Learning from home is less effective, so teachers are required to be able to plan learning activities that are simpler, creative and effective. Project Based Learning (PjBL) is one of the learning models that recommended by the government. In order to combine contextual with project assignments, achieving 21st century skills is carried out through the implementation of the PjBL model with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) approach that is carried out at home. This study aimed to obtain information on the application of STEM from home with the PjBL model to mastery of concepts and creative thinking skills. This study used an experimental method without using a control group (Pre-Experimental) with a "One Group Pretest-Posttest Design" design by analyzing N-gain based on differences in learning outcomes before learning (pretest) and after learning (posttest). The research participants were 30, seventh grade junior high school students. Mastery of concepts and creative thinking skills as a result of implementation through STEM from home was measured by instruments in the form of a multiple choice test with 15 questions and an essay with 5 questions. The research was conducted in three times online meetings. The results showed that the application of STEM from home with the PjBL model obtained the N-gain value of students with a high category of 43% in mastery of concepts. Meanwhile, on the ability to think creatively, the N-gain value of students in the medium category was 63%. Thus the application of STEM from home with the PjBL model could improve students' mastery of concepts and creative thinking skills.

Students will achieve the expected science education outcomes by giving more chances for scientific argumentation through building an argument, considering it, and debating various explanations on the phenomena. The learning activity is a complex and fast process, therefore the use of video can be a solution since the learning process can be explained in detail and observed repeatedly so that it can be analyzed properly. This study aims to analyze learning activities that facilitate the argumentation in biology on the topic of cloning in high schools. The study was conducted in three Islamic-based Private High Schools in South Tangerang City, Banten Province, Indonesia. The descriptive analysis method for Biology learning activities is recorded in full by using a video camera, then the video is transcribed and analyzed to determine the continuity of argumentation skills. The results of the analysis show that there is still a lack of scientific argumentation skills in learning cloning topic. Learning experiences taken by students have not provided an opportunity for in-depth scientific argumentation. It is necessary for biology learning efforts which can improve students' science argumentation skills.

This article describes the importance of the concept of STEM-based education in the Indonesia curriculum. STEM-based education is an educational concept that integrates the concept of education into a single unit between Science, Technology, engineering and Mathematics, the concept of STEM education has been developed in various developing and developed countries today. STEM education does not mean only strengthening educational practice in the fields of education separately, but rather developing an educational approach by integrating several subjects such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, by focusing more on the educational process on solving real problems in everyday life. By developing various aspects of attitudes, knowledge and skills as well as increasing critical thinking power and being able to form logical thinking in various fields of knowledge based on the applicable 2013 curriculum.

Tujuan PKM ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan meneliti pada calon guru biologi khususnya pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi di kampus yang berada di wilayah III Cirebon. Metode yang digunakan pada PKM ini adalah workshop pembekalan keterampilan meneliti yang terdiri dari pembekalan teoritis dan praktis sehingga terjadi transfer of knowledge kepada peserta kegiatan. Metode untuk meningkatkan keterampilan meneliti pada calon guru biologi dilakukan melalui pembekalan pengetahuan teoritis, praktik penyusunan proposal penelitian dan penyusunan artikel ilmiah serta cara publikasi hasil penelitian. Hasil analisis terhadap respon peserta pada kegiatan PKM ini menyimpulkan bahwa peserta menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat dalam memberikan bekal dasar keterampilan meneliti. Hasil analisis terhadap penugasan yang diberikan menunjukkan bahwa tugas yang dikerjakan peserta tergolong cukup baik, artinya masih memerlukan pembekalan lebih lanjut terkait dengan teori dan khususnya praktik kegiatan meneliti pada peserta. Perlu adanya kegiatan workshop yang berkelanjutan dengan memfokuskan pada best practice dalam kegiatan riset dalam bidang pendidikan maupuan riset pada bidang sains murni.

Physics is a subject that consists of concepts related to real life. Empirical phenomena can be observed directly through experimental activities. However, this experimental method is still not optimally applied by teachers in learning. Problems that can be an obstacle in carrying out experiments in schools include difficulties in collecting and analyzing data on some Physics materials, not all schools have adequate practicum tools, and it is difficult to carry out experimental activities in online learning conditions. Based on this, a mixed-methods research was carried out to find a solution to this problem. Qualitative research consisting of literature review about real experimental methods, virtual experimental methods, and the use of video analysis software in physics learning was conducted to obtained innovation on experimental methods. Furthermore, quantitative research was conducted to determine the difference of student’s conceptual understanding before and after being given the intervention. Based on the results of the literature review, it is concluded that the experimental method innovation that can be carried out is the mixed experimental method by combining real and virtual experimental activities. One example of technology that can be used in this method is video analysis software. The results of data analysis showed that there was a difference in concept understanding between before and after given the mixed experimental method. Therefore, the innovation of the learning method can improve students' understanding of concepts in learning Physics.

Berpikir kritis dalam memecahkan masalah merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam pembelajaran. Agar dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang diperlukan guru yang memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis pula. Keterampilan berpikir kritis ini dapat belajar melalui kegiatan pelatihan guru. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan kritis guru setelah mengikuti pelatihan berbasis video. Video digunakan sebagai sumber belajar utama dalam pelatihan ini. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 44 orang guru IPA SMP. Pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan platform google classroom. Peserta mempelajari 8 segmen video secara bertahap tentang delapan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Setelah mempelajari setiap segmen video, peserta diberikan pertanyaan untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis mereka. Seorang pelatih ditugaskan untuk mengatur jalannya pelatihan dan memberikan umpan balik terhadap hasil kerja peserta. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah 54.19 (SD=14). Meskipun hasil yang didapatkan peserta belum optimal, pemanfaatan video patut untuk dipertimbangkan sebagai alternatif kegiatan pelatihan guru.

