Abstract

The interest in learning the Qur'an has started to rise amidst the current era of moral degradation among children and adolescents. Effective Qur'an learning must be adapted to existing conditions. To address the dual global challenges of increasing interest in Qur'an learning and English language education, an integrated method is required. This paper aims to provide an understanding of the importance of Qur'an and English language education using the Al-Muyassar Qur'an learning method. This research employs a literature review method. The results of the study indicate that teaching the Qur'an to young children using the Muyassar method is highly accurate and effective, allowing children to fluently and rhythmically recite the Qur'an from an early age. With the Muyassar method, a teacher is required to extend the time for Qur'an revision (muraja'ah) to strengthen the child's memory retention. While this integrated learning method offers various advantages, it also comes with certain drawbacks. Therefore, further research on this integrated method is necessary.

Abstract

This research examines how the use of learning media influences students' academic performance. A quasi-experimental design utilizing a quantitative approach was applied. The study utilized the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study involved two groups: an experimental class that utilized comic media created with Storyboard That, and a control class that followed traditional teaching methods for comparison. The study utilized a reliable and validated achievement test, administered as both a pretest and a posttest. The findings demonstrated a notable disparity in the learning outcomes between students in the experimental group and those in the control group, supported by a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.023 ≤ 0.05. The average learning score in the experimental class increased significantly from 34.60 to 84.25, while the control class's average rose from 37.39 to 74.72. These findings demonstrate that the application of comic-based learning media using Storyboard That positively influences the improvement of students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of transformational leadership and self-discipline among student leaders of DEMA UNIDA Gontor (Student Executive Board of UNIDA Gontor), an Islamic higher education institution with a pesantren-based environment. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research collected primary data through in-depth interviews with seven student leaders who actively manage organizational programs and responsibilities. Additional observational data were gathered from Leadership training activities and routine organizational meetings to enrich the contextual understanding of Leadership practices and the formation of discipline. The findings reveal that transformational Leadership is consistently reflected through clarity of vision, moral exemplification, encouragement of creativity, and opportunities for members to grow. At the same time, self-discipline emerges as a fundamental mechanism that supports fulfilling organizational duties, particularly through daily planning, prioritization, avoiding procrastination, and consistent time management. The integration of these two elements forms a leadership model that is value-oriented, participatory, and rooted in Islamic principles of amanah and adab. Furthermore, the study highlights that self-discipline not only strengthens organizational effectiveness but also contributes to the character formation of student leaders within the pesantren culture. These findings provide important implications for leadership development in student organizations, emphasizing the need for integrated leadership training that combines vision, role modeling, and structured discipline.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of visual media in improving students’ Arabic language learning based on Edgar Dale's Cone of Experience framework. A descriptive qualitative design with a literature review method was employed. Data were collected from scholarly sources related to visual media, Arabic language learning, and Dale's experiential model. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis, consisting of initial coding, code categorization, and theme development. The results indicate that visual media significantly contribute to simplifying abstract concepts, strengthening memory retention, and increasing students’ motivation in learning Arabic. Its effectiveness becomes more evident when connected to Dale’s Cone of Experience, which highlights visual symbols as an essential stage for bridging abstract ideas with concrete experiences. Overall, this study underscores that visual media not only support students’ comprehension but also enhance the achievement of Arabic language learning objectives.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate H5P-based interactive video media to improve Arabic reading skills (maha>rah al-qira>'ah) among tenth-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ihsan Muhammadiyah Sragen. Employing the ADDIE model, the research followed systematic stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Expert validation yielded high validity (average 4.7/5). The product was tested on 30 students using pre-test, post-test, questionnaires, and observations. Results showed a significant improvement in reading comprehension (t = 12.45, p < 0.001), with mean scores increasing from 58.3 to 82.5. Questionnaire data indicated enhanced motivation (average 4.6/5) and learner autonomy. The integration of text, audio, visuals, and interactive quizzes improved cognitive engagement, in line with Mayer’s Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning and Self-Determination Theory. The study proves that H5P-based media offer an effective, low-cost solution for developing Arabic reading skills and encourages further exploration of its long-term impact.
