Abstract

The purpose of this study is aimeds to (1) produce the mathematics lesson plan based on social arithmetic Problem Based Learning (PBL) in class VII in viewed from the aspects of validity and practicality and to know the potential effects arising from the development of the lesson plan, (2) describe the characteristics of the lesson plan based on social arithmetic Problem Based Learning. The method of the study was the development research according to the type of formative research by Tessmer. The stages of development were  Self Evaluation, prototyping and product. The subjects were VII.1 grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Muaradua semester 2014/2015 academic year, consistive of 31 people. Data collection techniques used were documentation, walk-throughs, observation sheets, and test results. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of data analysis showed that in the mathematics lesson plan based on social arithmetic Problem Based Learning (PBL) were valid, practical, and had a potential effect. The lesson plan had a valid learning in the content, construct, and language experts based on the results of the validation stage of the expert review and the prototype  test on a small group stage, while the practical lesson plan obtained  from the revised test results of one-to-one and small group. Potential effects of the lesson plan was  known from the results of the field test and the results of the students final test. The results of the students final test showed 45.16% of the students were is very good category, 32.26%  were  good category, and 22.58% fair category. From the result of observation, the percentage average of students’ activity was above 81,25% included in very good category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of Model Eliciting Activities a valid and practical, and determine the potential effect on the student worksheet for problem solving ability eighth grade students. The study resulted several characteristics of model eliciting activities which are including: (1) LKS developed customized with steps and learning the principles of Model eliciting Activities; (2) improve the ability of students LKS Model eliciting Activities related aspects, namely self-assessment, documentation and construk models share abilities and re-usability; (3) Each settlement problems in LKS, guidance is given on the wane; (4) Guidance is given less and less able to develop students problem-solving abilities; (5) LKS Model eliciting Activities related to indicators of achievement of mathematical problem solving ability. Student Worksheet categorized as having potential effects on math problem solving ability of students who have a grade point average mathematical problem solving ability of 68.5, so the mathematical problem solving abilities 8.1 grade students includes both categories.

Abstract

The research is proposed to: (1) get open-ended problems which are valid and practice  on the math topic Sequence and Series of numbers for junior high school students. (2) find potential effects of open ended problems to the students on the topic about sequence and series of numbers. The methodology that use in this study is a developmental research. The way of collecting data is by using Walk through, to determine the validity of the matter is the content, construct, and language; document at small group to know about the practicality; tests and interviews to find out about the potential effects on the ability of students understanding of the concept. The result of data analysis come to conclusion, that: (1) This research produces (six question) open ended problems on the topic of sequence and series of numbers for students of IX grade  are valid and practice. (2) The prototype of open-ended problems which was developed have positive potential effect to the ability of students’ understanding of the concept, it is shown by the average value of students’ understanding of the concept of good in the open-ended problems test which resulted 71,9%.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce a teaching material for three dimensional spaces using inquiry based approach. This research is a developmental research consists of three steps: preliminary, formative study (self evaluation, expert review, one to one and small group) and a field test. The subjects were eighth grade student of SMPN 45 Palembang. Experts review suggest that this study has produced a valid and practical teaching material for three dimensional apaces. The results of the field test alsoshow that the material has a potential effect to improve students critical thinking skills. Keywords: Inquiry based approach, three dimensional spaces, worksheet.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to develop teaching material for algebra operations for grade of junior high school using the approach of Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education and determine its potential effects on learning outcomes. This study uses the type of formative research methods development research. Step by step studies include preliminary stages (preparation and designing) and the formative stages of evaluation (self-evaluation, revision, one to one, experts review, revision, small group, revision, and field test, revision). Data was collected by walk through, documentation, and test competencies. The result validates the expert views that teaching material of algebra operations for seventh grade of junior high school is an valid and practical that can be used in fields trials. The trials of teaching materials were conducted in junior high school 6 of Sekayu, Musi Banyuasin at 7.1 by 30 students. Competency test result show that 77% of students achieved minimum qualifications in which 47% with excellent qualifications, 40% good qualified, 6,7% sufficient qualification, and 6,7% lesws qualifications. The results of students answer analysis show that students are able to understand the problem, determine the variables in a problem, and expressed in algebraic form. However, students are not careful when completing subtraction algebraic expression using parentheses. Keywords: algebra expression, PMRI, teaching materials.

Abstract

This study was aimed at describing the student’ learning progress on decimals addition by a set of learning activitis based on Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education. This research  method is design research which contain three stages, namely: preliminary design, design experiment and retrospective analysis. Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) has been designed to play an important role as learning design and research instrument. HLT was tested to 30 fourth grade students. The data were collected through interview, observation, and field notes. The findings of the research  showed that this instructional design could stimulate students  in the introduction of one digit decimal through the result of weight measurement, the use of the model that the students make themselves (model of) to describe the measurement results at the second level, and marking the result of the measurement to the number line and continued by describing the process of decimals addition from the measurement activity to the number line in the more formal level. Furthermore at the formal level, students are able to solve the problem of the decimals addition using the correct procedure that is the place value rule.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana aktivitas belajar siswa selama pembelajaran pemodelan matematika menggunakan pendekatan konstruktivisme dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa setelah mengikuti pembela­jar­an pemodelan matematika menggunakan pendekatan konstrukti­visme di kelas VIII SMP. Subjek penelitian ini adalah  siswa kelas VIII.1 SMP Negeri 5 Palembang tahun pelajaran 2013/2014  yang berjumlah 36 orang siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, tes, video rekaman, dan wawancara. Dari hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pemodelan matematika menggunakan  pendekatan konstruktivisme berkategori baik dengan rata-rata sebesar 71,30 dan rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diperoleh sebesar 74,54 juga berkategori baik.Kata-kata kunci:  pemodelan matematika, konstruktivisme

