Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the feasibility of research instruments that will be used in developing a design for a competency training model for residential construction workers that has local wisdom values. The research method, namely analyzing the validity and reliability of research instruments, aims to determine the level of validity of research instruments before they are used to describe the implementation of learning. Analysis of validation results was carried out using quantitative methods by providing assessments by 6 experts or experts. The research results show that the instruments used in the research on the competency training model for residential construction workers which have local wisdom values obtained a mean value of > 0.90 including very high validity and reliability which shows that these instruments are suitable for use.

Abstract

This research aims to present a diversified Career Path Progression (CPP) model that enhances the competence of Makassar Aviation Polytechnic students by helping them recognize their own abilities. The diversified self-assessment model includes various indicators applied to students. Makassar Aviation Polytechnic students require work experience, English proficiency, computer skills, and other soft skills to excel in the workforce, beyond their academic degrees. However, the institution has not optimally provided these skills, such as computer training, English proficiency, academic writing, and job interview processes, which are essential for the job market. Consequently, the career center's role at Makassar Aviation Polytechnic is crucial for offering additional training to prepare students for the workforce. This research addresses the shortcomings of existing CPP models, such as the absence of talent mapping to identify actual talents and competencies. The new CPP model, detailed comprehensively in the research framework, includes stages like problem identification, model design, pilot testing, revision, and operational trials.The study's results indicate that the CPP model positively affects the career maturity of cadets at Makassar Aviation Polytechnic, measured through attitudes and competencies. Alumni with better understanding and skills in these areas tend to have more job opportunities.

Abstract

Students with intellectual disabilities require special attention in learning to overcome conceptual and procedural challenges. This study aimed to examine the impact of a STEM-integrated vocational program on the comprehension abilities of students with mild intellectual disabilities. Using a quasi-experimental design, the research involved 50 purposively selected students at SLB Negeri Pembina Yogyakarta. The intervention group received STEM-integrated instruction, while the control group followed conventional vocational learning. The results indicated that although the proportion of students achieving scores above the Minimum Competency Criteria did not increase significantly, there was a significant improvement in comprehension abilities among the experimental group compared to the control group. These findings suggest that integrating STEM approaches into vocational education can effectively enhance comprehension skills, supporting more adaptive and inclusive learning outcomes for students with intellectual disabilities. Siswa dengan disabilitas intelektual memerlukan perhatian khusus dalam belajar untuk mengatasi tantangan konseptual dan prosedural. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dampak program kejuruan terintegrasi STEM terhadap kemampuan pemahaman siswa dengan disabilitas intelektual ringan. Menggunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental, penelitian ini melibatkan 50 siswa yang dipilih secara sengaja di SLB Negeri Pembina Yogyakarta. Kelompok intervensi menerima instruksi terintegrasi STEM, sementara kelompok kontrol mengikuti pembelajaran kejuruan konvensional. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa meskipun proporsi siswa yang mencapai skor di atas Kriteria Kompetensi Minimum tidak meningkat secara signifikan, ada peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan pemahaman di antara kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa mengintegrasikan pendekatan STEM ke dalam pendidikan kejuruan dapat secara efektif meningkatkan keterampilan pemahaman, mendukung hasil belajar yang lebih adaptif dan inklusif bagi siswa dengan disabilitas intelektual.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) knowledge in civil engineering laboratories, focusing on the effectiveness of OHS training in improving awareness, knowledge, and practical skills among laboratory users. The research method employed a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative) through surveys, observations, and interviews with laboratory users. The results revealed that before the training, the average OHS knowledge level was only 40%, with major issues such as a lack of understanding of chemical risks (40%), improper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (35%), and the absence of clear emergency procedures (50%). After the training, there was a significant increase in OHS knowledge to 75%, along with an improvement in practical skills from 25% to 65%. The training evaluation showed a participant satisfaction rate of 80%, with training objectives such as increased awareness, knowledge, and skills being well achieved. However, challenges such as budget constraints, time limitations, and a lack of OHS experts remain obstacles. This study concludes that regular and structured OHS training is highly effective in improving occupational health and safety in civil engineering laboratories. Recommendations include enhancing training materials, allocating specific budgets, and establishing an OHS team to ensure the sustainability of OHS implementation

