Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical communication skills in the climber category. Subjects in this study were selected based on the results of the ARP test. The techniques used in this study were tests and interviews with climber students who were selected from class VII junior high school students. For data analysis, the Miles and Huberman method was used. The results of this study are climber students are able to fulfill all the established mathematical communication indicators. Climber students are able to express real objects, situations and everyday events in the form of mathematical models (in the form of pictures, tables, diagrams, graphs, algebraic expressions), explain ideas and mathematical models (in the form of pictures, tables, diagrams, graphs, expressions algebra) into spoken or written language, Explain and create mathematical questions being studied, Listen, discuss, and write about mathematics, and Make conjectures, construct arguments, formulate definitions and generalizations.

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran matematika media pembelajaran yang digunakan dapat beragam.  Dengan adanya media pembelajaran yang bervariasi siswa diharap mampu lebih tertik pada saat mengikuti pembelajaran. Salah satunya ialah dengan menggunakan media video pembelajaran.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh penggunaan media video pembelajaran matematika terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA Antartika Sidoarjo. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif metode eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian True Eksperimental. Populasi yang digunakan adalah  siswa kelas X SMA Antartika Sidoarjo dengan teknik pengambilan sampel Cluster Random Sampling yang memperoleh dua kelas yaitu kelas X-A dan X-B. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tulis dan dokumentasi yang dianalisis menggunakan  uji-t dengan uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Dari data didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa ada pengaruh penerapan media video pembelajaran terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA Antartika Sidoarjo. Nilai Rata-rata siswa yang menggunakan media video pembelajaran lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang diberi model pembelajaran secara saintifik. Dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan dan alternatif pembelajaran yang efektif di kelas.

Abstract

Abstract Problem solving skills are very important for learning mathematics. Solving mathematical problems requires strategies that involve cognitive processes in understanding the problem. The purpose of this study is a form of description of students' abilities in solving problem solving on SPLDV material in terms of cognitive style. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research using a written test and question and answer method. The subjects used in this research were VIII-F students of SMP PGRI 1 Buduran with 2 FD students and 2 FI students. The instruments used include the GEFT test (Group Embedded Figures Test), problem-solving question sheets and interview guidelines. Information analysis includes data reduction, presentation of information and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that FD subjects were able to read problems, mastered oral statements from cases and had not been able to replace them with mathematical words, received more detailed information, were unable to expand the results of problem solving and often did not get the right results. On the other hand, FI subjects are able to read problems, master verbal statements from cases and convert them into mathematical words, are more analytical in receiving information, work with their own ideas, can expand the results of problem solving and obtain precise results. The conclusion of this research is that individual FDs are quite capable of fulfilling Newman's problem indicators. On the other hand, FI individuals are able to fulfill Newman's indicators. Keywords: Mathematical problem solving, Field Dependent, Field Independent. Abstrak Keterampilan pemecahan masalah sangatlah penting untuk pembelajaran matematika. Memecahkan masalah matematika membutuhkan strategi yang melibatkan proses kognitif dalam memahami masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini merupakan bentuk deskripsi dari kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan pemecahan permasalahan pada materi SPLDV ditinjau dari gaya kognitif. Jenis riset ini merupakan riset deskriptif kualitatif dengan memakai metode uji tulis serta tanya jawab. Subjek yang dipakai pada riset ini merupakan siswa VIII- F SMP PGRI 1 Buduran dengan 2 siswa FD serta 2 siswa FI. Instrument yang dipergunakan mencakup uji GEFT (Group Embedded Figures Test), lembar pertanyaan pemecahan masalah serta pedoman wawancara. Analisa informasi mencakup reduksi data, penyajian informasi serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil studi membuktikan subjek FD mampu membaca permasalahan, menguasai statment lisan dari kasus serta belum sanggup mengganti dengan bentuk perkataan matematika, menerima informasi lebih garis besar, tidak sanggup meluaskan hasil penyelesaian permasalahan serta kerap tidak memperoleh hasil yang tepat. Sebaliknya subjek FI mampu membaca permasalahan, menguasai statment lisan dari kasus serta mengubahnya ke wujud perkataan matematika, lebih analitis dalam menerima informasi, bertugas dengan idenya sendiri, bisa meluaskan hasil penyelesaian permasalahan serta memperoleh hasil yang tepat. Simpulan dari riset ini ialah individu FD cukup mampu penuhi indikator permasalahan Newman. Sebaliknya individu FI mampu penuhi indicator Newman. Kata Kunci: Pemecahan masalah matematika, Field Dependent, Field Independent.

Abstract

Learning mathematics with a daily life orientation creates a real and optimal learning experience for students, especially in the cultural sphere, which also supports students' mathematical communication skills. This research aims to analyze the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students through ethnomathematics-based Realistic Mathematics Learning, especially at Tikus Temple, Mojokerto Regency. This research is descriptive quantitative research with an ethnographic approach. The subjects used were one class of SMP 48 Surabaya students. Quantitative data was obtained based on students' post-test results. The research results showed that the students' mathematical communication ability test data was normally distributed with a significance value based on the Kolomogorov-Smirnov test of 1,116. Twenty students achieved completion of KKM 65. The results of the One-Sample Statistics test show that the average student calculated value is 72,16 with a standard deviation of 14,593 and a standard error of 2,664. The One-Sample Test results also show a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0,012, meaning that the average value of students' mathematical communication test results is more than or not equal to 70. The minimum completion proportion test results show that the value of tcount ttable so that students' average mathematical communication ability is not equal to 65 and more than 70%.

