Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung maggot BSF terhadap AST dan ALT broiler. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 24 ekor ayam pedaging (broiler) jantan, dengan empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah (P0) 100% pakan komersial, (P1) pakan komersial ditambahkan 1% tepung belatung/maggot BSF, (P2) pakan komersial ditambahkan 2% tepung belatung/maggot BSF, dan (P3) pakan komersial ditambahkan 3% tepung belatung/maggot BSF. Pengambilan sampel darah melalui vena brachialis. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini dianalisis dengan uji sidik Ragam. Pada penelitian ini nilai AST P0, P1, P2 dan P3 masing-masing adalah 249,17 U/L; 341,17 U/L; 307,83 U/L; 340,17 U/L. Sedangkan nilai ALT P0, P1, P2 dan P3 masing-masing adalah 70,83 U/L; 46,17 U/L; 43,67 U/L; 44,33 U/L. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung maggot BSF berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap AST dan ALT broiler. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu pemberian tepung maggot BSF dapat meningkatkan kadar AST dan menurunkan kadar ALT namun masih dalam kadar yang normal.

Abstract

Tepung belatung Hermetia illucens memiliki kandungan protein 37,31% dan lemak 39,05%, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai pakan tambahan dalam ransum. Sebagai bahan yang kaya dengan protein dan lemak, belatung black soldier fly (BSF) baik pula hubungannya dengan pembentukan sel darah putih (leukosit). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui total leukosit dan diferensial leukosit ayam pedaging yang diberi tepung belatung sebagai pakan tambahan dalam ransum. Sebanyak 24 ekor ayam pedaging jantan digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Ayam pedaging dikelompokkan menjadi empat sesuai dengan perlakuan: perlakuan P0 (kontrol), perlakuan P1 (1% dari pakan komersial), perlakuan P2 (2% dari pakan komersial), dan perlakuan P3 (3% dari pakan komersial). Perlakuan diberikan mulai hari ke-14 sampai hari ke-35. Sampel darah diambil dari vena pectoralis sebanyak 3 mL pada hari ke-36. Jumlah leukosit dan diferensial leukosit dihitung menggunakan auto hematology analyzer. Data yang telah diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam satu arah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan total leukosit 81,92-97,98×103/µL, persentase heterofil 28,50-37,50%, persentase eosinofil 0%, persentase basofil 0%, persentase limfosit 51,67-64,17%, dan persentase monosit 7,33-10,83%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan tepung belatung ke dalam pakan komersial meningkatkan total leukosit, persentase limfosit, dan menekan persentase heterofil ayam pedaging.

Abstract

Penggunaan asam organik sebagai pengganti antibiotik sangat efektif. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui efek pemberian kombinasi asam organik dan anorganik terhadap total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin dan nilai hematokrit broiler. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah P0 adalah broiler yang mendapat pakan tanpa kombinasi asam organik dan anorganik, P1 adalah broiler yang diberi pakan ditambah asam organik dan anorganik 1 g/kg pakan, P2 adalah broiler yang diberi pakan ditambah asam organik dan anorganik 2 g/kg pakan dan P3 adalah broiler yang diberi pakan ditambah asam organik dan anorganik 3 g/kg pakan. Hasil pengamatan dianalisis menggunakan hematology analyser, pemeriksaan sampel dilakukan di Balai Besar Veteriner Denpasar. Sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel darah dari 24 ekor broiler yang diberi perlakuan berbeda. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji sidik ragam. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan hasil bahwa penambahan kombinasi asam organik dan anorganik asam organik dan anorganik tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai packed cell volume atau hematokrit (P>0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian asam organik dan anorganik tidak memengaruhi (mempertahankan) total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai packed cell volume broiler. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian tidak memengaruhi (mempertahankan) total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai packed cell volume broiler.

Abstract

Heat stress in broiler can trigger the emergence of various diseases, affect immune function, increased morbidity and mortality rates. This study aims to determine the effect of betaine with different doses in drinking water on morbidity and mortality. The sample of this study amounted to 1,200 female broilers in the Heri Farm poultry, Palaran Samarinda. The design used in this study was Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4 treatments, P0 (0.0 g/L), P1 (0.5 g/L), P2 (1.0 g/L) dan P3 (2.0 g/L). Morbidity and mortality data were analyzed by Univariate analysis and continued with the Duncan test if the significant difference is (P <0.05). The results showed that the addition of betaine had a significant effect (P <0.05) on reducing mobility and mortality rates. The addition of betaine with 1.0 g/L is the best dose to reduce broiler morbidity and mortality rates, respectively 5.66% and 5.67% toward the controls.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine effect of organic acid and anorganic (Orgacid™) as an acidifier in diet to body weight, feed concumption and feed convertion. The research used 24 pigs landrace male post lactation aged 30 days until 58 days. Feed stuffs used Charoen 550™ Made in PT.Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk. The treatments given were: feed without Orgacid™, combination Orgacid™ 1g/kg feed, combination Orgacid™ 2g/kg feed, combination Orgacid™ 4g/kg feed. Variables measured were body weight, feed concumption, feed convertion. Data were subjected to analysis of variance. The result of the research showed that the addition of Orgacid™ 1g/kg to 4g/kg in feed did not significantly affected (P>0.05) to body weight, feed concumption and feed convertion.

