Abstract

This study aims to examine the dynamics of the labor in the fisheries sector in Lamongan Regency. Factors influencing youth labor interest in the fisheries sector, and formulating policies to attract youth to work in the fisheries sector. The analytical method used is logit regression analysis. The results of this study indicated that the variable that has a significant effect on youth's decision to be involved in the fisheries sector or not is the non-fishing income variable. Where if non-fishery income is above the city/district minimum wage, respondents will tend to choose to work outside of fisheries, and vice versa. In order to attract youth workers to work in the fisheries sector, the thing that can be done is to make the results obtained from this field beyond other fields. Therefore, one thing that policy makers can do is about determining the price of fishery output and input, because these two variables are beyond the control of farmers. So, with high output prices and low input prices, the income of farmers in the fisheries sector will be higher and it is hoped that it will attract young workers to choose this sector.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the technical efficiency, allocative, cost and scale of the fisheries processing industry in Indonesia. The data used is cross-sectional data for the Indonesian Manufacturing Industry which was collected in the annual survey by the Central Statistics Agency/BPS Indonesia in 2017 registered with the KBLI’s code 10211 - 10219. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a nonparametric method in operations research and economics for boundary estimation production. It is used to measure the productive efficiency of the decision-making unit (DMU) empirically. The inputs to the fisheries production system are capital, labor, materials, land and energy. While the output is production. The results showed that West Sumatra, Lampung, West Java, East Java, Maluku and North Maluku had high efficiency values in technical efficiency, but West Java and East Java were low in allocative efficiency and cost efficiency. However, nationally, the value of allocative efficiency and cost efficiency is still low. Therefore, all input efficiency still needs to be improved, in order to reduce production costs. In addition, the industry must make improvements by enhancing management capabilities and allocative efficiency.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the amount of asset costs, total production costs and vannamei shrimp farming income which will later be calculated by calculating the financial feasibility analysis at the Tuban Installation, East Java. The method used is a quantitative descriptive analysis method with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, active participation and discussion, searching for literature and documentation of activities. The results of this study indicate that the results of financial calculations by stocking 30,000,000 Naupli larvae require a production cost of IDR 59,315,194 for rearing them from Naupli stage to post larval stage, total income of IDR 101,145,000, net profit of IDR 41,829. 806 has a profit rate of 70%, profitability = 17% (less efficient because <25%), R/C = 1.7 (feasible because > 1), BEP price (Rp) = Rp 8 and production BEP = 3,954,346 tails. But in practice it needs to be improved because in calculating profitability it is at <25%, which means it is less efficient. So that in order for these activities to have profitability above 25%, it is necessary to improve efficiency in terms of enhancing production facilities and means

Abstract

Seaweed production often experiences fluctuations, with one of the recurring challenges faced by farmers being the suboptimal utilization of available production factors, which in turn impacts production output. The aim of this study is to analyze the level of technical efficiency and the technology gap in seaweed production across three districts in East Java: Sumenep, Banyuwangi, and Situbondo. This research utilizes primary data in a cross-sectional format during the 2023/2024 seaweed cultivation season in the aforementioned districts. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data on the inputs and outputs used in production. The Meta-Frontier Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method was applied to measure the technical efficiency of seaweed production in each research area. Based on the results of the technical efficiency analysis, the areas with efficiency scores of 1 (fully efficient) were as follows: Sumenep District (63.33%), Banyuwangi District (40%), and Situbondo District (23.33%). More than 50% of the Decision-Making Units (DMUs) in Sumenep have achieved perfect efficiency (TE = 1), whereas the other two districts have not reached 50% efficiency among their DMUs. Furthermore, the average technical efficiency across the DMUs in the three study locations is 85.3%, indicating that these DMUs can still improve their technical efficiency by up to 14.7%. The average Total Gap Ratio (TGR) shows low variability, although differences still exist. This suggests that the three study areas implement varying production practices, methods, and have different resource availability. However, Banyuwangi District has the highest TGR value among the three study locations, approaching the threshold of 1. This indicates a relatively low technology gap in this area.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of fishermen's income on improving the economy of coastal communities in Weru Village, Paciran, Lamongan. Quantitative methods were applied through a survey of 86 fishermen through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence of fishermen's income on the community's economy (β = 0.259; p < 0.05). Every 1 unit increase in fishermen's income increased the community's economy by 0.259 units. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.675 indicated that 67.5% of the variation in community economic improvement was explained by fishermen's income. The implication is that despite its significant influence, sustainable policies are needed for optimization through: Technology-based empowerment; Diversification of fisheries businesses; Strengthening the marketing of catches. These findings emphasize the crucial role of the fisheries sector in driving the coastal economy. Keywords: fishermen's income, coastal economy, linear regression, Weru Village, community empowerment.

Abstract

Snacking at school is a common practice among students. The availability of snacks in the school environment cannot guarantee that all snacks are healthy. This outreach activity was conducted to increase the knowledge and awareness of students at SDN 1 Kadungora, encouraging them to be wiser in choosing the snacks they consume. Data collection methods included a pre-test and post-test. The material was delivered in the form of a lecture accompanied by PowerPoint slides and printed brochures. The outreach results showed an increase in the percentage of students' understanding of the definition of healthy snacks before the outreach: 82.4% before the outreach and 92.8% after the outreach. For healthy drinks, there was a 10.4% increase in knowledge, and 100% of students understood examples of healthy drinks. This indicates that the outreach activity was successful in educating students.

Abstract

This Students' mental health in the school environment is becoming increasingly important. Depression, as a severe mental health disorder, can have a negative impact on students' well-being and academic achievement if it is not detected and treated appropriately and quickly. This service program aims to detect depression in MTs Roudlatul Qur'an students as early as possible to reduce the risk of ongoing depression. This can be done by building a website-based system that students can use to detect depression independently. This system was created to make it easier for students to recognize the early symptoms of depression by selecting the symptoms according to what they are experiencing. With this system, it is hoped that it can prevent depression as early as possible for students and teachers quickly and more efficiently, thereby reducing students who are at risk of experiencing depression. Apart from that, the system provides valuable information for students and teachers to understand depression more deeply and find ways to overcome it. Through this program, it is hoped that awareness of the importance of mental health in the school environment can increase and create a healthier and more supportive learning environment for all students.
