Abstract

Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan siswa sekolah menengah pertama terhadap pembelajaran berbasis etnosians. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah studi literatur terkait dengan pembelajaran berbasis etnosains. Pengintegrasian etnosains ke dalam pembelajaran akan lebih efektif jika dimasukkan ke dalam mata pelajaran, demikian kesimpulan dari artikel ini. Latar belakang budaya siswa dapat mempengaruhi seberapa baik mereka mempelajari konsep-konsep yang diajarkan di sekolah. Kurikulum harus dirancang untuk mempromosikan sistem sosial yang sehat dalam masyarakat. Itu harus memperhitungkan berbagai faktor yang berkontribusi pada pengembangan dan pemeliharaan masyarakat, dan berusaha untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang kondusif untuk interaksi sosial yang positif. Agar pengembangan kurikulum lebih efektif, etnosains perlu diintegrasikan ke dalam proses. Hal ini akan membuat proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih bermakna dan kontekstual bagi siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect size of the STEM approach on students scientific literacy skills in science and physics learning. The research method used is descriptive analysis of the results of scientific publications in national e-journals. The effect of studies that apply the STEM approach to scientific literacy skills and are analyzed using meta-analysis techniques. The findings based on the effect size study on the literacy ability of sians based on science and physics learning revealed that the overall results of the study showed an Effect Size of 0,364 in the large effect category. The STEM approach also has an influence on education levels, areas and research-related variables such as scientific literacy skills, science competencies, problem-solving abilities and students' conceptual understanding. The conclusions of this study indicate that the learning approach with the STEM approach in science and physics learning is able to provide a positive result distribution on students' scientific literacy skills in learning.

Abstract

The ability to think critically is one of the skills that everyone should have in this 21st century that we are living. In physics subjects, this skill is urgently needed to understand concepts. However, educators in Indonesia are still limited to using learning media, so we researchers want to provide a broad picture of the use of innovative learning media on the critical thinking ability of students in physics learning. This research method uses literature studies with bibliometric analysis. . Research data was obtained from 236 articles selected through Publish or Perish which is indicated by Google Scholar from 2015-2022 in the form of article journals. The results of the data analysis show the development of trends in the use of physics learning media to students' critical thinking ability in the year has the highest graph in 2021 and the lowest in 2022. After filtering from 236 articles to the top 10 articles, the institution where the publication contributed a lot of research came from Sebelas Maret University with a total of 31 publications. The most contributor to the research is Sudarti who has published 5 articles. In the visualization display of the medium, it can be shown if the use of technology-based types of learning media can grow students' critical thinking skills. In addition, in the display of critical thinking ability visualization, the role of educators in influencing students in the learning process can improve students' critical thinking skills depending on the learning model used.

Abstract

Higher education quality assurance is aimed at quality education. Universities must systematically carry out the quality assurance process through the Higher Education Quality Assurance System and refer to the National Higher Education Standards. There are two quality assurance systems in higher education, namely; internal quality assurance and external quality assurance. The internal quality assurance system is a systemic activity of quality assurance of higher education by each university autonomously to control and improve the implementation of higher education in a planned and sustainable manner. Meanwhile, the external quality assurance system is an assessment activity carried out by outside units to determine the feasibility of universities. This study aims to fully describe two main things in the quality assurance system in higher education institutions, namely; internal quality assurance and external quality assurance. In obtaining this research data, a qualitative approach to the type of library research is used, by collecting data from books, journals and articles. Data analysis is carried out using content analysis. The results of the study found that: First, internal quality assurance includes: policies and procedures for quality assurance; approval, monitoring and periodic review of programs and awards; student assessment, quality assurance of teaching staff/lecturers; learning resources and student support; information systems; public information. Second, external quality assurance, namely: the use of procedures; process development; criteria for decisions; process in accordance with the purpose; reporting; follow-up procedures; periodic review of the implementation; and system-wide analysis