Keterampilan penalaran ilmiah yang merupakan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang perlu dilatihkan pada mahasiswa calon guru untuk materi-materi genetika yang bersifat abstrak seperti topik materi genetik dan pindah silang. Penelitian ini merupakan studi pendahuluan dalam perancangan program perkuliahan genetika, untuk mengetahui penggunaan strategi dan metode yang tepat dalam beberapa materi genetika. Implementasi pembelajaran genetika dengan analogi diujikan secara terbatas pada tiga puluh tujuh mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi yang mengambil mata kuliah genetika. Analogi dilakukan pada topik materi genetik dan pindah silang. Penerapan analogi pada model DNA dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan yang dapat digunakan dalam pembuatan model DNA dan analogi pada pindah silang dengan menggunakan lilin malam/plasticine. Profil keterampilan penalaran ilmiah siswa diukur secara skoring pada model DNA untuk topik materi genetik dan pindah silang. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif untuk melihat profil siswa dalam penalaran ilmiah. Hasil dari penelitian ini bahwa penggunaan analogi dalam pembelajaran genetika dapat diterapkan pada topik materi genetik dan pindah silang.Analogies application of genetic course to arise scientific reasoning skills. Scientific reasoning skills were high-level thinking skills that need to be trained in prospective teacher students for abstract genetic material such as the topic of genetic material and crossovers. This research was a preliminary study in the design of the genetic lecture program, to find out the use of appropriate strategies and methods in some genetic material. The implementation of genetic learning by analogy was limitedly tested on thirty-seven Biology Education students who took genetics courses. The analogy was done on the topic of genetic material and crossovers. The application of analogies to DNA models using materials that can be used in making DNA models and analogies to crossovers using night candles/plasticine. Profiles of students' scientific reasoning skills are measured scoring on DNA models for the topic of genetic material and crossovers. Data were analyzed qualitatively to see students' profiles in scientific reasoning. The results of this study that the use of analogies in genetic learning could be applied to the topic of genetic material and crossovers.

This study aims to analyze and identify teachers 'perceptions of TPACK that can influence teachers' knowledge and understanding of 21st-century learning. The research method used in this research is the survey method with a cross-sectional research design. The research subjects consisted of 25 biology teachers with different teaching experiences ranging from learning experience ages less than 5 years to more than 15. The results showed that biology teachers with TPACK perceptions were quite good. Teachers 'perceptions of 21st-century learning are constrained by aspects of understanding students' abilities on creativity and critical thinking indicators. The consideration of teaching according to the skills demands of the 21st century is quite good. Teachers with low teaching experience still have less understanding of the latest learning technology. Each range of teacher teaching experiences has different abilities and perceptions and considerations of 21st-century learning that can become the foundation of teachers in implementing learning in the 21st century that puts forward the 4Cs aspect.

Pembelajaran IPA tidak dapat dipisahkan dengan konteks lingkungan termasuk di antaranya kearifan lokal. Kawasan ikan larangan merupakan salah satu kearifan lokal yang terletak di Sumatera Barat yang berkaitan dengan pelestarian lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelayakan kawasan ikan larangan sebagai sumber belajar IPA. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa dan guru di SMPN 2 Gunung Omeh, Kabupaten Lima puluh Kota. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 27 orang siswa dan 3 orang guru IPA. Teknik pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling yaitu siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran IPA berbasis kearifan lokal ikan larangan. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Angket terdiri dari lima aspek di antaranya kemudahan akses, keamanan, efisiensi waktu, biaya dan kesesuaian dengan materi ajar. Data dianalisis dengan menghitung jawaban angket responden kemudian dipersentasekan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kawasan ikan larangan memiliki persentase aspek kemudahan akses sebesar 71%, keamanan sebesar 75%, efisiensi waktu sebesar 50%, biaya sebesar 75% dan kesesuaian dengan materi ajar sebesar 89%. Simpulan penelitian bahwa kawasan ikan larangan tergolong kategori layak sebagai sumber belajar IPA. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah agar guru IPA dapat memanfaatkan kearifan lokal tersebut untuk pembelajaran IPA supaya lebih bermakna bagi siswa.Feasibility analysis of local wisdom ikan larangan as a science learning source. Science learning cannot be separated with the environmental context including local wisdom. Ikan larangan is one of the local wisdom located in West Sumatra related to environmental conservation. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of Ikan larangan area as a source of science learning. The population and sample of the study were students and teachers at SMPN 2 Gunung Omeh Kabupaten Limapuluh Kota. The sample selection used purposive sampling technique which is the students followed the science learning based on the local wisdom of the Ikan larangan which numbered 27 students and 3 science teachers. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of five aspects such as ease of access, security, time efficiency, cost and conformity with teaching materials. The data were analyzed by calculating of responden answers and then they were converted to percentage. The results showed that the Ikan larangan area has percentage of accessibility aspect 71%, security 75%, time efficiency50%, cost 75% and suitability with teaching materials 89%. The conclusion of this researchis the ikan larangan area was suitable for science learning. The implication of this research is that the science teacher can utilize the local wisdomfor science learning to create meaningful learning for the students.
