Abstract

Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases (PTM) which isthe main cause of death in society which is a global problem. Hypertension can occuranytime and anywhere without complaints, so this disease is called a silent killer orsilently deadly. One can start to controlling their hypertension by increasing theirknowledge and self-awareness as well as adopting a healthy lifestyle. One way islimiting the consumption of salt according to WHO recommendations, which is 2,400mg/day or the equivalent of one teaspoon. Public Health students from the Facultyof Health and Natural Sciences (FIKKIA) of Universitas Airlangga created DURASIproducts as an alternative to salt to control hypertension. DURASI stands for fish andcelery broth to prevent hypertension. Fish is rich in omega 3 which can lower bloodpressure and celery has hexane extract which plays a role in lowering blood pressureas well as methanol and ethanol extract which can increase blood pressure circulation. At the Kertosari Health Center in 2021 hypertension ranks 1st out of the top 10diseases in the working area of the Kertosari Health Center, including Kerosari Villageand Karangrejo Village. In suppressing hypertension cases in the Karangrejo Village, community service activities were carried out by introducing DURASI products as analternative to salt to the Integrated Development Post (Posbindu) cadres as pioneersof healthy living to prevent hypertension. The DURASI product introduction method iscarried out for Posbindu cadres by means of an approach including counseling, trainingand mentoring. Laboratory test results obtained sodium content of 550 mg/100 gramDURASI. The result of increasing public knowledge in the first measurement wasan average increase of 50% and in the second measurement there was an averageincrease of 7%. The factor that affected the small number of increasing publicunderstanding was the awareness of using DURASI products at home.

Abstract

This community service was aimed at increasing knowledge to prevent hypertension by utilizing the role of mother cadres of PKK, which stands for Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga, a hamlet/village-level association focusing on family welfare and empowerment. These cadres are representatives of neighborhood associations (RT/Rukun Tetangga) in the village area. This community empowerment was held through counseling lectures. This activity was carried out in 2022; the data, which were the participants’ responses, were collected using pretest and post-test questionnaires. The sampling was carried out using accidental sampling with a cross-sectional design. This activity targeted 30 PKK mothers as representatives from each neighborhood in Karangrejo Village, Banyuwangi Regency. This empowerment increased the knowledge of the target community regarding the prevention of hypertension by 22.7 points. The average score of the participants’ pretest was 52.26, and that of the post-test was 74.96. This is in line with studies that found that community service activities carried out using the roles of cadres and the elderly showed optimal results in increasing the target communities’ knowledge in the operation of tensimeters and measuring blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol as well as increasing knowledge of cadres and the elderly in hypertension management, and dietary management of hypertension. The SHOPI Project (Education on Hypertension Prevention) effectively enhances public awareness regarding hypertension prevention, with a focus on women from the PKK community in Karangrejo Village, Banyuwangi Regency.

Abstract

Santen Island Beach in the Banyuwangi Regency of Indonesia possesses immense potential for beach tourism. Unfortunately, the charm of this destination has been marred by inadequate waste management. This paper outlines a community service program aimed at enhancing awareness, understanding, and active participation of local community groups in addressing waste management issues by transforming waste into ecobrick greenhouses. The program employed various methods, including lectures, discussions, and brainstorming sessions, which were conducted on Pulau Santen Beach with a focus on the local population. The application of a local development model was central to our community service activities, resulting in increased understanding, awareness, and participation among the target groups. The heightened involvement was marked by enthusiastic participation in ecobrick production, effective household waste sorting (particularly plastic waste), and the formation of committed cadres. The local community exhibited increased knowledge through their ability to respond to questions and plan follow-up actions. This initiative significantly improved the knowledge, awareness, and engagement of the target community in managing waste and converting it into ecobricks.

Abstract

White blood cells are part of the hematopoetic system that is radiosensitive and are markers for determining the effects and intensity of ionizing radiation. This quantitative study aims to see the effect of ionizing radiation (x-rays) from x-ray services on the white blood cells of radiology officers at advanced health facilities in Pare District, Kediri Regency between September 2022, and January 2023. Using the slovin formula, a total of 60 participants were determined, 30 radiology nurses and 30 comparison groups of administrative officers. When viewed as a whole, the relative number of white blood cells there was no significant difference between the radiology officer group and the administrative officer, but the administrative officer group tended to have a a little higher white blood cell count. Significant differences occurred in the relative number of neutrophils with a significance of 0.0001 (0.05) Neutrophils of radiology officer tended to be smaller than the dissident group. The number of lymphocytes of radiology officer is different from administrative officer and tends to have higher count. Based on the findings it can be indicated if x-ray exposure affects the white blood cell count.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the developing countries, which means that Indonesia has a lot of human resources. Humans have different personalities or individual characteristics. A normal personality can be described as flexible, while impaired ego function that causes rigidity is considered a sign of personality pathology. In this case, a person's personality varies depending on their habits and environment. According to the theory of Kernberg (1984), lower levels of organizational personality produce emotional instability. Where it can encourage the development of mal-adaptive behavior patterns. Objective: This study aims to identify the personality and differences in each individual that can improve their performance. The method in this study is systematic review. The search for English-language articles sourced from sciencedirect with publication years from 2020 to 2022 which were then reviewed according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the results of the systematic review, individual personality cannot be equated with each person because each individual has different habits and environments and can affect employee performance. Low personality accompanied by rumination can exacerbate symptoms of depression. If individuals have high / positive personality traits, it has an important role in improving innovative behavior and performance.