Abstract

This program is aimed to increase teacher competency through PhET simulation training. This activity is expected to be used as reference material for teachers to implement practical simulations that caused by time constraints and incomplete laboratory facilities and laboratory facilities. Community service activities are carried out using training, discussion, and mentoring methods. Based on the results of this program, 76.9% of the training participants really need knowledge of laboratory management. The trainees looked at the PhET simulation material as very relevant to the field of physics. This is proofed by a response of 76.9% which states that the PhET simulation material is very relevant to learning physics. The trainees also rated very well (92.3%) the benefits of the knowledge of the use of this media in the physics learning process. This training can be reference for trainees to carry out practicum activities virtually in their respective schools. The trainees found of that PhET simulation easy to understand. This condition can be seen from the results of a survey which stated that 92.3% of the training participants answered that it was easy to understand this material.Keywords: Phet Simulation, Physics, Teacher Competency Improvement, Virtual Laboratory.ABSTRAK Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru melalui pelatihan PhET simulation. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan bahan rujukan bagi guru untuk menerapkan simulasi praktikum yang disebabkan oleh keterbatasan waktu dan belum lengkapnya prasarana dan sarana laboratorium praktikum. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan, diskusi, dan pendampingan. Berdasarkan hasil program ini, 76,9% peserta pelatihan sangat membutuhkan pengetahuan pengelolaan laboratorium. Peserta pelatihan memandang materi PhET simulation sangat relevan dengan bidang fisika. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan respon sebesar 76,9% yang menyatakan bahwa materi PhET simulation sangat relevan dengan pembelajaran fisika. Peserta pelatihan juga menilai sangat baik (92,3%) terhadap manfaat pengetahuan penggunaan media ini pada proses pembelajaran fisika. Pelatihan ini bisa menjadi acuan bagi peserta pelatihan untuk melaksanakan kegiatan praktikum secara virtual di sekolah masing-masing. Peserta pelatihan menilai PhET simulation mudah dipahami. Kondisi ini terlihat dari hasil survei yang menyatakan 92,3% peserta pelatihan menjawab mudah dalam memahami materi ini.Kata Kunci: Phet Simulasi, Fisika, Peningkatan Kompetensi Guru, Laboratorium Virtual

Abstract

Misconceptions in physics lessons are still the main problem faced by teachers and students. Misconceptions of physics occur at various levels of education and many physics materials at the high school level. The results of observation to class XII students in Semarang obtained data that the material on the theory of relativity is material with a low level of mastery of concepts. In addition, teachers also have difficulty in identifying physical misconceptions experienced by students.  Therefore, this study aims to develop an instrument in the form of a Four-Tier Diagnostics Test to identify students' physics misconceptions on the material of relativity theory, determine the level of validity, reliability, and characteristics of the four-tier diagnostics test. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D). The methods used are documentation, interviews, questionnaires and tests. The results showed that the instruments were valid and reliable. The diagnostic test consists of four levels, namely: a question with one answer key and four distractor, the degree of confidence of the answer, the reason, and the level of confidence of the reason. The resulting instrument consists of a grid, work instructions, test questions, answer keys, answer sheets, scoring guidelines, and result interpretation guidelines. Validity testing by expert validators shows the developed instrument is valid and reliable.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan mitra yang diidentifikasikan meliputi (1)Kurangnya kreativitas guru dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran terutama untuk penunjang praktikum fisika, (2) Pergeseran perubahan proses pembelajaran secara daring di era new normal tahun 2020 memaksakan guru dan siswa untuk belajar secara online dirumah, (3) Guru SMA fisika di Kabupaten Lebak banyak tidak tahu beberapa praktikum virtual yang digunakan untuk mengajar, memfasilitasi dan memotivasi kreativitas guru dan siswa.  Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi di era digital ini telah membawa perubahan yang signifikan dalam perkembangan dunia pendidikan. Pemanfaatan perkembangan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, khususnya dalam pembelajaran fisika. Adapun solusi untuk permasalahan pada mitra yaitu memberikan pelatihan cara pengunaan PhET simulation. Abdimas ini fokus dalam meningkatkan kreativitas guru dalam menggunakan praktikum virtual dengan PhET simulation sehingga praktikum dapat dilaksanakan dirumah dengan online. Metode yang dilakukan adalah ceramah berbasis praktikum online, diskusi dan umpan balik. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu untuk memberikan pemahaman dan penjelasan tentang cara menggunkan praktikum virtual dengan PhET Simulation. Selanjutnya para guru mendapatkan materi tentang cara menggunakan praktikum virtual dengan PhET simulation. Tindak lanjut abdimas ini adalah peserta membuat lembar kerja praktikum secara mandiri.

