Abstract

Objective: The technology is main component in innovation, especially on industry manufacturing to increases production capability. The aim of this study is to examine the total factor productivity growth (TFPg) and its component in Indonesian industry manufacturing based on technology improvement. Method: The stochastic frontier analyses are used to calculate (TFPg). This study attempts to analyses the variation in the TFPg across year, and technology adaption. Results:  The first is the analysis of year-wise comparison, show that experiences negative TFP growth or the average TFP score of current period degrades down from average score in the prior period. Second is the analysis based on technology adaption, show that the degression of productivities are mainly driven by technological regress indicating that the majority firms need innovation in technology utilized in the production process. The medium-high technology on industry manufacturing has highest score of TFP, means technology improvement support on firm productivity. Novelty: The lack of analysis regarding TFPg using a technology adaptation approach makes it a challenge to dig deeper.

Abstract

The condition of poverty, which is not only in terms of meeting food needs but also digital poverty, makes this study aim to analyze and determine the effect of internet accessing households and mobile phone user households on poverty reduction at the national level in 2009-2021. In accordance with the Endogenous Growth Theory (The New Growth Theory), which explains the role of technological progress as an endogenous variable factor in the model and assumption framework of imperfect competition for innovation (Paul Romer, 1986). Using a quantitative approach method with secondary data in the form of time series and sourced from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics. Technically, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, classical assumption tests and statistical tests. The results showed that Information and Communication Technology (ICT), especially internet accessing households and cellular telephone user households, had a partial and simultaneous effect on reducing the poverty rate in Indonesia from 2009 to 2021. If poverty decreases, then a country's economic growth will increase.

Abstract

Indonesian citizens in the Sebatik Island area, the Indonesia-Malaysia border, have generally received their basic needs from Tawau, Malaysia, for a long time. This is indicated to have formed a dual nationalism mentality of Indonesian citizens in the region, which also affects some of the children of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia who live on Sebatik Island and place their national loyalty to those who benefit their lives. The purpose of this activity is to strengthen the values of nationalism and defend the country to the children of Indonesian migrant workers on Sebatik Island to face the decadence of nationalism and prevent foreign infiltration through the country's border areas. The method used in community service begins with analyzing the community situation, identifying problems, and determining specific work goals, problem-solving plans and social approaches. The result of this activity is the implementation of a program to strengthen nationalism and defend the country for the children of Indonesia migrant workers whose parents work in Malaysia through counselling and socialization with competent resource persons in their fields and a community of Sebatik Young citizens has been formed as a forum for self-actualization.

Abstract

Efficiency in the public sector not only affects economic growth but also affects productivity in each province. The efficiency of public sector operations plays an important role in driving economic growth and development. This study examines the differences in public sector efficiency in 10 provinces with the highest economies in Indonesia. A total of 10 provinces with observation years 2019–2023 were the samples of this study. This study uses the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The data used comes from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The research findings show that inefficiency in each province occurs because the input sector used is larger than the output sector, so that public sector operations are not optimal.

Abstract

Global economic instability triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, inflation, and commodity price fluctuations has increased household financial vulnerability in Indonesia, especially among low- and middle-income groups. Many households, particularly those led by housewives, lack adequate financial literacy and skills in managing household budgets. This community service program aimed to enhance family financial resilience by educating housewives in Bangah Village, Sidoarjo, on healthy household financial management. The activity, held on July 20, 2025, involved 70 participants and was implemented through three stages: education using interactive presentations, practical exercises through case studies, and evaluation via pre- and post-tests. The pretest revealed that 70% of participants had not managed household finances effectively. Post-test results indicated a 20% improvement, with 90% of participants understanding proper budget allocation and distinguishing needs from wants. The program successfully increased participants’ knowledge and skills in managing finances, though some still reported expenditures exceeding income. Participants suggested future training include topics on investment and digital literacy.

Abstract

Abstract

Urban freight transport is essential for sustaining city economies, yet its unmanaged growth poses serious risks to mobility and environmental health. This study aims to evaluate the contribution of logistics vehicle operations to traffic congestion and air pollution in Surabaya’s central business district (CBD). Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, field observations, and secondary documentation. Results show that logistics vehicles account for 18–23% of peak-hour traffic, leading to 20–30% longer travel times, while air quality measurements recorded PM₂.₅ levels exceeding WHO thresholds, especially during logistics peak periods. These impacts are largely driven by the absence of delivery time restrictions, outdated vehicle standards, and insufficient infrastructure. Unlike global cities that implement structured freight policies, Surabaya lacks urban consolidation centers, low-emission zones, and delivery scheduling mechanisms, resulting in overlapping freight–commuter flows and heightened emissions. Findings provide evidence-based insights for implementing time-window regulations, low-emission zones, and consolidation hubs in rapidly urbanizing cities. This study contributes to urban freight literature by highlighting the compounded effects of fragmented delivery practices and outdated fleets in a Southeast Asian secondary city, offering a framework for data-driven policy reforms toward sustainable logistics.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of green logistics strategies in freight transportation at Soekarno Hatta Port, Makassar. Data were collected over three months (July–September 2024) through in-depth interviews with 15 informants, participatory observation, and document analysis. Informants represented port authorities, logistics operators, truck drivers, government officials, and academics. Findings show that 9 of 15 informants at managerial level demonstrated high awareness of green logistics, while most operational staff (6 drivers and dock operators) had limited knowledge. Existing initiatives include optimized truck scheduling to reduce idle time and partial electrification of cargo handling equipment. However, barriers such as the lack of electric vehicle infrastructure, absence of regional regulations, and limited sustainability training hinder broader adoption. The study recommends integrating digital emission monitoring, introducing regional fiscal incentives, and developing targeted training programs. By addressing these gaps, Soekarno Hatta Port could become a pioneering model for sustainable logistics in Eastern Indonesia. This research contributes empirically to the discourse on port sustainability by providing localized insights applicable to other regional ports.