Abstract

Abad 21 menuntut setiap orang untuk dapat mengembangkan kompetensinya dan memiliki kemampuan bersaing sesuai dengan tuntutan global. Keterampilan berpikir kritis mampu melatih seseorang dalam menghadapi segala tantangan dan melakukan pemecahan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari hari. Peran teknologi dalam pembelakjaran sangat penting untuk pencapaian proses pembelajaran yang maksimal. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh limplementasi Mathematical Digital Creative Book (MAGIC BOOK) yang telah dikembangkan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang telah divalidasikan kepada ahli. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif pre-experimental dengan One-shot Study Research Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV di Sidoarjo dan Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi MAGIC BOOK yang telah dikembangkan dapat memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar. Sehingga, MAGIC BOOK dapat digunakan sebagai buku pendamping untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Solving mathematics word problem is an example of problem solving which is helpful to everyday life, but not all students can easily solve it. Most students have difficulty and errors in solving it. Researchers often find in journal information that students struggle to complete a story. In some cases, it is a matter of mathematically shaped stories in the matter of cartesian coordinates. More than a few students are uneasy to solve mathematics word problem. In fact, many students have not known the concept of cartesian coordinates. The purpose of this study is to describe the type of error and the factors that cause students to make a mistake in solving mathematics word problem especially cartesian coordinates with the correct step of understanding the problem, formulating a plan, carrying out a plan, and examining the answer. It is a qualitative study carried out at public junior high school 2 Sukodono. The data of this study consist of data on written tests and interviews with the group A of VIII-A SMPN 2 Sukodono students. The method of data collection of this research is tests and interviews. The method of data analysis in this study id data reduction, test results analysis, display data, and withdrawal or verification. The subject of this study the three students who the most errors. Studies show made that the flaw of subjects 1, subject 2, and subject 3 lie in the understanding of the problem, formulating a plan, carrying out a plan, and examining answer. According to Polya, the three students had problem at the stage of solving mathematics word problem therefore, the three subjects could not continue the work at the next phase of formulalting a plan, carrying out a plan, and examining answer. The cause of the students’ mistakes is that the students did not understand the concept of the matter’s coordinates. Students didm’t understand the problem well, so they didn’t understand the proper problem settlement planning. In short, the results achieved by the student are inadequate.

Abstract

It is important for students to use educational media appropriately in order to achieve successful learning outcomes. According to observations observed at SMP PGRI Buduran, learning media are not used optimally in the classroom despite the school providing a computer with an access to the internet. In order to implement one of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the PPM team at PGRI Adi Buana University collaborates with SMP Negeri 1 Buduran Sidoarjo teachers in preparing mathematics learning media by maximizing the powerpoint features. During this activity, the PPM Team used various PowerPoint features to create learning materials, interactive quizzes, and evaluation tools, including the VBA feature, which is still very rarely used. The training was conducted well, and all participants listened and participated enthusiastically.

Abstract

Guru dituntut untuk mampu melakukan penyesuaian terhadap perubahan perkembanganTeknologi, Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK), diantaranya mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang inovatif, efektif dan kreatif yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi. Namun kenyataan yang terjadi, masih banyak guru yang belum menguasai media pembelajaran terutama media penilaian hasil belajar yang berbasis teknologi. Hal ini serupa dialami oleh guru-guru MGMP KKMASurabaya yang masih menggunakan cara konvensional dalam penilaian hasil belajar siswa yaitu berbasis kertas (paper based test). Oleh sebab itu, pelatihan pemanfaatandigitalized assement menggunakan platform kahootsebagaiasesmendalampembelajaran penting untuk dilakukan agar guru-guru MGMPKKMASurabaya mampu menggunakan fitur-fitur kahoot dalam membuat instrumen penilaian hasil belajar siswa dan dapat memanfaatkan media tersebut dalam pembelajaran di era digital. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah metodeParticipatory Action Research dengan tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan refleksi. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of a realistic mathematical approach on students' mathematical communication skills, especially in algebraic material. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya, with a sample of 72 students in VII class and divided into two classes, namely the experimental class, which applied a realistic mathematical approach, and the control class, which applied the scientific approach. After learning, students are given a test of students mathematical communication tests and analyzed using a t-test to determine if there are differences in the results of students' mathematical communication tests between the two classes. The study's results revealed differences in students’ mathematical communication tests between the experimental and control classes. Furthermore, based on the average results of the mathematics communication test, the students showed that the experimental class was higher than the control class. So the realistic mathematics approach has a better effect on students' mathematical communication than the scientific approach.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject with very abstract material, so the existence of learning media is very necessary. The purpose of this research is to develop an educative game card learning media "Mathematics Operation Card (MOC)" aimed at low-grade elementary school students. The development stage was carried out using the ADDIE model which consisted of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The instruments used in this study were interview guides, observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. Based on the results of expert validation and materials as well as limited trials, MOC received a good category that was suitable for use and received positive responses from students. So that MOC can be applied in the process of learning mathematics in class.
