Abstract

TK Persis Tarogong is one of the growing and developing educational institutions in the Garut district, especially in terms of technological development and school information. The author intends to contribute to the educational institution of TK Persis Tarogong by planning a web-based Parent Student and Teacher Association Information System, which aims to support the smooth learning process as well as assist parents in monitoring their children and obtaining information on POMG activities. This information system uses the RUP (Rational Unified Process) development method with the stages of Inception, Elabolation, Construction, and Transition. The system design used in this research is web-based using UML, the UML design built is Usecase Diagram, Squence Diagram, Activity Diagram and Class Diagram. The result of this research is a web-based information system that is expected to help parents and teachers at Persis Tarogong Kindergarten. The contribution of this research is that it can help TK Persis Tarogong in developing technology and school information.

Abstract

Digital signatures are important for companies to overcome distance and time constraints. Therefore, a digital signature system is needed that is not only efficient but also has a high level of security to prevent data falsification or document legality. This research contributes to improving data security and integrity by implementing DSA and AES 128 Bit superencryption in the “Paperless Room” Digital Signature application. The implementation of the technology used is such as ReactJS, NodeJS, NextJS, cryptography modules in JavaScript, and PostgreSQL databases. Evaluation is done through penetration testing and measurement of encryption and decryption performance. The results show that this superencryption successfully improves efficiency and security, with an average encryption time of 165.67 ms and decryption of 98.17 ms, as well as an entropy value of 6.2837 which reflects a high level of security. In comparison, using DSA alone requires a longer encryption time of 242.97 ms and decryption of 312.83 ms, with a lower entropy of 4.8663. These findings confirm that DSA and AES-128 superencryption offer an optimal combination of efficiency and security for securing digital mail files in an enterprise environment.

Abstract

In modern education, enhancing interactivity and learning effectiveness is a crucial aspect. This study aims to develop and evaluate a web-based quiz system that integrates hand gesture recognition technology using OpenCV to increase student engagement and participation. To ensure that the system is developed adaptively and responsively to user needs, this research implements the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology, known for its fast and iterative development cycle. A quantitative approach is used in this study by conducting trials with students from class A ITG, where pre-tests and post-tests are conducted to evaluate interactivity levels, responsiveness to hand gestures, and overall user satisfaction. Usability measurement is performed using the System Usability Scale (SUS), with evaluation results showing an increase in SUS scores from pre-test to post-test. These results indicate that the developed system is capable of significantly improving the student learning experience. However, this study has several limitations, such as the need for optimization of gesture recognition algorithms to improve the system's accuracy and responsiveness. Additionally, the study was only conducted on one group of students, limiting the generalizability of the results. Therefore, future research is expected to include a broader population and explore the integration of additional technologies to enhance system effectiveness in various learning contexts. This study demonstrates that the use of hand gesture recognition technology in a web-based quiz system can create a more dynamic and interactive learning environment. These findings open opportunities for the development of more innovative, adaptive, and responsive educational applications to meet the needs of today’s digital generation.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata yang dilaksanakan oleh Sekolah Tingggi Teknologi Garut memfokuskan untuk lebih spesifik terhadap identifikasi dari beberapa program pelaksanaan pemberdayaan. Salah satu programnya adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi masyarakat desa Pasirwangi Kabupaten Garut. Masyarakat desa Pasirwangi masih kurang pengetahuannya tentang teknologi informasi dan komunikasi serta pemanfaatannya dalam kegiatan sehari-harinya. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan masyarakat dalam pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi masyarakat di desa Pasirwangi sebagai tempat Kuliah Kerja Nyata. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui tahapan masukan, peyelesaian masalah, dan keluaran. Kegiatan dilaksanakan bersama pemerintah desa dan berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi masyarakat.

Abstract

Tantangan Bebras merupakan kegiatan kompetisi secara daring (online). Kegiatan ini bertujuan agar siswa belajar Computational Thinking selama maupun setelah lomba. Tantangan Bebras menyajikan soal-soal yang mendorong siswa untuk berpikir kreatif dan kritis dalam menyelesaikan persoalan dengan menerapkan konsep-konsep berpikir komputasional. Program Studi Teknik Informatika Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Garut merupakan salah satu Mitra/Biro National Board Organization Bebras Indonesia yang menyelenggarakan tantangan ini sejak Tahun 2016. Pelaksanaan Tantangan Bebras di Kabupaten Garut diikuti oleh sekolah-sekolah mulai dari tingkat dasar, menengah sampai atas. Hasil Tantangan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir komputasi siswa-siswa sekolah di Kabupaten Garut.

