Abstract

Kerang merupakan biota yang populer digunakan untuk mendeteksi pencemaran karena hubungannya dengan sedimen, sifatnya yang filter feeder, dan kemampuannya untuk mengakumulasi polutan. Logam berat yang terpapar dalam kerang, kemudian dikonsumsi oleh manusia akan menimbulkan efek toksik pada manusia bila terakumulasi pada konsentrasi tinggi, serta dapat bersifat neurotoksik, karsinogenik, mutagenik atau teratogenik bahkan menimbulkan kematian. Kromium (Cr(VI)) dapat mempengaruhi saluran pernapasan, ginjal, pembuluh darah, dan kulit, sedangkan paparan timbal (Pb(II)) dapat mempengaruhi saraf, pernapasan, saluran kemih, dan dapat menyebabkan penyakit kardiovaskular. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar Cr(VI) dan Pb(II) pada kerang hijau yang di peroleh dari Tempat Pelelangan Ikan, Klidang Lor, Kabupaten Batang. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara secara kuantitatif menggunakan metode AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa kerang hijau mengandung kromium sebesar 2,84 mg/Kg. Kadar Cr(VI) dalam sampel kerang hijau melebihi batas 1 mg/Kg yang ditetapkan oleh Centre Food Safety, Hong Kong pada tahun 2018. Kandungan Pb(II) kerang hijau sebesar 5,62 mg/Kg. Sampel kerang hijau melebihi ambang batas yang ditetapkan oleh BPOM dan SNI setara dengan 1,5 mg/Kg.

Abstract

People use Kemloko Fruits as sweets and some also use it as a herbal medicine to reduce uric acid. The sour-tasting Kemloko fruit contains a lot of ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid and ingredients contained in it have the effect of preventing or reducing uric acid levels. The aim of this research was to treat the antioxidant effect and inhibitory of the xanthine oxidase enzyme Kemloko Fruit extract, as well as determine the phenolic total and flavonoid total levels. The method used to make Kemloko fruit extract uses maceration with ethanol 96% solvent. The phytochemical screening method uses an in-tube reaction for flavonoid content using the Shinoda test, alkaloids using the Dregendorf reagent, saponins using the foam test and terpenoids/steroids using the Liebermann Burchard reagent. Meanwhile, the methods for determining phenolics and flavonoids total are the colorimetric used spectrophotometry UV-Vis, the DPPH methods for antioxidant assay, and measurenment of inhibiting xanthin oxidase activity using a microplate at a wavelength of 375 nm. Qualitative data produced by the ethanol extract of Kemloko fruit contains tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, saponins and glycosides. Meanwhile, Quantitative data showed that the phenolic and flavonoid total levels were 1465.63±0.003 mgGAE/g extract and 9.52±0.001 µg/mL, respectively, as well as the IC50 for xanthin oxidase enzyme inhibition of 20.65 µg/mL and the IC50 antioxidant power of 9.49 ±0.0007 µg/mL. Kemloko fruit ethanol extract contains tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, saponins and glycosides has inhibitor activity against xanthine oxidase and antioxidant is a strong.

Abstract

Rhodamine B is a synthetic dye that is often misused in cosmetic products. These dyes can cause irritation to the respiratory tract, are carcinogenic and cause liver damage in high concentrations. This study aims to determine the content of rhodamine B in lipstick, blush on, and eye shadow in the Pekalongan Regency. The analysis used in this research is qualitative and quantitative analysis. Qualitative study using Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) with silica gel F254 as stationary phase and mobile phase n-butanol, ethyl acetate, ammonia (5.5 : 2: 2.5) and then detected on UV lamps at 254 nm and 366 nm. Quantitative analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a maximum wavelength of 557 nm. The results of the qualitative analysis showed that three samples of lipstick (sample A, D and E), two samples of blush on (sample B and C), and three samples of eye shadow (sample A, B and E) contained rhodamine B. Rhodamine B levels in the sample lipstick A 0.00244%, lipstick D 0.00052%, lipstick E 0.00065%, blush on B 0.00239, blush on C 0.01091%, eye shadow A 0.00057%, eye shadow B 0.00140, and eye shadow E 0.00047%.