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar pokok bahasan lingkaran yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar pada pemecahan masalah. Bahan ajar yang dikembangkan menggunakan pendekatan pemecahan masalah pada latihan soal yang ditampilkan dalam bentuk video pada edmodo. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan di MTs Miftahul Huda Tuguagung pada semester 2 tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan. Berdasarkan analisis hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) Pada penelitian ini menghasilkan ba-han ajar pokok bahasan lingkaran melalui edmodo yang valid dan praktis; 2) Bahan ajar pa-da pokok  bahasan lingkaran melalui edmodo memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar pada pemecahan masalah dengan nilai persentase minat 79,7% dengan kategori tinggi dan hasil belajar pada soal pemecahan masalah dengan kategori baik.   Kata Kunci: Penelitian pengembangan; edmodo; pemecahan masalah   Abstract The purpose of this study was to produce teaching materials on circle which has criteria valid, practical, and has a potential effect on learning outcomes in problem solving. Tea-ching materials developed using a problem -solving approach to the exercises shown in the form of video on Edmodo. Research activities conducted in MTs Miftahul Huda Tugu-agung in the 2nd half of the school year 2012/201. This study uses research development. Based on the analysis of the results of this study concluded that : 1 ) In this study produces teaching materials subject circle through Edmodo valid and practical; 2) Teaching ma-terial on the subject of the circle through Edmodo has a potential effect on learning out-comes in problem solving with 79.7 % percentage interest in the high category and learn-ing outcomes in a matter of solving the problem with good categories . Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan soal-soal penalaran model TIMSS konteks Sumatera Selatan yang valid dan praktis dan untuk melihat efek potensial soal matematika tipe TIMSS konteks Sumatera Selatan terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX SMPN 9 Palembang yang berjumlah 29 orang. Metode penelitian adalah penelitian pengembangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 37,93% siswa menunjukkan tingkat kemampuan penalaran matematis yang baik. Sebanyak 55,17% siswa menunjukkan tingkat kemampuan penalaran matematis yang cukup dan sebanyak 6,90% siswa menunjukkan tingkat kemampuan penalaran matematis yang kurang. Berdasarkan hasil tes tersebut, jika nilai rata-rata siswa siswa sebesar 39,24 dijadikan sebagai batas acuan, maka bisa disimpulkan bahwa 31,03% siswa memiliki kemampuan penalaran matematis yang kurang, sementara 68,97% siswa sudah memiliki kemampuan pelanaran matematis yang cukup baik. Kata Kunci: Soal Penalaran; TIMSS; Konteks Sumatera Selatan  AbstractThe aim of this research was developing valid and practical TIMSS reasoning problem on mathematics context of South Sumatra. The subjects of this research were 29 students of class IX SMPN 9 Palembang. The method of research is the development of research. The results showed that 37.93% of students showed levels of good mathematical reasoning abilities, 55.17% of students showed levels sufficient mathematical reasoning ability and 6.90% of students showed levels of mathematical reasoning abilities are lacking. Based on the test results, if the 39.24 was determined as minimum limit of success, it means that 31.03% of students have less mathematical reasoning ability, while 68.97% of students already have sufficient mathematical reasoning ability. Keywords: Problem Reasoning; TIMSS; Context South Sumatra

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pendekatan pemodelan matematika terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VIII.A dan VIII.B MTs Aisyiyah Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design dan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan random intact group. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes berupa soal kemampuan koneksi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan yang signifikan antara kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran pendekatan pemodelan matematika dan siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil analisis uji-t menggunakan SPSS yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh t = 3,605 dengan tingkat  signifikansi (Sig-2-tailed) adalah 0,001. Dari hasil  perhitungan tersebut, signifikansi (Sig-2-tailed) yang diperoleh kurang dari taraf signifikansi = 0,05 sehingga berdasarkan kriteria pengujian maka  ditolak. Dari analisis data yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan pemodelan matematika berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa.This research aimed to determine whether there is influence of mathematical modeling approach to mathematical connection ability. This research was conducted in  class VIII.A and VIII.B MTs Aisyiyah Palembang. The method used a quasi-experimental design with Nonequivalent control group design and random sampling technique with intact group. The instrument is used a test of mathematical connection ability. The results showed there is significant differences in improvement between mathematical connectionability of students who learn using mathematical modeling approach learning and student learning using conventional learning. This evident from the results of test analysis t test SPSS, obtained t = 3,605 with a significance level (Sig-2-tailed) was 0,001. The results of these calculations, the significance (Sig-2-tailed) were also less than the significance level of = 0.05 so that based on testing criteria then  was rejected. The conclusion of this research is that learning with mathematical modeling approaches affect the students' mathematical connectionability.
