Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the impact of techno overload on work performance in MSME workers. Apart from that, this research examines the mediating role of emotional exhaustion in workers because of their work. Data was collected from MSMEs that apply technology in Semarang City, Central Java, involving 315 MSME employees as respondents. The approach used is quantitative analysis using the SmartPLS technique. The results show that techno overload influences emotional exhaustion and work performance of MSME employees who use technology, but emotional exhaustion is very weak in mediating between techno overload and work performance. This research provides several theoretical and practical contributions.

Abstract

Background – Stress caused by technology overload in the workplace is one of the main factors leading to workplace stress as well as the demand for continuous improvement in work performance which can eventually lead to feelings of pressure and work overload. Aim - This study is to analyze the impact of Techno-Overload on Work Performance with Work Engagement as an Intervening Variable on MSME Workforce in Semarang City. Design / methodology / approach – The method used in this research is survey methodology and respondents in the SMEs workforce in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. SMEs in the Food & Beverage, Handicrafts, Fashion/Clothing, Retail/Minimarket, Services, and Other sectors were sampled because the workforce requires technostress-related treatment related to the types of disorders in the workforce and organizational losses, such as fatigue, dissatisfaction, anxiety, and decreased productivity. To achieve the objectives of this study, researchers involved 315 workers from 6 sectors and distributed them to SMEs in Semarang City. Findings – The results of this study techno-overload as a technostress variable have a positive relationship to work performance. However, this study shows that work engagement has a significant influence in influencing work performance but the role of work engagement has no influence in mediating technological overload on work performance. This research is to provide an understanding of technostress that has a negative impact on MSMEs so that the workforce is able to take steps to overcome it and theoretically this research can be a benefit for further research. Conclusion - Low techno-overload in SMEs in Semarang City can improve workforce performance. The higher work engagement and the lower techno- overload in the workforce of SMEs in Semarang City can improve workforce performance Research implication – This research is to provide an understanding of technostress that has a negative impact on SMEs so that the workforce is able to take steps to overcome it and theoretically this research can be a benefit for further research. Limitations - This research solely concentrates on one primary stress variable, techno-overload, because this variable significantly affects workers within the research context. There are still many research variables that could be explored regarding the phenomenon of technostress affecting job performance. Another limitation of this study is that the researchers only conducted the study in one city.

Abstract

The implementation of Sustainable Management Accounting (SMA) in developing nations is examined in this paper along with its prospects and obstacles. To achieve long-term sustainability, SMA incorporates social, economic, and environmental factors into business decision-making. SMA adoption in underdeveloped nations is hampered by issues like a lack of funding, a lack of environmental consciousness, and a lack of training and technology. SMA does, however, also have a number of noteworthy advantages, including increased operational effectiveness, better risk management, and higher standing in a global marketplace that is becoming more and more concerned with sustainability. This study examines the challenges and tactics in implementing SMA using a qualitative methodology and case studies of businesses in underdeveloped nations. It is anticipated that the results will help businesses and policymakers create and implement SMA in a way that promotes social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This community service program, titled "Empowerment of Women in Recycling Inorganic Waste in RT 2, RW 12, Pedurungan Tengah," addresses the urgent need for effective waste management and environmental sustainability. The growing volume of inorganic waste poses significant challenges for local communities, particularly impacting women, who play a vital role in household waste management. The primary objective of this initiative was to empower women by enhancing their skills in recycling inorganic waste while raising awareness about environmental issues. The method employed involved participatory training sessions that included socialization, practical workshops, and group activities focused on recycling techniques. Throughout the program, participants learned to separate, process, and create valuable products from inorganic waste. The results were significant: approximately 80% of the participants demonstrated improved recycling skills and successfully produced marketable items. Additionally, the program fostered a greater sense of community engagement and increased awareness of environmental conservation among residents. In conclusion, this initiative not only empowered women economically but also contributed to a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The program highlights the importance of women as key agents of change in waste management practices, setting a foundation for ongoing environmental initiatives in the community.

Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this research is to study how the liquidity ratio functions as a mediating variable in the relationship between Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and debt to asset ratio (DAR) to net profit margin (NPM) in LQ45 companies listed on the IDX during the 2019-2023. Methodology: The quantitative method used in this research uses data from company financial reports for five years. To select samples, purposive sampling technique was used. The influence of direct and indirect variables is evaluated through data analysis using Modeling Equation Structural-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Results: Research shows that DER has a positive and significant influence on NPM and liquidity ratios, while DAR has a negative influence on both. The liquidity ratio functions as a positive mediation between DER and NPM, but only affects NPM directly. Conclusions: The research findings indicate that Return on Equity (ROE) significantly and positively influences the prediction of financial distress in Islamic banking in Indonesia. Conversely, Capital to Total Deposit (CTD) shows a significant negative effect, suggesting that a higher CTD ratio reduces the likelihood of financial distress. Meanwhile, the Loan to Total Asset (LTA) ratio, although showing some influence, does not have a statistically significant effect on predicting financial distress. Limitations: This study has a limited sample size and observation period. Therefore, the findings do not fully reflect conditions or trends not included in the sample. Contribution: This research provides opportunities for further studies with other mediating variables to understand more deeply the financial dynamics of companies in the Indonesian capital market and provide an important contribution to capital structure management in an effort to increase company profitability and liquidity.