Abstract

Purple corn is a plant belonging to the Poaceae family which has the Latin name Zea mays L. var. ceratina Kuleshov. Purple corn contains anthocyanins which are beneficial for human health as antioxidant agents. Anthocyanins have low stability at high heat and dissolve easily in water. The purpose of this study was to determine the total anthocyanin levels and antioxidant activity of fresh, steamed, and boiled purple corn. This research was conducted qualitatively using thin-layer chromatography with the mobile phase n-Butanol: ethyl acetate: distilled water (4:1:5) and quantitatively using the differential pH method and the antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method. The results obtained from the TLC test showed anthocyanin standard 0.72; fresh purple corn 0.71; steamed purple corn 0.71, and boiled purple corn 0.71. In the qualitative test of total anthocyanin levels using the differential pH method, the total anthocyanins in fresh purple corn were 235,45 mg/100 g; steamed purple corn of 38,908 mg/100 g, and boiled purple corn of 20,42 mg /100 g. From the antioxidant test with the DPPH method, it was obtained that the best IC50 value in fresh purple corn samples of 33.92 (very strong); steamed purple corn was 124.33 (medium) and boiled purple corn was 126.26 (medium).

Abstract

Ikan mujair (Oreochromis mossambicus) merupakan ikan yang tahan terhadap kondisi lingkungan dan mudah ditemukan yang apabila terpapar logam berat serta dikonsumsi dalam jangka panjang akan menimbulkan efek neurotoksik, karsinogenik, mutagenik ataupun teratogenik bahkan sampai kematian. Cd2+ dan Pb2+ merupakan logam berat berbahaya yang bersifat toksik serta dapat mencemari organisme perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar Cd2+ dan Pb2+ pada ikan mujair di tambak Kota Pekalongan. Sampel berasal dari tambak Jeruksari, Panjang, dan Slamaran. Analisis kadar logam berat menggunakan metode AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ikan mujair di tambak Jeruksari, Panjang dan Slamaran mempunyai kadar Cd2+ sebesar 0,07; 17,38 dan 0,02 mg/Kg, serta kadar Pb2+ sebesar 10,26; 6,08 dan 8,62 mg/Kg. Kadar Cd2+ pada tambak Panjang melebihi ambang batas yang ditetapkan oleh BPOM yaitu 0,1 mg/Kg, sedangkan kadar Pb2+ pada ketiga tambak melebihi ambang batas yang ditetapkan oleh BPOM yaitu 0,2 mg/Kg.

Abstract

Penuaan dini kulit salah satunya disebabkan menurunnya jumlah kolagen akibat aktivitas enzim kolagenase yang berlebihan dikarenakan pengaruh intrisik dan ekstrinsik, sehingga kulit menjadi kusam, kering, dan terasa kasar. Salah satu penyebab faktor ekstrinsik yang sering terjadi disebabkan karena paparan sinar UV. Untuk hal tersebut diperlukan senyawa dari bahan alam khususnya Rumput Laut Coklat Padina australis Hauck yang mengandung karotenoid sebagai senyawa antioksidan dan menurunkan aktivitas penuaan dini kulit melalui penghambatan aktivitas enzim kolagenase. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji ekstrak Padina australis Hauck sebagai penghambat aktivitas enzim kolagenase dan antioksidan. Tahapan penelitian meliputi(1) pengambilan sampel rumput laut coklat Padina australis di Pantai Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta, (2) Preparasi sampel yaitu pencucian, pengeringan dan pembuatan serbuk), (3) pembuatan ekstrak dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol pa dan penguapan menjadi ekstrak kental, (4) Pengujian aktivitas ekstrak terhadap enzim kolagenase metode kolorimetri menggunakan microplate rider, (5) analisis kandungan senyawa fukosantin dibandingkan dengan standar fukosantin menggunakan HPLC, (6) Pengujian ekstrak Padina australis terhadap antioksidan menggunakan metode BCB, (6) Analisis data, Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah simplisia kering dengan kadar air 6,58%. Rendemen ekstrak kental yang dihasilkan sebesar 6,56%. Kadar yang telah fukosantin yang terdapat dalam ekstrak adalah 46,4185 mg/1000gram ekstrak, penghambatan aktivitas enzim kolagenase 50% (IC50) sebesar 68,81 µg/mL, serta besarnya daya antioksidan esktrak menggunakan metode Beta Caroten Bleaching (BCB)adalah (25,75±4,40) mg/mL lebih tinggi dibandingkan IC50 BHT sebesar (12,06±1,78) mg/mL. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa ekstrak Padina australis mempunyai daya penghambatan terhadap aktivitas enzim Kolagenase kuat dan daya antioksidan metode BCB kategori sangat kuat.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by increased blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia). One of the enzymes that plays an important role in breaking down oligosaccharides and disaccharides into monosaccharides so that they are ready for absorption is the α-amylase enzyme which can delay and lengthen the digestion time of carbohydrates. Moringa (Moringa oleifera L) is a plant that originates from India and has now spread widely to tropical and subtropical areas throughout the world. Moringa leaves are known to contain the flavonoid, β-sitosterol, which can reduce sugar levels. The aim of this research was to examine inhibitory activity of α-amylase on methanol, n-hexane fraction and ethanol extract of Moringa leaves. The method for data analysis was carried out by obtaining antidiabetic test data, namely the % inhibition value of the α-amylase enzyme activity. From the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that there is α-Amylase enzyme inhibitory activity with moderate strength in samples of methanol partition and n-hexane partition of Moringa leaves carried out in vitro, with IC50 values of 105.302µg/ ml and 158.29µg/ml. Meanwhile, theMoringa leaves ethanol extract sample was carried out in vitro, with an IC50 value of 81,74 µg/ml.

