan Liveworksheets yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas X di SMAN 1 Padang Bolak Julu pada materi barisan dan deret aritmetika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas lembar validasi ahli, angket respons guru dan peserta didik, serta tes pemahaman konsep matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E-LKPD yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria sangat valid berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi (90,66%), ahli media (87,14%), dan ahli bahasa (100%). Tingkat kepraktisan juga berada pada kategori sangat praktis berdasarkan respons guru (96%) dan peserta didik (90,02%). Efektivitas E-LKPD ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa dari 56 pada pretest menjadi 88,6 pada posttest dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,74 yang termasuk kategori tinggi. Hasil uji normalitas Shapiro–Wilk menunjukkan data pretest dan posttest berdistribusi normal, sedangkan hasil uji Paired Sample t-Test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi kurang dari 0,001 (p < 0,05), sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa E-LKPD berbantuan Liveworksheets efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa melalui pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, terstruktur, dan berpusat pada peserta didik sesuai dengan karakteristik Kurikulum Merdeka. This study was motivated by students’ low mathematical conceptual understanding caused by the dominance of conventional teaching methods and the limited use of interactive learning media. The purpose of this study was to develop a Liveworksheets-assisted Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) that is valid, practical, and effective in improving the mathematical conceptual understanding of tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Padang Bolak Julu on the topic of arithmetic sequences and series. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and a mathematical conceptual understanding test. The findings revealed that the developed E-LKPD met the criteria of being highly valid based on evaluations from material experts (90.66%), media experts (87.14%), and language experts (100%). The practicality level was also categorized as very practical based on teacher responses (96%) and student responses (90.02%). The effectiveness of the E-LKPD was demonstrated by an increase in the students’ average score from 56 on the pretest to 88.6 on the posttest, with an N-Gain score of 0.74, which falls into the high category. The results of the Shapiro–Wilk normality test indicated that both the pretest and posttest data were normally distributed, while the Paired Sample t-Test yielded a significance value of less than 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. These findings suggest that the Liveworksheets-assisted E-LKPD is effective in enhancing students’ mathematical conceptual understanding through a more interactive, structured, and student-centered learning process in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum.