Abstract

Babi merupakan ternak menguntungkan yang banyak dipelihara masyarakat disamping itu salah satu faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan ternak ini adalah gizi dimana salah satunya menggunakan pakan dengan campuran tepung cacing tanah (Lumbricus rubellus) dimana gizi yang baik berpengaruh pada kondisi ternak salah satunya hemoglobin dan indeks eritrosit. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung cacing tanah (Lumbricus rubellus) terhadap kadar hemoglobin dan indeks eritrosit anak babi landrace jantan setelah sapih. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan 24 ekor anak babi landrace jantan setelah sapih. Perlakuan yang diberikan dibagi menjadi empat kelompok masing-masing kelompok kontrol (P0), kelompok dengan pemberikan tepung cacing tanah sebesar 4 g (P1), kelompok dengan pemberikan tepung cacing tanah sebesar 8 g (P2), kelompok dengan pemberikan tepung cacing tanah sebesar 16 g (P3). Penghitungan kadar hemoglobin dan indek eritrosit dilakukan sebelum pemberian tepung cacing tanah (Lumbricus rubellus) dan setelah pemberian dengan rentang waktu satu bulan ini dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh dari pakan yang dicampur tepung cacing tanah. Hasil analisis variasi menunjukkan bahwa kadar hemoglobin setiap kelompok :10,55; 10,83; 13,83; dan 10,93 (g/dL) dan indeks eritrosit MCV 59,45; 61,70; 60,61; dan 59,56 (fL), MCHC 39,56; 39,15; 39,40; dan 38,68 (g/dL). Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan bahwa pemberian tepung cacing tanah berbeda tidak nyata terhadap kadar hemoglobin dan indeks eritrosit. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemberian tepung cacing tanah dalam pakan tidak meningkatkan kadar hemoglobin dan tidak berpengaruh pada indeks eritrosit namun mampu menstabilkan nilainya sehingga masih dalam angka normal.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to know the effect of mineral intake on Balinese cattle that has been fed on four different types of land (rice field, grassland, garden, and forest) towards theleukocytes differential. The research design follows a completely randomized design (CRD) usinga nested pattern on 48 males from Balinese cattle. The cattle were grouped according to four treatments of mineral intake, namely: controls, 2.5 grams, five grams, and 7.5 grams in each type ofland. Furthermore, the blood was taken from the auricularis superficialis vein in the third month after treatment. A blood smear was prepared using the slide method and a sample was stained withGiemsa. The blood smear was examined by leukocytes differential using battlement method with 1000x magnification. Then, the collected data were analyzed using analysis of variance and Cochran test. The research results show that the given treatment of minerals has no change theleukocytes differential. In contrast, the percentage of lymphocytes in the type of garden land haslower than on the type of forest, rice land and grassland, but has no differences the percentage of neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, and monocytes in the four types of land. The conclusion isgiving to a concentration of 7.5 gram does not change the differential leukocyte Bali cattle.

Abstract

The present work was aimed to study the effect of oral treatment of piglets with vitaminand electrolyte at the time of weaning on their morbidity and mortality rates. A number of160 piglets at 28 – 35 days of age were randomly allotted into 4 groups. The control group(P0) received only drinking water whereas the treatment groups were supplied with vitaminand electrolyte (Superfite Forte) for 6 hours a day and for 3 consecutive days at variousdosages; treatment group 1 (P1) received 1 gram/l water, P2: 2 gram/l water and P3: 3gram/l water. Apart from that, drinking water was given ad libitum. Observation andrecording of illness and death was carried out every day from the day of weaning till 21days later. The results showed that treatment with vitamin and electrolyte at 1 – 3 gram/lwater significantly reduced the morbidity and mortality rates. Thus, it is recommended thatpiglets at the time of weaning should be supplied with vitamin and electrolyte in order toreduce the morbidity and mortality rates.

Abstract

Glycyrrhizic acid, which is the active ingredient of Viusid© Pet, is commonly used to enhance the immune response. This study was conducted to determine the effect of Viusid© Pet on macrophage activity and capacity. Thirty-six BALB/c mice were divided into 3 groups. The first group as control was given aquades, the second group was given a dose of Viusid© Pet 0.1 ml, and the third group was given a dose of Viusid© Pet 0.2 ml. All groups were given treatment from the first day until the seventh day. On the eighth day, each mouse was injected intraperitoneally by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The activity and capacity of macrophage cells were calculated from the peritoneal fluid smear by calculating the percentage of phagocytes performing phagocytosis in 100 macrophage cells. The phagocytic capacity was determined by the amount of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria that is phagocytosed by 50 active phagocyte cells. The activity of phagocytosis increases with increasing doses of Viusid © Pet. It was concluded that the highest macrophage activity and capacity was achieved in the treatment group with the dosage of Viusid © Pet 0.2 ml (825.33 ± 291,73). While the activity and the lowest phagocytic capacity of the negative control group (578.08 ± 186.94) was followed by the dose group of 0.1 ml (654.83 ± 266.09).

Abstract

This study aims were to observe the effect of repeated injection of xylazine-ketamine subcutaneously to total erythrocytes, hamoglobin and hamatocrit levels of local dogs. Experimental animals used were 24 local dogs aged 1-2 years with a weight of 10-15 kg. The dogs were divided into three groups. First group as control, while group 2 in xylazine-ketamine combination injection with doses (2 and 10 mg / kg) and group 3 was injected xylazine-ketamine separated, with xylazine dose (2 mg / kg) and ketamine with dose (10 mg / kg) subcutaneously. Blood sampling conducted before anesthesia and post-anesthesia (recovery period) through the femoral vein. Examination of total erythrocyte used Neubauer methods, Sahlimethods used for examination of hamoglobin levels and examination of hematocrit used Microhematocrit methods. The results showed that there was no significant difference to total erythrocytes, haemoglobin and hamatocrit levels in treatment repeated injection of xylazine-ketamine combined or separated with the control group. From these results it can be concluded that repeated injections of ketamine with xilasin-xilasin dose (2 mg / kg) and ketamine (10 mg / kg BW) safety specifications to total erythrocytes, hamoglobin and hamatocrit levels and either used as an anesthetic in dogs.
