Abstract

This study aimed to determine teacher certification's effect on teacher performance at MTs Negeri Model Makassar. This research is a type of quantitative research with an ex-post facto approach. The study population consisted of all 70 certified teachers at MTs Negeri Model Makassar, with a total sample of 25 teachers. The instruments used by researchers in this study were documentation and scales as primary instruments and interview guidelines as secondary instruments. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the relationship between teacher certification and teacher performance is in the moderate category. Thus, it was concluded that there was an influence between teacher certification on performance at MTs Negeri Model Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of cooperative learning models of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) and Group Investigation (GI) types of learning outcomes for class X students of SMAN 8 Gowa. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were students of class X MIPA which were divided into 7 classes. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The instrument used is a student learning achievement test, which is divided into pretest and posttest. The analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of data analysis using SPSS, it shows the results of calculating the Sig. = 0.178> α = 0.05 which means H_0 is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is no difference in learning outcomes between the cooperative learning models of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) and Group Investigation (GI) types on the learning outcomes of class X students of SMAN 8 Gowa.

Abstract

The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model has been widely applied as an alternative in improving students' mathematical literacy, especially in the midst of low literacy achievement at various levels of education in Indonesia. Through a systematic review of 36 empirical articles published between 2016 and 2025, it was found that PBL consistently has a positive impact on reasoning skills, problem-solving, and the application of mathematical concepts in real-life contexts. The success of this approach is also influenced by various contextual factors, such as students' thinking styles, the role of teachers in facilitating learning, and the use of digital technology. The findings confirm that PBL is an effective learning strategy in building mathematical literacy, as well as making an important contribution for educators and policymakers in developing a more contextual, adaptive, and meaningful learning approach.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills are very necessary for facing the challenges of the 21st century. Developing learning videos that link mathematical material to its implementation in everyday life. This research aims to: 1) develop interactive video learning media toimprove students' mathematical literacyskills; 2) determinethe feasibility of learningvideo media based onexperts and students; and 3) determine the effectiveness of interactive learning videos in improving students' mathematical literacy skills. This research uses a typeof research and development(R&D) that was developed using the modified ASSUREmodel by only applying four of the six development steps, namely: 1)analysing; 2)statingobjectives; 3) selecting methods, media, and materials; and 4)utilising media. The results of the research are: 1)The media developed is an interactive learning video to improve students' mathematical literacy skills, which can be accessed at https://youtu.be/ZxHBMp1etEI?si=GJOtQZPKr5A2D4sK. and https://youtu.be/WvGdq0VQ0mQ?si= SpSZd-l0tjIegH_e. 2)The validation results of the media experts developed were 91.25% in the very good category; 3)the media material validation results were 91.25% in the very good category; 4)students' mathematical literacy skills increased in the medium category with an N-Gain value of 0.61. Thus, interactive learning videos are suitable to be used to improve students' mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

Mathematics learning on solid geometry is often considered difficult due to the limited media used, therefore more interactive media are needed. This study aimed to develop an interactive learning media assisted by Edpuzzle that is valid, practical, and effective. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The research instruments included validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, student activity observation sheets, learning implementation sheets, and learning achievement tests. The subjects were 23 seventh grade students of MTs Sultan Hasanuddin. The results showed that the developed media had a validity level of 95% (very valid). Practicality was indicated by teacher responses of 85% (very good) and the implementation of learning in the 'implemented' category. Effectiveness was shown by student activities of 90% (very active), student responses of 87.36% (very good), and 86.96% of students achieving the minimum mastery criteria with an N-Gain of 0.54 (moderate improvement). Therefore, the interactive learning media assisted by Edpuzzle was declared valid, practical, and effective to be used in mathematics learning on solid geometry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of an ethnomathematics-based test instrument on the Lontara Batik motif to measure the critical thinking skills of eighth-grade students. The test instrument consists of 20 multiple-choice questions developed based on Facione’s critical thinking indicators, including interpretation skills, analysis skills, evaluation skills, inference skills, explanation skills, and self-regulation skills, within the context of the Lontara Batik motif. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method with 14 students as participants at one of the MTs in Makassar City. The instrument quality was analyzed in terms of empirical validity, reliability, discriminating power, difficulty level, and distractor effectiveness. The results showed that all test items were valid, with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.551 to 0.886. The instrument demonstrated very high reliability, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.941. Discriminating power analysis indicated that 19 items were categorized as very good and 1 item as sufficient. In terms of difficulty level, 7 items were classified as easy and 13 items as moderate. Distractor analysis revealed that most distractors functioned effectively, although several options require improvement because they were not selected by the participants. Overall, the Lontara Batik motif-based test instrument was deemed suitable for assessing students’ critical thinking skills. This study contributes to the development of a valid and reliable ethnomathematics-based assessment instrument that integrates local cultural elements to support mathematics learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya pemanfaatan model pembelajaran inovatif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika, khususnya melalui penerapan blended learning yang memadukan tatap muka dan pembelajaran daring. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model blended learning menggunakan platform Alef terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design, di mana kelas eksperimen menggunakan blended learning berbasis platform Alef dan kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Data diperoleh melalui tes hasil belajar yang dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji independent sample t-test serta uji efisiensi relatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol, dengan perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa model blended learning menggunakan platform Alef efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika, khususnya karena memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa untuk mengakses materi secara fleksibel, melakukan eksplorasi mandiri, serta memperoleh penguatan melalui diskusi tatap muka. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan blended learning menggunakan platform Alef berpengaruh positif dan layak dijadikan alternatif strategi pembelajaran matematika di sekolah menengah.

Abstract

Mathematical conceptual understanding is one of the essential competencies that students must possess to face the challenges of 21st-century learning. However, students’ understanding of mathematical concepts, particularly in integer material, is still relatively low. In addition, Android-based learning media that have been developed generally focus only on delivering materials and simple exercises, so they have not been able to facilitate conceptual understanding in an interactive and contextual manner. Therefore, this study aims to develop Kodular-based Intelligent Mobile Learning on integer material to facilitate students’ mathematical conceptual understanding. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The study involved 35 seventh-grade students of MTs Madani Alauddin, Gowa Regency. The developed product was an Android-based learning application equipped with interactive materials, learning videos, example problems, practice exercises, quizzes, discussions, and automatic feedback features. The validation results indicated that the developed media was highly valid, with material expert validation reaching 89.25% and media expert validation reaching 91.11%. The implementation of the media also showed positive results, with student responses reaching 85.14% and teacher responses reaching 89.27%, both categorized as very good. In addition, the implementation results demonstrated high effectiveness with an N-Gain score of 0.72. The findings indicate that the Kodular-based Intelligent Mobile Learning is valid, practical, and effective in facilitating students’ mathematical conceptual understanding of integer material.
