Abstract

This community service program aims to train Bogor Islamic Kids Corner (IKC) Kindergarten teachers to develop DIY home project-based learning media for students. This activity involves partners consisting of teachers and students in partner schools. This activity begins with an initial visit to analyze the situation and needs of the local community. From the results of the visit, it was identified and agreed that community service activities (Abdimas) were focused on developing learning media based on the DIY home project considering that teaching and learning activities were still carried out from home (emergency learning). From the results of the implementation of Abdimas activities, it can be reported that from four training sessions with IKC Kindergarten teachers, the teachers have been able to develop and utilize DIY home project-based learning media with students. Both teachers and students were enthusiastic and active in participating in every series of community service activities while still adhering to health protocols.   Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan judul IbM Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis DIY Home Project bagi Guru TK IKC Bogor ini bertujuan melatih guru TK Islamic Kids Corner (IKC) Bogor untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis DIY home project bagi siswa. Kegiatan ini melibatkan mitra yang terdiri dari para guru dan siswa di sekolah mitra. Kegiatan ini dimulai dengan kunjungan awal untuk menganalisis situasi dan kebutuhan masyarakat di lokasi. Dari hasil kunjungan berhasil diidentifikasi dan disepakati bahwa kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) difokuskan pada pengembangan media belajar berbasis DIY home project mengingat kegiatan belajar mengajar masih dilakukan dari rumah (pembelajaran jarak jauh). Dari hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan PkM, dapat dilaporkan bahwa dari empat kali pelatihan dengan para guru TK IKC maka para guru telah mampu mengembangkan dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis DIY home project bersama para siswa. Baik para guru maupun para siswa antusias dan aktif dalam mengikuti setiap rangkaian kegiatan PkM dengan tetap menaati protokol kesehatan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaan hasil pretest dan posttest kemampuan membaca peserta didik, serta menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar peserta didik menggunakan pendekatan Whole Language dan pendekatan komunikatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan analisis data menggunakan uji paired sample t-test data pretest posttest dan uji independent sample t-test.  Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan pembelajaran Whole Language lebih efektif dibanding pendekatan komunikatif terhadap kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran Whole Language lebih direkomendasikan dibanding pendekatan komunikatif terhadap kemampuan membaca dan motivasi belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan guna menganalisis sejauh mana pengaruh literasi digital guru dan lingkungan belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar sebanyak 1778 siswa. Jenis penelitian yang dipergunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan metode korelasi. Hasil penelitian terhadap hail belajar siswa sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Cibereum ini adalah: (1) Literasi digital guru memiliki pengaruh sebesar 47.627 dengan signifikan bernilai 0,000 0,05 yang mengartikan cukup signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa; (2) Lingkungan belajar memiliki pengaruh sebesar sebesar 4.885 dengan signifikan bernilai 0,000 0,05 yang mengartikan cukup signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa; (3). Literasi sdigital guru dan lingkungan belajar berpengaruh cukup signifikan yaitu sebesar 1148.074 dengan probabilitas yakni sig bernilai 0,000 0,05. Sehingga maka lingkungan belajar dan literasi digital guru memiliki pengaruhpada hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Cibeureum. Besarnya pengaruh lingkungan belajar dan literasi digital terhadap hasil belajar, menuntut guru mengembangkan kompetensinya pada bidang teknologi informasi. Sehingga kegiatan pembelajaran menjadi lebih inovatif, kreatif dan modern. Berdasarkan analisis data tersebut maka dapat simpulkan bahwa kemampuan digital guru berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa, maka implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah diperlukan adanya pelatihan khusus guna meningkatkan professional digital guru melalui pelatihan atau workshop.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) explain how the AKM-based recount text formative assessment in class X students' reading skills is developed, 2) describe the validity of AKM-based recount text formative assessment on class X students' reading skills, 3) describe the effectiveness of AKM-based recount text formative assessment in reading skills of class X students. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) model, consisting of three main stages, namely: preliminary study, development and design of the assessment, validation of the assessment sheet. The results of the study describe the process of developing formative assessment through the stages of literature review, needs analysis, drafting, design, testing, revision, and expert validation. The validation process was carried out on question validation and expert validation, the results of the validation of the questions showed a valid, reliable formative assessment, the level of difficulty was in the "Medium" criteria and the differentiating power was in the "Good" criteria. The product validity results were declared according to the content expert validator with an average score of 96.74 on the "Very Good" criterion, the format expert validator with an average score of 92.42 on the "Very Good" criterion, and the linguist validator with an average score average 82.81 on the "Good" criteria. The overall average of the validation aspect is 90.66 in the "Very Good" criterion. The effectiveness of the process is based on student learning outcomes in the 2 trials with an average score of 59.17 and 58.00 respectively which is below the KKM = 70. This means that the formative assessment product does not meet the criteria of effectiveness based on cognitive processes, based on teacher feedback and students on formative assessment sheets the average results of teacher and student feedback were 82.50 and 85.92 respectively in the "Good" criterion so that formative assessment products met the effective criteria.

