Abstract

Mathematics until today is still considered a difficult subject so that it needs to think about appropriate strategies to encourage students to be able to regulate themselves in learning this subject. This study aimed to test empirically the role of classroom management and mastery goal orientation towards self-regulated learning. The participants of the study were 177 students of state high schools in Sleman, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The scales used were self-regulation of mathematics learning scale, classroom management scale, and mastery goal orientation scale. The data analysis using two-predictor regression analysis showed that classroom management and mastery goal simultaneously played a significant role by 68.7% (R2=0.687, F (2.177) =191.243, p<0.01). Classroom management predicted self-regulation (β= -0.130, p < 0.01), and so did mastery goal (β= 0.878, p < 0.01). Based on the results of this study, it could be concluded that self-regulation in learning Mathematics can be determined through classroom management and mastery goals concurrently.

Abstract

Low adherence to ARV treatment in people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) can lead to drug resistance, increased transmission, and worsen the condition of PLWHA due to insufficient HIV suppression in the body, ultimately increasing HIV-related mortality. Therefore, adherence to ARV treatment is crucial. This study aims to explore the social support among PLWHA and its impact on ARV treatment adherence. The databases used include Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate, Elsevier, and PubMed, based on articles published in the last 8 years, primary research articles, and written in Indonesian or English, with the research conducted in Indonesia. The literature review of 14 articles indicates that social support among PLWHA can significantly affect adherence to ARV treatment in Indonesia. In conclusion, PLWHA is more likely to adhere to ARV treatment with adequate social support from fellow PLWHA.

Accordingly, the use of a self-esteem assessment instrument with robust psychometric qualities is essential to support effective self-management among individuals with diabetes mellitus. This study aims to evaluate the psychometric characteristics of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale by estimating its construct validity through confirmatory factor analysis and assessing reliability using McDonald's omega. One hundred and twenty individuals diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, receiving care at primary health centers in Yogyakarta City, participated in this study. Data were collected using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. The estimation of validity and reliability was conducted using the JAMOVI software. Results show nine items of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale demonstrate acceptable validity and reliability for measuring self-esteem among patients with diabetes mellitus. Consequently, the scale may be appropriately applied in diabetes management at primary health care settings.

Participants completed the Indonesian version of the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, Psychological Well-being Scale, and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale. The results show resilience has a significant negative correlation with depression; the higher the resilience, the lower the depression will be. Moreover, the mediation analysis shows that psychological well-being fully mediated the relationship between resilience and depression among Muslim students. The relationship between psychological well-being and depression in Muslim students who were participants in this research can be explained using the dual continua mental health paradigm. Participants tend to have either a high level of psychological well-being and depression or low levels of psychological well-being and depression.

Abstract

Career literacy is an important factor that supports individuals in setting career goals and making career decisions. To assess the level of individuals’ career literacy, a valid measurement that can describe the true literacy level is needed. However, so far there are no tools to assess career literacy levels among adolescents in Indonesia. The study aims to validate the behavioural indicators of a career literacy scale for Indonesian adolescents. The research involved five experts in career development and psychometry. The data collected through the questionnaire contains 50 behavioural indicators of the career literacy scale that was analyzed through V Aiken’s formula. The results revealed that all indicator have V coefficient ranging from 0.40 – 1.00. The 24 selected indicators consist of three indicators in each aspect of the concepts dimension and five indicators in each aspect of the skills dimension as the indicators of the Indonesian Career Literacy Scale. Therefore, the career literacy construct identified in a study in USA is also relevant for Indonesians and can be used in developing the Indonesian Career Literacy Scale.
