Abstract

The existential challenge of climate change demands urgent solutions, with mangrove conservation emerging as a potent nature-based strategy through the Blue Carbon paradigm. This article explores the transformative concept of "Global Green Diplomacy" through a community service initiative in Bali, Indonesia, employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework. It demonstrates how cross-border collaboration in mangrove conservation transcends mere ecological restoration to become a strategic, scalable, and indispensable Blue Carbon solution. The PAR methodology engaged local communities in five iterative phases: collaborative site assessment, co-design of the conservation plan, capacity building and cross-border knowledge exchange, hands-on implementation embodying the spirit of gotong-royong (cooperation), and participatory monitoring. Results revealed the successful rehabilitation of over 15,000 mangrove saplings across a five-hectare degraded zone, achieving a 78% survival rate. This grassroots action not only restored ecological functions—evidenced by increased biodiversity and a 60% reduction in plastic debris—but also spurred socio-economic transformation, notably through a community-managed ecotourism program. The discussion underscores that this local action gains global significance when linked to Blue Carbon and Green Diplomacy frameworks. The community's stewardship creates a verifiable carbon sink, unlocking opportunities for ethical financing via carbon credit schemes involving international partners. The study concludes that the synergy between local empowerment, cross-border collaboration, and global incentives is key to amplifying climate resilience, effectively turning grassroots action into a sustainable and scalable climate solution.

Abstract

Community-Based Tourism (CBT) is a strategic approach to sustainable tourism development that places local communities as the main actors and beneficiaries. This study aims to analyze the internal and external factors influencing the development of CBT in Taro Village and to examine the role of the community in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and utilization of tourism development outcomes. This research applies a qualitative method with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with key informants, and documentation review. The data were analyzed using a SWOT framework to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats affecting CBT development. The findings show that internal strengths include abundant natural, cultural, and spiritual resources, strong social capital, and active community participation. However, internal weaknesses remain, such as limited human resource capacity, suboptimal tourism management, and inadequate infrastructure. Externally, opportunities are driven by increasing tourist interest in cultural and sustainable tourism and supportive government policies, while threats include destination competition, changing tourism trends, and potential environmental degradation. The study concludes that CBT development in Taro Village has strong potential for sustainable growth, provided that capacity building, institutional strengthening, and stakeholder collaboration are enhanced.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of environmental accounting training and renewable energy utilization on green business management in the hotel industry in Bali, Indonesia, while also exploring the moderating effect of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) traits. A structured questionnaire was administered to a sample of 222 star-rated hotels, and the data were analyzed using moderated regression analysis. The results indicate that both environmental accounting training and the adoption of renewable energy significantly contribute to the effectiveness of green business management practices. However, contrary to initial expectations, NPD traits did not moderate the relationship between the independent variables and green business management. Instead, NPD appeared to weaken the positive influence of environmental accounting training on sustainable decision-making. These findings contribute to stakeholder theory by reinforcing the importance of integrating environmental accounting principles into business strategies, while also drawing attention to the psychological dimensions that may influence managerial effectiveness. The study highlights that while technical training in sustainability remains essential, individual behavioral characteristics—particularly those associated with narcissism—may hinder the successful implementation of green initiatives. Consequently, the findings underscore the need for a more holistic approach that integrates both environmental competence and psychological awareness to advance sustainable practices within the hospitality sector.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of digital marketing strategies on the performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bali. Through a quantitative approach, this study tests the hypothesis that various digital marketing strategies-including search engine optimisation, content marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, and influencer marketing-significantly predict SME performance. The findings show that the implementation of these strategies contributes to increased sales, market share, and better customer relationships. Although the hypothesis regarding dynamic environment moderation did not show significant effects, the study identified challenges that SMEs face, such as resource limitations and digital literacy deficits. The results recommend that SMEs should utilise digital channels more effectively and conduct data-driven analysis to optimise marketing strategies. This research confirms the importance of digital marketing as a vital tool for the growth and success of SMEs in Bali.
