Abstract

This study aims to examine the urgency and implementation of the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) approach in elementary science education through the integration of Islamic values as a foundational framework. The research seeks to address common challenges in science learning, such as students’ low science process skills, limited scientific literacy, and weak environmental awareness. The study employed a qualitative descriptive design with an analytical orientation. Data were collected through classroom observations, document analysis, and semi-structured interviews involving teachers and students from elementary schools implementing SETS-based learning. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to ensure analytical rigor, credibility, and validity. The results reveal that integrating Islamic values within the SETS framework enhances students’ conceptual understanding of science, science process skills, and literacy. It also strengthens students’ environmental awareness, scientific reasoning, and positive attitudes toward learning. The SETS model creates meaningful connections between science, technology, environment, and society, aligned with Islamic principles. The findings imply that SETS-based learning integrated with Islamic values can serve as a transformative pedagogical model to improve the quality of elementary science education by nurturing students’ scientific competence, environmental ethics, and spiritual awareness as integral components of holistic education.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman melalui metode pembelajaran saintifik dalam pembelajaran bahasa indonesia di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilakukan oleh penulis di kelas III SDN Harapan, dengan subjek penelitian 36 siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas. PTK dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan selama dua siklus, penulis berkesimpulan bahwa metode saintifik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman, hal tersebut dibuktikan dari hasil pengukuran yang telah dilakukan oleh penulis dengan berdasarkan pada lembar observasi penilaian kemampuan membaca pemahaman maka terlihat pada siklus I hasil kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 73 dengan 23 siswa memiliki nilai di atas KKM dan pada siklus II terdapat kenaikan dimana nilai rata-rata siswa mencapai 81 dan siswa yang memiliki nilai di atas KKM sebanyak 28 orang siswa.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama pada penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran pendidikan pancasila. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar penyelenggaraan pendidikan karakter melalui pembiasaan di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilakukan oleh penulis di kelas I SDN Cikarang, dengan subjek penelitian 16 siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas. PTK dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan selama dua siklus, penulis berkesimpulan bahwa pembiasaan dapat meningkatkan penyelengaraan pendidikan karakter, hal tersebut dibuktikan dari hasil pengukuran yang telah dilakukan oleh penulis dengan berdasarkan pada lembar observasi penilaian pendidikan karakter maka terlihat pada siklus I hasilnya siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 73 dengan 8 siswa memiliki nilai di atas KKM dan pada siklus II terdapat kenaikan dimana nilai rata-rata siswa mencapai 82 dan siswa yang memiliki nilai di atas KKM sebanyak 12 siswa

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti saat pembelajaran matematika di kelas 5 SD Negeri Hegarmanah. Didapatkan bahwa terdapat kecenderungan bahwa siswa yang tidak aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran cenderung tidak memahami materi yang diajarkan. Sehingga peneliti merumuskan suatu hipotesis bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari sikap belajar matematika siswa terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Untuk menguji hipotesis ini, dilakukan penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif yaitu metode analisis regresi. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dan didapatkan sampel penelitian yaitu 30 siswa kelas 5 SD Negeri Hegarmanah. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari sikap belajar matematika siswa terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dapat digambarkan oleh sikap belajar matematika siswa sebesar 63,3% dan sisanya sebesar 36,7% dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel lain di luar variabel penelitian. Dari model regresi yang terbentuk didapatkan bahwa setiap 100% peningkatan sikap belajar matematika siswa akan meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa sebesar 27,2%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Find The Match Word Wall media to improve the early reading skills of elementary school students. This study was conducted at Kadudampit Elementary School, Sukabumi Regency, West Java. Participants in the study were 32 students. The research method used was classroom action research with the Kemmis and Mc Taggart research design model, which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, action and observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used initial reading practice tests, and non-tests in the form of observation, field notes, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was qualitative. The improvement of early reading skills after applying Find The Match Word Wall media was seen from the results of observations of teacher activities, on average, cycle I obtained a score of 75 in the sufficient category and cycle II 83 in the good category. Observations of student activities obtained a score of 72 in the sufficient category in cycle I and 81 in the good category in cycle II, this indicates an improved learning process using word wall media. The percentage of pre-cycle completion was 34%, cycle I was 69%, and cycle II was 81%. And it has been proven that implementing Find the Match Word Word can improve the early reading skills of elementary school students in phase A (first grade). Abstract