Abstract

COVID-19 yaitu virus baru dan penyakit yang diketahui berawal menjadi wabah di Wuhan, Tiongkok, bulan Desember 2019. COVID-19 ini sekarang menjadi sebuah pandemi yang terjadi di banyak negara di seluruh dunia. Dalam rangka mencegah penyebaran virus pandemic yang terjadi saat ini, maka dilakukan literasi digital kepada masyarakat Desa Keresek, Kecamatan Cibatu, Kabupaten Garut. Tujuan literasi digital ini yaitu memanfaatkan teknologi modern untuk menyebarluaskan informasi dan pengetahuan mengenai COVID-19 kepada masyarakat yang dapat diakses melalui media internet. Literasi Digital dilakukan dengan cara mengukur pengetahuan masyarakat melalui penyuluhan mengenai COVID-19 diawali Pre-Test, penyampaian materi, kemudian Post-Test. Dengan adanya Literasi Digital diharapkan masyarakat mampu memahami dan menggunakan informasi dalam berbagai bentuk dan berbagai sumber sehingga dapat menanggulangi dan mencegah penyebaran virus COVID-19.

Abstract

Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge atau Tantangan Bebras merupakan suatu kegiatan kompetisi untuk mengukur kemampuan cara berpikir komputasi dengan cara menyelesaikan soal-soal mengenai computational thinking yang disajikan melalui uraian dengan disertai gambar yang menarik. Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Garut sebagai salah satu Biro dari Bebras Indonesia telah menyelenggarakan kegiatan ini sejak tahun 2016 hingga saat ini. Pada Tantangan tahun 2020 jumlah peserta Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge berjumlah 724 siswa yang terdiri dari 95 siswa Sekolah Dasar/MI, 313 siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama/MTs, 316 siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas/SMK/MA. Terdapat 42 sekolah yang mengikuti kegiatan Tantangan Bebras tahun 2020. Hasil kompetisi menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir komputasi pada siswa-siswa di Garut sudah cukup tinggi dengan pencapaian nilai 100 untuk kategori Sikecil dan 90,28 untuk kategori Siaga.

Abstract

Salah satu dampak dari pandemi Covid-19 adalah kegiatan-kegiatan yang biasa bersentuhan dengan masyarakat secara langsung menjadi terbatasi dan harus dilakukan secara online. Demikian halnya dengan kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata yang dilakukan di desa Kota Wetan Kecamatan Garut Kota Kabupaten Garut, seluruh kegiatannya dilakukan secara daring dan disampaikan kepada masyarakat melalui komunitas maya. Dengan segala kelebihan dan kekurangannya, Kuliah Kerja Nyata ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang teknologi digital di masa pandemi. Apalagi, di era digital sekarang ini informasi mengenai teknologi digital tentu akan sangat dibutuhkan banyak orang, baik untuk pendidikan ataupun untuk kegiatan ekonomi. Metode pendekatan yang dipakai dalam Kuliah Kerja Nyata kali ini berupa penyampaian materi mengenai hal - hal teknologi melalui webinar, serta pre test & post test sebagai bahan evaluasi. Hasil akhir kegiatan ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai teknologi digital dari komunitas maya.

Abstract

Real Work Lecture is a mandatory activity that combines the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education with the method of providing learning and work experience to students. KKN is also a vehicle for the application and development of science and technology which is carried out outside the campus within certain times, work mechanisms, and requirements. The real work lecture that has been held in Sindangprabu Village, Wanaraja District, Garut Regency, West Java during August 2022, with this Thematic Real Work Lecture is expected to help with the difficulties faced by the government, including in handling the development of villages in the Wanaraja sub-district, district Garut in an effort to increase the Human Development Index (IPM) of Garut and West Java. In general, the shift in the economic structure that occurred in Garut and West Java districts looks the same, namely the shift from the primary sector to the secondary and tertiary. Garut's condition only relies on the agricultural sector, of course the economy so that, on its way to the industrialization transition area, Garut district really needs to build a foundation a strong economy, including creating human resources to increase village potential and independent industrial commodities or industries that make better use of domestic resources than imports.

Abstract

The heart is a vital organ responsible for pumping blood throughout the body. Hence, impairments can disrupt blood circulation and are the leading causes of mortality worldwide. World Health Organization (WHO) reported that, in 2021, the mortality rate attributed to heart disease reached a significant number. In Indonesia, the prevalence of heart disease attained 1.5%. Consequently, it is essential to prevent and detect heart disease at an early stage utilizing machine learning technologies. This study aims to develop a heart disease classification model using the naïve Bayes and random forest algorithms through the ensemble voting classifier approach. The data were obtained from Kaggle, comprising 1,000 records with 14 variables, including one classification target. Imbalanced data were handled using the synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE), while feature selection was conducted in consultation with cardiologists to ensure clinical relevance. The model was trained using the naïve Bayes algorithm, random forest, and integration of both through the ensemble voting classifier method, in contrast to previous studies that only compared several algorithms to determine the highest accuracy. The test results showed that the model trained with the ensemble voting classifier yielded the best performance, with an accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score of 98.28%, 98.41%, 98.41%, and 98.41%, respectively. This study demonstrates that the ensemble voting classifier method provides better accuracy than the individual algorithms. This model falls within the excellent classification category and is expected to contribute to the medical field and support the development of decision-support systems for diagnosing heart disease.