Abstract

English Writing for Academic Purposes (EWAP) seems daunting for higher education students in the Indonesian context. Genuinely, the ability of EWAP is one of the study skills required in the academic field. Preliminary research has shown that EWAP materials have not been identified based on students’ needs. This study focuses on the students’ need analysis of the EWAP materials, including confirming the quality of the task-based material design that enhances the students’ skills of the EWAP. The study used the educational research and development method, involving non-English learners from a private college in Indonesia. Researchers used the test, the semi-structured interview, and the questionnaire as instruments. The observation was also carried out to describe implementing the task-based material design of the EWAP. The results indicate that students need task-based material as an authentic EWAP material that focuses on learning to communicate through interaction. It also gives them the ability to focus not just on the use of languages but also on the learning process itself. The task-based EWAP materials have a significant influence on the development of students’ writing skills. As a result, this approach is well suited to foster a learning desire to write in a context-approximately as a means of expressing their intentions. Besides, the study’s findings show that students were very enthusiastic about engaging in the learning process.

Abstract

Writing accelerates students' use of the target language, making it an essential part of classroom preparation. Writing skills can be improved through the use of mind mapping. The following are the research's goals:1) to determine whether teaching writing to eighth-graders using mind mapping or peer review is more effective, 2) to determine whether eighth-graders with higher levels of creativity have better writing skills than those with lower levels of creativity, and 3) to determine whether teaching methods and students' creativity interact when teaching writing to eighth-graders. An experimental study with a 2x2 factorial design is this one. This study uses 48 students as samples. In this study, writing and creativity tests are used to collect data. ANOVA and the Tukey test are used to analyze the data. The data analysis revealed that the mind mapping method is more effective than the peer review method for teaching eighth-grade writing. In the eighth grade, students with high creativity have better writing skills than students with low creativity. There is an interaction between teaching techniques and students' creativity in teaching writing in the eighth grade.

Abstract

Pada jenjang pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD), media pembelajaran merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi guru dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran. Salah satu jenis media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik usia anak PAUD adalah media pembelajaran menggambar atau mewarnai. Berangkat dari pemahaman tersebut, program pengabdian masyarakat (PkM) ini bekerjasama dengan Taman Kanak-kanak Islamic Kids Corner (IKC) Bogor dengan melakukan analisis kebutuhan. Hasil identifikasi menyepakati bahwa kegiatan PkM difokuskan pada pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis mewarnai pada media bird house painting kit, windmill coloring, finger family puppet, dan plushie keychain coloring media. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan PkM menunjukkan bahwa dari empat kali pelatihan dengan guru TK IKC, guru sudah mampu mengembangkan dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis mewarnai bersama siswa dengan memanfaatkan media bird house painting kit, windmill coloring, finger family puppet, dan plushie keychain coloring media. Guru dan siswa sangat antusias dan aktif mengikuti setiap rangkaian kegiatan PkM. At the early childhood education (PAUD) level, learning media is crucial for teachers in carrying out the learning process. One type of learning media that fits the age characteristics of PAUD children is drawing or coloring learning media. Departing from this understanding, this community service program (PkM) collaborates with Islamic Kids Corner (IKC) Bogor Kindergarten by conducting a needs analysis. The identification results agreed that PkM activities were focused on developing coloring-based learning media on the bird house painting kit, windmill coloring, finger family puppet, and plushie keychain coloring media. The results of the implementation of PkM activities show that from the four times of training with IKC Kindergarten teachers, the teachers have been able to develop and utilize coloring-based learning media with students by utilizing the bird house painting kit, windmill coloring, finger family puppet, and plushie keychain painting kit media. The teachers and students were enthusiastic and active in participating in each series of PkM activities.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the influence of student learning independence and discipline on the results of learning English class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lala Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu. This research used a quantitative approach of associative type of research. The data analysis technique used multiple linear analysis. The results of the study obtained a calculated F value of 67,673 > Ftabel of 3,099 and the result of a Sig. value is 0.000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between Student Independence (X1) and Learning Discipline (X2) on English Learning Outcomes of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lala, Indragiri Hulu Regency (Y). Based on the results of the coefficient of determination, the result of R Square was 60.3%. This shows that the two free variables consisting of Student Independence and Learning Discipline contributed to influencing student English learning outcomes by 60.37%. Based on this, it is concluded that the better the Student Independence and Learning Discipline, the better the English Learning Outcomes of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lala, Indragiri Hulu Regency.

Abstract

This paper reports the outcomes of a ‘Community Service’ activity related to the integration of technology in English language teaching in Indonesia in the 21st century. The activity was conducted for junior high school English language teachers in Depok District, Indonesia. It outlines the opportunities and challenges faced by teachers in incorporating technology into their teaching and learning processes. Key themes emerging from the activity, include enhancing English language proficiency, increasing engagement and motivation, developing 21st-century skills, cultural exchange and global awareness, as well as the role of teachers and professional development. However, the effectiveness of technology integration heavily relies on the teachers' proficiency, availability of infrastructure, and pedagogical adaptation. The findings of the activity highlight the importance of comprehensive teacher training programs, improvements in educational infrastructure, and a pedagogical shift towards a curriculum more inclusive of technology. Recommendations include enhancing collaboration among stakeholders to support a technology-enriched learning environment to meet the evolving needs of learners in Indonesia.