This research is motivated by the low initial reading ability of first-grade students at SDN Cibitung. Initial observations show that some students have not been able to recognize letters well, have difficulty combining letters into syllables, and are less motivated in reading activities. The purpose of this study is to improve the initial reading ability of first-grade students at SDN Cibitung through the use of letter puzzle media in Indonesian language learning. The research method used is classroom action research with the Kemmis and McTaggart model which is implemented in two cycles. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 20 first-grade students at SDN Cibitung, consisting of 9 male students and 11 female students. Data collection techniques include observation, initial reading ability tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of this study are the use of letter puzzle media in learning to read the beginning of grade 1 students of SDN Cibitung can create a more active and interesting learning process for students and can improve students' beginning reading skills as seen from the students' learning completeness in the pre-cycle by 35%, increasing to 60% in cycle 1 and reaching cycle 90% in cycle II. Therefore, the conclusion of this study is that letter puzzle media is proven to be able to improve the beginning reading skills of grade 1 students of SDN Cibitung.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of science concepts among fourth-grade students at Tipar State Elementary School, Sukabumi Regency, which is caused by the teacher-centered learning process, which tends to make students passive. This study aims to improve students' understanding of science concepts through the application of experimental methods. The type of research used is Participant Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out collaboratively in two cycles. The research design used is the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model, which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 20 fourth-grade students at Tipar State Elementary School. Data collection techniques used performance tests (practice), observation, field notes, and documentation. The results of the study showed an increase in teacher activity from an average score of 73 (sufficient) in cycle I to 85 (good) in cycle II. Student activity also increased from an average score of 74 (sufficient) in cycle I to 81 (good) in cycle II. The improvement in students' understanding of science concepts is evident in the significant increase in the percentage of classical completion, from 55% (11 students) in cycle I to 80% (16 students) in cycle II. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the experimental method has proven effective in improving students' understanding of science concepts in elementary schools. Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve digital literacy among fourth-grade students through local-wisdom-based learning media at SDN Linggarjati, a remote school in the Kasepuhan Ciptarasa indigenous community, Cikakak, Sukabumi. The school faces limited electricity (3 p.m.–9 a.m. only) and no internet access. The study involved eight students using the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model across two cycles. Learning media consisted of a battery-powered laptop loaded with offline digital content—photographs and documentary videos of the Seren Taun ceremony, communal cooperation activities, and local arts—integrated into Civics (PPKn) lessons on cultural diversity and indigenous identity. Data were collected through observation sheets, self-assessment digital literacy questionnaires, interviews, and reflective journals. Results showed that the average digital literacy score increased from 17.00 (30.36%) in the pre-cycle to 21.50 (38.39%) after Cycle I, and rose sharply to 40.88 (73.00%) after Cycle II. By the end of Cycle II, four of eight students reached the Proficient level and the remaining four reached the Developing level, all having started at the Emerging level. The findings indicate that local-wisdom-based offline digital learning media effectively improves the technical, cognitive, and socio-emotional dimensions of digital literacy even under severe infrastructural constraints, while simultaneously strengthening students' appreciation of their local cultural identity.

Abstract

The early reading skills of first-grade students at Cipaku Public Elementary School are still relatively low due to a lack of variety in teaching methods and media. This study aims to improve early reading skills through the application of the SAS (Structural-Analytic-Synthetic) Method aided by flashcards. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart design, conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls). Data collection techniques included observation, performance tests, and interviews, focusing on four aspects: pronunciation, clarity of voice, fluency, and comprehension. The results showed a significant improvement in classical learning achievement. In the pre-cycle, achievement reached only 45% (9 students) with scores above the minimum passing score (≥75). After the intervention, the percentage increased to 60% in Cycle I and reached 90% (18 students) in Cycle II, exceeding the 75% success target. This improvement aligns with the rise in the average scores across all assessment aspects from the pre-cycle to Cycle II: pronunciation (2.7 to 3.85), voice clarity (2.6 to 3.45), fluency (2.4 to 3.4), and comprehension (2.6 to 3.2). In conclusion, the integration of the structured stages of the SAS Method with flashcard visualization has proven effective in stimulating students’ focus and long-term memory; therefore, it is recommended as an innovative solution for improving early reading literacy in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of basic mathematical concepts, particularly addition and subtraction, among lower-grade students, which is often caused by conventional learning methods and the lack of use of concrete media. The purpose of this study is to improve the understanding of addition and subtraction concepts in first-grade elementary school students through the use of the traditional congklak game. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in two cycles using the Kemmis and McTaggart model. The research subjects involved 20 first-grade students of Lembursawah State Elementary School in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through testing techniques, observations of teacher and student activities, and documentation. The indicator of success is determined if >80% of students achieve the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) of 70. The results of the study show a consistent improvement in the quality of learning and student learning outcomes. The average class score increased gradually from 65 in the Pre-Cycle, to 71 in Cycle I, and reached 76 in Cycle II. Students' classical learning achievement significantly increased from 25% (5 students) in the pre-cycle to 50% (10 students) in Cycle I, and then reached a peak of 85% (17 students) in Cycle II. This final result successfully exceeded the established classical success indicator target. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of traditional congklak card-based game media is effective in improving the understanding of addition and subtraction concepts in first-grade elementary school students.
