Abstract

Despite extensive process improvement efforts, educational quality often lags, indicating a gap between managerial routines and uneven learning outcomes. Closing this gap requires an integrated perspective that links instructional leadership, teacher professional competence, and work culture as a single quality system. This study aimed to analyze the causal model of the influence of instructional leadership, teacher competence, and work culture on educational quality in public junior high schools. This study used a quantitative correlational design with proportional random sampling of 173 teachers. Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, multiple regression, and path analysis; all analytical assumptions were met. The results showed that all three constructs were positively and significantly associated with educational quality; simultaneously, the model explained a significant portion of the variation, with teacher competence emerging as the strongest predictor. The path analysis showed that leadership influences operate directly and indirectly through teacher competence and work culture, making synergy between constructs key. This study validates the integrated causal model of school quality. Theoretically, the findings clarify the pathways of influence between components. In practical terms, the implication is that the quality improvement agenda needs to combine programmed leadership routines, practice-based professional development, and the cultivation of collaboration, innovation, and disciplined, sustainable, and accountable follow-up.

Abstract

The quality of public elementary schools in Rembang District, Rembang Regency, varies considerably, with some schools achieving high performance while others continue to face challenges in literacy, numeracy, and character development. This situation underscores the importance of examining the contributions of school supervisors, principals, and school committees to school quality. This study aims to analyze the influence of these three roles on the quality of public elementary schools. A quantitative approach with a survey method was used, involving 188 teachers from 42 schools selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire and analyzed with simple and multiple regression techniques. Results show that, partially, the roles of school supervisors and principals significantly influence school quality (p = 0.001 and p = 0.004), but with negative regression coefficients, while the school committee’s role is not significant (p = 0.800). Simultaneously, the three roles significantly affect school quality (p = 0.000) with an R² of 8.8%. Strengthening leadership, supervision, and committee involvement is essential for sustainable improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the communication patterns between parents and teachers in fostering students’ learning motivation at SD Muhammadiyah 01 Kandang Panjang, Pekalongan City. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, class teachers, and parents. The findings reveal three main communication channels: formal (monthly class parent association meetings), semi-formal (digital media such as WhatsApp), and informal (drop-off/pick-up interactions, personal phone calls, and home visits). These channels operate synergistically, enabling the timely exchange of information, strengthening emotional bonds, and enhancing parental involvement in the learning process. Effective communication was characterized by openness, message clarity, prompt feedback, and consistency, which contributed to increased student motivation, as indicated by improved participation, discipline, confidence, and active engagement in class. Challenges, including time constraints, low digital literacy, and limited parental participation, were addressed through flexible scheduling, home visits, and parental digital literacy training. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of three communication channels adapted to the sociocultural context of a faith-based elementary school. This model offers practical insights for developing adaptive school–home collaboration to foster students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of transformational leadership, school culture, and job satisfaction on teacher performance in public elementary schools in Temanggung District. Employing a quantitative research approach with a survey method, data were collected from 152 teachers using validated questionnaires and analyzed with multiple regression techniques. The findings reveal that transformational leadership contributes the highest impact on teacher performance (48.7%), followed by job satisfaction (38.7%) and school culture (37.4%). Simultaneously, these three variables account for 61.6% of the variance in teacher performance, indicating that the combination of effective leadership, positive school culture, and high job satisfaction significantly enhances teacher performance. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative model that simultaneously examines the roles of leadership, organizational culture, and job satisfaction in the context of Indonesian elementary education, particularly in Temanggung. However, this study is limited to a single district and focuses only on three independent variables. Future research should expand the scope to other regions and incorporate additional variables such as pedagogical competence, intrinsic motivation, and organizational commitment, possibly employing a mixed-methods approach. These extensions will provide deeper insights and more comprehensive recommendations for improving teacher performance and educational quality.

Abstract

Improving students' writing skills is the most important thing in their academic journey, yet it often poses some difficulties. This research was aimed to explore into this critical area, specifically focusing on improving students' ability in writing descriptive text. Moreover, it seeks to determine the effectiveness of applying either one or two writing techniques in order to achieve this objective. The study was conducted among 25 students in the VIII H class at SMP Negeri 29 Semarang. To measure the impact of different writing techniques, pre-tests and post-tests were conducted as research instrument. The control group were instructed to utilize the brainstorming technique exclusively, while the experimental group were treated by receiving instruction using both brainstorming and webbing techniques. Upon analysis of the collected data, the results showed a significant difference in students' achievement in writing descriptive text between the two groups. Specifically, the t-test value was calculated of 8.47 meaning that it surpassed the critical t-table value of 2.069 at a 5%. This differences underscores the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha), indicating the efficiency of the brainstorming plus webbing techniques in developing some improvements in students' descriptive writing skills compared to just utilizing brainstorming alone. These findings hold deep implications for academical practices aimed at improving students' writing abilities. By explaining the effectiveness of utilizing multiple teaching strategies, this research not only contributes to the academic conversation on effective teaching techniques but also provides valuable insights for educators seeking to level up their teaching approaches for the benefit of their students' academic development. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam tahapan  akademis mereka, namun sering kali merupakan tantangan yang signifikan. Abstract

This research investigates the influence of work discipline, workload, and organizational culture on the quality of education in public elementary schools in Patean District, Kendal Regency. The study employs a quantitative approach with an ex post facto and correlational design to examine the extent of influence these internal institutional factors exert on educational quality. The population consisted of 268 teachers and education personnel, from which 160 respondents were selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire based on a Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression through SPSS version 27. The results revealed that all three independent variables, work discipline, workload, and organizational culture, significantly and positively affect education quality, both partially and simultaneously. Among the variables, organizational culture demonstrated the strongest influence, indicating that schools with a collaborative, result-oriented, and stable culture are more likely to achieve high educational quality. Work discipline and workload also play essential roles in shaping teacher performance and daily school operations. The regression model explained 45.2% of the variance in educational quality. These findings confirm that improving school quality is not only dependent on external interventions such as curriculum or policy reforms, but is also significantly influenced by internal behavioral and cultural dynamics. Therefore, the study recommends that school leaders focus on strengthening organizational culture, enhancing professional discipline, and managing workloads effectively to promote sustainable improvements in educational outcomes.
