Abstract

Although a great deal of study has been done on blended learning, less has been done to examine the execution component. The goal of this study is to develop a fit model and investigate the factors influencing the implementation of mixed learning in arithmetic. Stacey and Gerbic provide an effective implementation of mixed learning that takes into account four important factors: the condition of the foundation, teachers, students, and academic reflections. The method of inquiry that is employed is a quantitative overview approach. Testing utilizing arbitrary group evaluating adding up to 165 educators of grade schools in Bogor City, West Java, Indonesia, beginning from January to July 2020. The techniques used for data analysis are structural equation modeling (SEM) and descriptive analysis. The two phases of this model's evaluation are the measurement model and the structural measurement. The outcomes demonstrated that the most crucial element in improving the blended learning implementation was the teacher's state. The student's condition was the second most important factor, followed by pedagogical considerations and the state of the institution. This examination means quite a bit to use as a kind of perspective for the public authority and partners of every establishment in the progress of reinforcing the variables of executing numerical mixed learning.

Abstract

Chemical molecules are a challenging topic for students because they are abstract and difficult to visualize. Students continue to struggle with understanding sub-microscopic concepts and lack the analytical skills necessary to solve chemical problems. Spatial and analytical abilities are essential for developing a deeper understanding of chemical molecule structures. This study aims to enhance students' spatial and analytical abilities by applying the Inquiry-Based Learning model using PyMOL as a 3D visualization medium in teaching chemical molecule structures. The method used in this study is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design, involving two groups of tenth-grade classes. The experimental class utilized PyMOL as a 3D visualization medium, whereas the control class employed Molymod kits. The results showed that students who learned using PyMOL experienced significant improvements in both spatial and analytical abilities. Correlation analysis showed a positive relationship between spatial and analytical abilities. Students' responses to the learning process are positive. This study demonstrates that using PyMOL as a medium for technology-based 3D visualization can make abstract concepts easier to understand and help students develop critical and systematic thinking skills.

Abstract

Molecular geometry is one of the biggest challenges in science education. Since molecular structures exist at a microscopic level, students often struggle to visualize them in three dimensions (3D), making it difficult to understand concepts such as bond angles, molecular shapes, and electron pair interactions. This study explores the role of spatial ability in high school students’ understanding of molecular geometry. Using a quantitative descriptive method, the study examined the spatial ability and molecular science comprehension of 58 high school students. Data were collected using standardized tests, including the Mental Rotation Test (MRT), shape assembly, and 3D visualization for spatial ability, along with a molecular science comprehension test focusing on VSEPR theory. The results obtain that students' spatial ability is significantly low, with average scores falling far below expected standard. The results suggest the need for more effective teaching strategies that incorporate 3D visualization tools to enhance students’ ability. Future research should focus on interactive learning approaches, such as virtual simulations to help students better visualize molecular structures and improve their understanding of science concepts.

Abstract

Tailoring Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) or often called Tailors experienced an extraordinary economic downturn during the Covid-19 pandemic. Convection innovation as a form of existence in the midst of a pandemic outbreak that still exists today to survive must carry out various kinds of creativity. One of them is digitizing the marketing system, updating fashion trends, increasing relationships, providing the best service, collaborating with agencies, and others. In this service the focus is on digitizing the system and developing the concept of relations using the graph theory concept to increase competitiveness. The location of the service will be focused on one of the tailors, namely Sarinah Tailor in Kedunghalang Village, North Bogor District.

Abstract

The non-productive community that we are partners with is Bina Dakwah Middle School in Leuwiliang Village, Bogor Regency. This institution is an educational institution that is developing and still lacks finances and skills. The aim of this service activity is to provide skills for making ecobrick products with the hope of being able to lift people to work and become productive people so that they can improve economic welfare. The method used in this service activity is a participatory method, namely by means of counseling and direct practice. The outreach began with program outreach, outreach on plastic waste management, outreach and training on the practice of making ecobricks as well as outreach on creating an online marketing network. The result of this activity was an increase in partners' knowledge and insight regarding plastic waste management, and partners succeeded in making ecobrick chair products.

Abstract

Learning media is created to enable interpersonal interaction between teachers and students and provide a significant learning situation for students. The problem that arises in MGMP Science Sukabumi Regency is that teachers still find it difficult to make learning videos, need learning applications that are easily accessible, need innovative and creative learning media, so this service activity is carried out with the aim of developing and implementing learning media systematically based on the needs and characteristics of students. This media is also aimed at changing behavior according to the goals to be achieved which is carried out by three methods, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. This activity resulted in an understanding of teacher competence in dealing with generation Z and an understanding of materials practices for making interesting and interactive learning media based on previously prepared teaching materials This solution was chosen because it was in accordance with the ability and experience of the implementer, which has produced interesting and interactive learning media for students so that it has a good impact on partners. An analysis of the condition of the Sukabumi Regency MGMP IPA shows that PKM partners have done many things to improve the competence of science teachers in their area.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop STREAM-based water teaching using Smart Apps Creator 3 on students’ scientific literacy. The method carried out by Research and Development uses the 4D design (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). The research data were collected and analyzed in the form of quantitative descriptive from the students’ pre-test and post-test results. This research used a Google form by distributing a questionnaire given to students with 56 respondents and 11 science teachers who had used STREAM-based water teaching materials using SAC 3. The results of the study, the average percentage of scientific literacy with N-Gain was 76% with a tall category, which means that the application of learning materials based on STREAM using Smart Apps Creator 3 is proven to improve student learning. Conclusion in this study is STREAM-based teaching materials using SAC 3 are statistically proven to improve students’ scientific literacy to water material in online learning during the current pandemic.

Abstract

Science learning in several schools in the Serang district still rarely conducts practicum, although practicum kits are available. Therefore, it is necessary to train teachers who are members of the Science MGMP Serang District. The purpose of the activity is to improve the skills of teachers to design simple practicums and use practicum kits. Activities were carried out in the duration of 34 JP in the form of training and assignment activities. Training session 1 was conducted online with output in the form of practicum designs made by teachers, while session 2 training was carried out offline at SMP Negeri 1 Ciruas. Academic evaluation is carried out on the collected tasks and non-academic evaluation includes participants' responses to training activities. The data obtained were analyzed in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results of the activity showed that teachers had varied teaching experiences, and the number of assignments collected was 40 practicum designs. Teachers are skilled in drafting practicum designs and using kits well. Teachers are satisfied with the training activities and hope that the activities can be carried out sustainably. After the activity, teachers are expected to be able to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained to carry out practicum activities in learning science at their respective schools