Abstract

Steep slopes are typically formed on residual soil with deep groundwater levels; hence, the slopes are in the unsaturated zone. Therefore, in analyzing the stability of steep slopes, it is necessary to consider the properties of unsaturated soil. The main property of unsaturated soil is the Water Retention Curve (SWCC), which describes the relationship between matric suction and soil moisture content. Many methods are available to determine the SWCC of a soil, such as laboratory and field tests, as well as empirical equations. Laboratory testing is considered the best method for determining the SWCC. However, the laboratory work involved in the determination of SWCC is tedious; thus, several models have been developed by researchers to obtain SWCC. This study compares SWCC obtained based on the results of laboratory testing using an Osmotic Tensiometer assisted by soil shrinkage measurements using a 3-D scanner, and the SWCC obtained using the empirical equation proposed by Zapata for plastic soil based on the percentage of particles passing the No. 200 sieve and the soil plasticity index.   The soil samples were retrieved from a location in the Simpang Meo region in South Sumatra. Air entry value for the SWCC was obtained both graphically and deterministically. Both methods resulted in a lower air entry value (AEV) for the Zapata equation as compared to the osmotic tensiometer test. A lower AEV indicates that lower suction is required for water to enter the soil pores.  Therefore, analysis of rainfall infiltration and slope stability using SWCC curves estimated from the Zapata equation could result in later saturation of soil, hence a slightly higher factor of safety

Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1) assessment of the needs of WBL learning model development and 2) the effectiveness of the WBL model to improve electrical measurement skills. Data collection techniques through interview and questionnaire methods. The research approach is development research (R&D) with the concept of Thiagarajan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The data were analyzed with descriptive, qualitative and inferential statistics. This research is a qualitative descriptive research by analyzing the material needs for the development of learning models. The results of the study were in the form of WBL model learning products on TBU cadet electrical measurement practices that were feasible and effective: 1) the need for professional identity, aspects of personal knowledge in metacognitive competence contributed the most to the achievement of electrical measurement skills, and 2) test results in the TBU IX experimental class group with effective WBL model learning compared to the results o f the TBU X control class group through traditional learning.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries prone to natural disasters, one of which is an earthquake that causes impacts caused by the disaster event in the form of losing jobs, homes, and even beloved family members. An earthquake disaster occurred in 2018 in Lombok and was centered in North Lombok Regency, one of the affected areas was Pansor Village both from social and economic aspects. The earthquake caused various kinds of losses such as property losses, socio-economic, environmental damage, loss of human life and so on, so in this case Pansor Village was used as an object of study in community service. The implementation of the program follows the schedule set by LPPM University of Mataram. Activities are focused on program implementation that focuses on communication and observation methods such as the socialization of earthquake disaster mitigation which aims to provide information and knowledge of the importance of always being prepared for the arrival of earthquake disasters. early marriage socialization aims to provide direction on the dangers of early marriage and conduct banana processing workshops so that they are of high selling value which aims to develop raw materials into high-value production materials. With these activities, it is expected that the community will be able to develop raw materials into production materials. Implementation of the community empowerment program is carried out by providing counseling and training. Counseling is given using the lecture method carried out by the presenter and training by demonstrating the actions that have been conveyed in real life. The results obtained from this activity were that the knowledge and skills of the training participants increased, the increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants was because the participants directly demonstrated the material that had been delivered through the simulation session. In general, this activity can be said to be successful.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi keuangan (financial technology) dan peningkatan pemahaman keuangan membuka peluang besar bagi pelaku ekonomi kreatif (Ekraf) untuk memperkuat keberlanjutan keuangan. Namun, di subsektor kuliner industri kreatif di Kabupaten Bangkalan, penggunaan fintech dan tingkat literasi keuangan masih relatif rendah, sementara inovasi bisnis belum dimaksimalkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh teknologi keuangan dan literasi keuangan terhadap keberlanjutan keuangan dengan inovasi bisnis sebagai variabel mediasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang dilakukan dengan cara survei, yaitu dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 100 pelaku Ekraf di sektor kuliner, termasuk produsen dan penjual petis serta produk olahan kerupuk ikan. Purposive sampling digunakan sebagai teknik sampling untuk memilih responden, dan 29 indikator yang mewakili setiap variabel yang diteliti digunakan untuk menyusun instrumen penelitian. Metode Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) digunakan untuk mengolah data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknologi keuangan memiliki dampak yang signifikan dan positif terhadap inovasi usaha dan keberlanjutan keuangan. Selain itu, keberlanjutan keuangan dipengaruhi secara positif dan signifikan oleh literasi keuangan, namun inovasi bisnis dipengaruhi secara negatif dan tidak signifikan. Sementara itu, inovasi bisnis tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap keberlanjutan keuangan, sehingga tidak terdapat peran mediasi inovasi bisnis dalam hubungan antara fintech dan literasi keuangan terhadap keberlanjutan keuangan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan penggunaan fintech dan pemahaman literasi keuangan dapat memperkuat ketahanan finansial pelaku Ekraf, sementara inovasi bisnis meskipun penting untuk daya saing belum terbukti secara langsung meningkatkan keberlanjutan finansial pada sampel ini. Rekomendasi yang diajukan mencakup penguatan program edukasi keuangan, penyediaan akses fintech yang lebih mudah digunakan, serta dukungan pendanaan agar inovasi dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap ketahanan keuangan usaha.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mendorong transformasi sistem keamanan lingkungan menuju konsep keamanan cerdas berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) dan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI). Kelurahan Manuruki sebagai salah satu wilayah padat penduduk di Kota Makassar menghadapi tantangan dalam menjaga keamanan lingkungan akibat keterbatasan teknologi dan rendahnya partisipasi masyarakat. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan menerapkan sistem keamanan lingkungan cerdas berbasis IoT dan AI untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pengawasan dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap keamanan digital. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei kebutuhan, perancangan sistem keamanan berbasis IoT dan AI, pelatihan masyarakat, serta evaluasi hasil implementasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan efektivitas keamanan hingga 55%, percepatan respon terhadap insiden, serta meningkatnya partisipasi masyarakat. Penerapan sistem ini terbukti mampu menjadi solusi keamanan lingkungan yang efisien, cerdas, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to design and develop a collaborative learning model that integrates coding activities and the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) within technical vocational education as an effort to strengthen students’ twenty-first-century competencies. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach consisting of five core phases: needs analysis, model design, expert validation, limited classroom implementation, and effectiveness evaluation. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, classroom observations, and assessments of students’ competency achievements. The findings indicate that the developed model effectively enhances essential learner competencies, including digital literacy, creative problem-solving, critical thinking, communication abilities, and team collaboration skills. The integration of coding and AI supports learners in deepening their technical understanding, particularly in basic programming, logical analysis, data processing, and the application of intelligent systems to complete project-based tasks. Results from the needs analysis reveal a clear disparity between students’ existing competencies and the technological skills required by industry, reinforcing the necessity of a learning model that combines computational skills with strong collaborative practices. Expert validation provided constructive input regarding the feasibility of the model structure, the suitability of assessment instruments, and the relevance of AI integration within the vocational context. Limited implementation demonstrated measurable improvements in students’ performance, especially in designing technical solutions using coding and operating AI features such as automation, data classification, and intelligent recommendation systems. The final evaluation confirms that the model does not only strengthen learners’ technical capability but also fosters active, contextual, and industry-relevant learning experiences. The integration of this learning model is considered a strategic initiative for addressing the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0. The developed model is recommended for broader application and further enhancement within adaptive vocational curricula responsive to future technological advancements. This research contributes significantly to vocational institutions by offering an innovative digital technology based instructional framework.