Abstract

TOGA (Tanaman Obat Keluarga) untuk pencegahan hipertensi bagi masyarakat. Persepsi masyarakat dalam menanggapi masalah hipertensi, persepsi yang sering keliru tentang pemanfaatan TOGA untuk pencegahan hipertensi pada masyarakat akan berdampak pada pola penerapan perawatan masyarakat dengan penyakit hipertensi. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat khususnya ibu-ibu di Desa Bligo tentang pemanfaatan toga sebagai alternatif terapi pencegah hipertensi. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dibagi menjadi 3 tahap yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan  program dan tahap evaluasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan di Desa bligo, sebagai peserta kegiatan ini ada ibu-ibu Asiyiyah Cabang Bligo Kabupaten Pekalongan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat yang diketahui dari hasil post test sebesar 84,2% dan dari hasil kuisioner masyarakat yang menyatakan kegiatan ini sangat menarik.

Abstract

Serum is a cosmetic that has received great attention from the industry, but the main challenges are appearance, transparency and public acceptance of herbal active ingredients. On the other hand, herbal cosmetics, such as those using lime peel, are also growing. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of lime peel made in a nano extract serum preparation. The method for making nano extracts uses ionic gelation with PSA (Particle Size Analyzer) and Zeta Potential characterization. The concentration of nano serum of lime peel ethanol extract used was 0.5%; 1%; and 3%. Meanwhile, the antioxidant activity testing method uses DPPH and data analysis applied one-way ANOVA then by Tukey test. The results of the nano extract serum formulation using organoleptic testing are transparent, thick and liquid, odorless, and feel moist on the skin. The results of nanoparticle characterization using PSA measurements with three replications were 295.1; 320.3; 385.4 nm and the results of testing the zeta potential of nanoparticles with three replications, namely 3.2; 3.4; 6.0mV. Furthermore, the results of the antioxidant activity test on the basis of the preparation formula are classified as weak (IC50 value of 156.22 μg/mL); Meanwhile, preparation formula with a concentration of 0.5%; 1%; 3% are considered very strong (IC50 value of 46.39 μg/mL; 41.06 μg/mL; 36.27 μg/mL). The results of data analysis consider significance of p value below 0.05. The conclusion is nano lime peel extract meets the requirements and the serum preparation meets the requirements and has antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Significant efforts are necessary to prevent the spoilage of fatty acid-rich foods as a result of lipid oxidation. Active packaging is a technology that employs packaging films containing antioxidants to increase the stability of perishable foods susceptible to oxidation. This preliminary study aimed to incorporate tannic acid (TA) into a chitosan/κ-carrageenan (Chit/κ-Car)-based polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) films and evaluate their antioxidant release profile. The composition of Chit/κ-Car, glycerol (gly), and TA in PEC films were also investigated in this preliminary study as factors influencing the mechanical properties of films and the antioxidant release profile. The prepared PEC films were identified by an FTIR spectrometer and examined through a mechanical property test. The DPPH method was used to assess the antioxidant property of the Chit/κ-Car-based PEC films. The infrared spectra revealed that PEC films were formed through the interaction between ꟷNH3+ of Chit and ꟷOSO3ꟷ of κ-Car. Increasing the κ-Car and TA compositions in the PEC films increased the tensile strength (TS) and water absorption capacity (WAC), but decreased the elongation (E). The release profile of TA from PEC films followed the Korsmeyer-Peppas model through the Fickian diffusion mechanism with n < 0.5. The antioxidant activity test of PEC films using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method revealed high antioxidant activity with radical scavenging activity (RSA) values up to 95.04%.
