Abstract

Family is an important factor in shaping a child's personality. If a family experiences problems such as a broken home, this will have an impact on the psychological development and behavior of the child. The disharmony that occurs in the family experienced by parents certainly has a big impact on the child's life in the future. The impact of this disharmony will be increasingly felt when the child has entered the stage of adolescent development. This is because, at the adolescent stage, children experience development both cognitively and emotionally. To reduce the impact of a broken home situation, adolescents need resilience as a system of resilience from an unstable state (broken home) to rise mentally and personally stronger. Resilience is needed for teenagers who have a broken home family background to be able to get out of stressful situations. One of the factors that can form resilience is self-esteem. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-esteem and resilience in adolescents who come from broken home families. In this study, the research method used was literature study, and the data collection technique used was qualitative research techniques by describing the problems studied and investigated. The data analysis used is the content analysis technique. The results of this study are that there is a very significant positive relationship between selfesteem and resilience in adolescents with broken home family backgrounds by presenting reading resources based on the theory and results of previous research. Keywords: resilience, self-esteem, adolescence , broken home

Abstract

Learners can be said as individuals who are in the process of developing their attitudes, abilities, and knowledge. In the process, this development does not always reach an optimal degree, even developmental stagnation, personality problems, or behavioral deviations can occur. In this case, guidance and counseling services for students can be pursued as an effort to prevent students from developing in unexpected directions. However, the effectiveness of this effort can be realized if the service provider can identify students' needs for guidance and counseling services based on aspects of personal, social, academic, and student career competency standards. Therefore, this study aims to describe the results of the analysis of students' needs for guidance and counseling services based on these three aspects. This needs analysis has been carried out in the first year of research. The research method used is a quantitative research approach with a descriptive-analytic method. This research was conducted in two cities and two districts in West Java Province (Bandung City, Bandung Regency, Cimahi City, and West Bandung Regency). The research population was all students from class VII to class XII. The research subjects involved included experts, practitioners, and junior and senior high school students.

Then, several questions arise: (i) what is the mental resilience of young mothers in facing the current economic difficulties? (ii) Are gender relations between husband and wife in the household not running normally? (iii) This is where research is important so that we can measure the mental strength of housewives in the face of today's difficult life.

Abstract

This research aims to show that narrative counseling can increase adolescents' self-esteem. The research approach used is mixed-method with an embedded design. The instrument is based on the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI) which measures four aspects of self-esteem. The research subjects in this study were 3 high school adolescents in class XI. The results of the research showed that there was a change in self-esteem in the three teenagers, which was indicated by receiving sufficient recognition and feeling worthy, which means that narrative counseling can increase the self-esteem of adolescents who experience self-harm. However, of the three adolescents, one adolescent still committed self-harm with infrequent frequency even though his self-esteem was already in the medium category. This suggests that there are other variables that influence someone to do self-harm, such as self-concept. Apart from that, the factors influencing a person's self-esteem are different. Further analysis is needed regarding these factors.
