Abstract

In early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic spread rapidly to all countries, including Indonesia. This problem prompted the government to immediately make efforts to suppress the spread of COVID-19. Public Health Centers are at the front line in breaking the chain of transmission of COVID-19 because they are located in every sub-district and have a regional concept. This research is a participatory observational study and was conducted from July 6 – 31, 2020. Researchers at the same time as volunteers coordinated with the Public Health Centers and evaluated the implementation of COVID-19 Prevention and Control in the Work Area of Kalibaru Kulon Health Center. The evaluation was done based on the guidelines for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 by analyzing and interpreting the data and developing a descriptive narrative. The results of the evaluation have shown the suitability of the guidelines with the implementation of the rapid test program, screening COVID-19 at check point posts, and ‘Sekolah Tangguh & Pondok Tangguh’. But, there are still some indicators that are not following the guidelines, especially in the implementation of rapid test program and ‘Sekolah Tangguh & Pondok Tangguh’. The conclusion from the evaluation of the implementation of Kalibaru Kulon Health Center program in making efforts to prevent and control COVID-19 is that the implementation of the program has not been optimal when compared to existing guidelines so that more efforts need to be made such as increasing the role of the government as the developer of policies, which is supported by public awareness to realize community independence in the health sector.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are chronic conditions that cannot be transmitted from one person to another. These conditions do not usually cause symptoms at first, but over time they can progress and damage the affected organ, leading to complications or even death. A lack of public knowledge about NCDs is a major contributor to complications and deaths from these diseases. To address this issue, a series of activities have been organized as part of the Movement for the Control of Non-Communicable Diseases. These activities focus on understanding the definitions, risk factors, prevention methods, and symptoms of diabetes, hypertension, and hyperuricemia. This study used a descriptive observational method, collecting primary data from pre- and post-test responses and health test results. In the first intervention, information about NCDs was provided and participants’ knowledge was increased by 31.25%. The second intervention was a health screening, which included measuring blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Uric acid levels were also measured at five points in Sambimulyo Village, with 129 participants. The results showed that 41.1% had high blood pressure, 29.5% were classified as diabetic, and 18.8% had high uric acid levels. These activities increased public knowledge about NCDs, provided information about the community’s risk factors, and improved communication, education, and information about how to manage these conditions.

Abstract

Coronavirus 19 is a deadly disease that can kill thousands of people worldwide. However, not many researchers know that NO content can kill the COVID-19 virus. This research method is study design used retrospective methods, prospective and a systematic review. Search for reference sources began on March 10th - June 1st, 2021, using several online databases: 1) Pubmed, 2) Science Direct, 3) Google Scholar. Keywords used in the search term: COVID-19, Novel Coronavirus, SARS-CoV, Nitric Oxide, Dark Chocolate, Macrophages and included in journals accredited. This study looked for a list of references from the study, including 103 studies taken through the search. There are 63 articles in cleaning, and eight articles are included in the discussion. This review shows that COVID-19 can be attenuated and killed by the NO content produced by macrophages and supplied with NO content modulated by dark chocolate. Modulating NO-rich foods such as dark chocolate can effectively kill COVID-19. NO can also cure several diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some respiratory infections.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS is a disease that has become a pandemic and worries people all over the world, because until now there has not been found a vaccine or drug for the prevention of HIV/AIDS. HIV positive cases in Indonesia from year to year have increased. The problems faced by people with HIV/AIDS are very complex. In addition, the stigma and discrimination of the surrounding community are also a burden that must be borne by people with HIV AIDS. The stigma makes HIV sufferers worse, with this stigma, HIV sufferers are ashamed to seek treatment at a health service. This writing is to determine the relationship between knowledge and stigma against people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) through a review of various literature with the same theme. The method used in this paper uses rivew literature. This type of research uses systematic review. The study design used retrospective, prospective and systematic review methods. There is a relationship between knowledge and stigma against PLWHA. People with low knowledge tend to stigmatize people with HIV.

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared that this epidemic is a public health emergency of international concern on January 31, 2020 (Bulut & Kato, 2020). As of July 15, 2022, a new coronavirus infection, COVID-19, has spread worldwide, causing more than 500 million cases and over 6.3 million deaths. The COVID-19 pandemic situation presents many challenges and unprecedented social distancing problems that have changed habits, one of which is in the field of education. During the COVID-19 pandemic, learning was carried out online according to the direction of the Ministry of Education and Culture. All educational activities began to use video conferencing, mobile based, and computers/smartphones. The transition of the original learning system offline to online requires students to adapt to these conditions. This has a negative impact, one of which is fatigue in students. The impact of student fatigue causes a sense of loss of spirit, laziness, stress, insomnia. This research was carried out in 2020 with a data collection technique, namely using a Focus Discussion Group (FGD) on the head/leader of a senior high school (SMA) in the East Java area with a total of 8 informants. The results of the FGD found that Some of the schools do not yet have a student fatigue monitoring program. Some schools are not yet aware of the importance of student resilience surveillance. Therefore, it is necessary to have a policy of requiring each school to carry out health surveillance, especially related to student conditions so that bias is well monitored the condition of students, both physical and mental, in order to follow optimal learning.

Abstract

Work fatigue in the shipping industry needs attention. Based on 2018 ILO data, it is stated that more than 2 million workers in the world die every year due to fatigue caused by work-related diseases or work accidents. Fatigue can be caused by an imbalance in workload. The workload, both physical and mental, must be in accordance with the worker's abilities. Physical load is dominated by physical activity work while mental load is dominated by mental activity or thinking. The aim of this research is to analyze the strong relationship between mental workload and physical workload on work fatigue. The research method includes descriptive research with an observational research design and a cross-sectional approach on welding 1 and welding 2 workers in the commercial division of PT PAL Indonesia. The strength of the relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable is seen based on the results of the correlation coefficient (r) in the Spearman test. The results of the research show that there is a very strong relationship between mental workload and work fatigue of 0.811 (very strong) between physical workload and work fatigue of 0.847 (very strong). The strong relationship between physical workload and work fatigue is greater than the strong relationship between mental workload and work fatigue.

Abstract

The potential of Santen Island beach, which has been known as a tourist beach, is increasingly visible with the amount of infrastructure and tourism built by the local government. This is done as an effort to promote Santen Island, as one of the best natural tourism centers in Banyuwangi. The people of Santen Island must be prepared as a group that is aware of the potential of their village and the sustainability of its natural tourism. Santen Island is also a tourist location that is annually used as a nesting site for sea turtles that land on the coast of Banyuwangi. This is actually very contrary to the natural habits of sea turtles which prefer to make nests in quiet places without the disturbance of sound, light, and humans. Because this natural nesting site is a tourist attraction, the local residents should also be given insights related to the protection of sea turtles that land on the coast of Santen Island as wildlife protected by the Conservation Law in Indonesia. This community service aims to strengthen the awareness and knowledge of the Santen Island tourism awareness group related to the importance of the role of the community around the beach to participate in preserving wildlife and their ecosystems. The methods used to carry out community service are lectures, discussions, and brainstorming. The location of the implementation is on the beach of Pulau Santen with the target group of people in the Pulan Santen beach area. The locality development model is applied in community service activities. The understanding, awareness, and participation of the target group increased. Through the community service activities that have been carried out, the sustainability of the program is needed until a conservation education tourism model is formed that has the potential to improve the economy of the surrounding community and the preservation of biodiversity in the region. This activity provides an increase in knowledge, awareness, and participation of the target group in managing the conservation of wildlife and their ecosystems, especially sea turtles.
