Abstract

Background: Satisfaction is a feeling that the consumers feel when the service they receive meets or surpass their expectations. Public satisfaction with health care services is still a significant issue for health institutions in improving the service quality. Despite various efforts that health care providers have made, some residents in an area were unsatisfied with the health services in their environment. Objective: To determine the effect of the dimensions of health service quality on patient satisfaction at the Primary Health Care 1 Melaya, Jembrana, BaliMethod: Analytical observational study, a cross-sectional design. The total sample was 70 respondents. Data collection was performed using questionnaires. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the average value of patient satisfaction based on the five dimensions of quality of health care.Result: The dimensions of tangibility, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy have a significance value (p<0.05), while the reliability dimension has no significance value (p>0.05). So the formula used to predict patient satisfaction with health services received is as follows:y = 0,352+0,295*X1–0,104*X2–0,201*X3+0,334*X4+0,180*X5The dimension of health services that has the largest influence on the satisfaction of inpatients is assurance. Patients feel assured and satisfied when the health workers communicate their expertise and competencies before doing their work. Conclusion: Tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, and assurance were four of five dimensions of health services that have significantly influenced the satisfaction of inpatients.

Abstract

Background: Ileus occurs when there is a non-mechanical decrease or stoppage of the flow of intestinal contents. The cause of ileus has yet to be clearly defined. Various factors influence the risk for an ileus, each affecting a small part of the complex neuroimmune system. The patient will present with bloating and abdominal distension. Plain abdominal films and computed tomography (CT) scans of the abdomen are usually the first diagnostic imaging obtained. The most important principle for treating ileus is treating the underlying cause. Treating the infection, electrolyte abnormalities, and decreasing opiate use can all potentially decrease the durability of an ileus. Anesthesia procedures must be performed to treat patients preoperatively, during surgery, and postoperatively. Enhanced recovery protocols, regional anesthesia, opioid-sparing analgesics, and laparoscopy have all improved the number of postoperative ileus cases.Case Presentation: The following is a 67-year-old male patient who presents with abdominal pain with a scale of 4 out of 10, diagnosed with ileus, which was planned for laparotomy surgery by general anesthesia with supine position. Conclusion:We conclude that anesthetic procedures are critical in ileus patients in performing laparotomy operations, both in selecting anesthetic techniques, anesthetic drugs, and supporting scores (Aldrete score). Before induction, anesthesiologists must carefully assess preoperative and monitor postoperative

Abstract

Background: Healthcare systems worldwide face escalating costs and resource allocation challenges, making willingness to pay (WTP) a crucial economic evaluation tool for understanding patient preferences and informing healthcare policy decisions. Objective: This systematic literature review examined perceptions regarding health services' willingness to pay across diverse healthcare contexts. Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic search was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. Studies published between 2024 and 2025 examining perceptions of health services WTP were included. Data extraction focused on study characteristics, methodologies, and key findings regarding WTP determinants. Results: Seventeen studies from 11 countries were included, comprising ten cross-sectional studies, two mixed-methods studies, and various other designs. Key findings revealed that WTP is influenced by sociodemographic characteristics (age, gender, education, income), service-specific attributes (preventive vs. treatment services), and perceptual dimensions including perceived value, risk assessment, and trust. Educational attainment and income consistently emerged as positive predictors of WTP across different health services. Conclusion: WTP for health services represents a complex phenomenon mediated by perceptual factors beyond traditional economic considerations. Healthcare financing strategies should incorporate perception-focused interventions to align WTP with actual costs and improve healthcare accessibility.