Abstract

Salah satu bentuk pengembangan kompetensi guru adalah dengan mengembangkan keterampilan penelitian guru, khususnya Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Proposal PTK adalah tahapan awal proses analisis yang dilakukan secara berulang dan memiliki sifat mandiri. Berdasarkan koordinasi dengan Ketua MGMP Fisika Kabupaten Karawang, perlu diadakan pendampingan penyusunan dan penulisan proposal PTK. Dengan pendampingan pembuatan PTK, diharapkan kualitas pembelajaran guru di kelas meningkat yang juga bermuara pada peningkatan kualitas pengajaran. Hasil analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi sehingga banyak guru yang tidak mengerjakan PTK. Pelaksanaan PkM ini dilakukan melalui lima tahapan yaitu pengamatan (observasi), identifikasi masalah mitra, persiapan kegiatan (dokumentasi dan sosialisasi), pelaksanaan kegiatan inti (pendampingan) dan evaluasi kegiatan tentang pemerolehan hasil selama pelaksanaan sampai dengan tindak lanjut pendampingan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman guru meningkat baik secara teoretik maupun praktik terkait dengan pembuatan proposal PTK. Dapat dikatakan bahwa kegiatan pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh tim PkM tergolong berhasil.

Abstract

Misconceptions in physics learning are still common at the upper school level. Misconceptions lead to low ability to understand students’ concepts in studying physics. Physics misconceptions experienced by students are difficult to detect. This study aimed to develop an Android-based assessment application with a four-tier diagnostics test instrument that can be used to detect student physics misconceptions early on. Product development is carried out by developing physics instruments for class X, XI, and XII levels and then developing an Android-based assessment application. The results showed that this application received a positive response from teachers and students. In addition, the application is able to detect physics misconceptions experienced by students.

Abstract

Background: Pengelolaan hidroponik yang masih manual membuat Yayasan Pulo Kambing harus ekstra bekerja dan memonitoring sepanjang waktu untuk melihat keadaan sayuran, mengisi air secara manual, memonitoring kadar nutrisi secara manual, dan mengisi nutrisi sayuran secara manual juga. Tujuan kegiatan PKM ini adalah untuk memberikan sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan ke mitra Yayasan Pulo Kambing mengenai pengelolaan sistem vertikal hidroponik berbasis sensor aliran air. Metode: Kegiatan ini dilaksakan di Yayasan Pulo Kambing Jakarta Timur. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan yaitu diskusi, pelatihan dan praktek, pendampingan, monitoring, serta evaluasi. Hasil: Alat yang dibuat dapat bekerja dengan baik sehingga efisien dan efektif digunakan oleh Yayasan Pulo Kambing. Peningkatan pemahaman mitra meningkat sebesar 86 % tentang alat tersebut. Mitra dapat menggunakan dengan baik, sehingga mengalami peningkatan dalam keterampilan. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan ini berlangsung dengan baik, sistem tersebut sudah berhasil untuk mendeteksi suhu, nutrisi dan juga pH pada tanaman hidroponik. vertikal hidroponik bekerja dengan baik yaitu mengalirkan air dari dalam pipa hidroponik dan membuat semprotan air bekerja secara otomatis menggunakan aplikasi dari smartphone.
