Abstract

The early childhood education system nowadays requires the use of authentic assessment in schools. Authentic assessment is an integrative method of assessing the learning process, reflective to the real-world situations, using varieties methods and holistic criteria to assess the cognitive, affective, and skills in early childhood. Social development occurs dominantly after physical, cognitive, and language developments. Based on the minimal developmental standard, many early-childhood children show substandard development in environment adaptation ability, self-managing ability, responsibility, ability to follow rules, sharing, respecting others, cooperation, toleration, and emotional expression. This study aims to identify the influence of cooperative learning through authentic assessment-based jigsaw in the social development of early childhood. This study uses a pre-test post-test design on 50 subjects aged 5-6 years old. The experiment was carried out in 4 stage with 4 learning sub-themes. Data collected with a 1-4 scale observation instrument to get quantitative data and analyzed using t-Test. Results from data analysis concluded that cooperative learning through authentic assessment-based jigsaw has a positive influence on social development in early childhood. We recommend the implementation of this method to optimize social development in early childhood.

Abstract

The dangers of resistance to Propionibacterium acnes and the high cost of treatment prompted the discovery of medicinal sources from natural substances that could act as antibacterials. One of them is using post-harvest coconut products in the form of virgin coconut oil (VCO) with extract of intaran leaves (Azadirachta indica). The purpose of this study was to determine the phytochemical characteristics, inhibition zone and their categorization and to study the difference or effect of VCO supplemented with extracts of intaran leaves (Azadirachta indica) with various concentrations on the growth of Propionibacterium acnes. This study used a posttestonly control group design. The VCO mixed with extracts of intaran leaves with various concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. The antibacterial test was carried out using the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. Data analysis used the Kruskall Wallis and Mann Whitney test. The VCO mixture supplemented with extracts of intaran leaves showed the presence of tannins, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, and alkaloids. The mean diameter of the inhibition zone of virgin coconut oil (VCO) supplemented with leaf extract at a concentration of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% of the growth of P. acnes is 9.4 mm; 18.3 mm; 9.9 mm; 12.6 mm; and 9.9 mm. Data analysis showed that there were differences and the effect of adding extracts to the resulting inhibition zone diameter. The concentrations of leaf extract of 5%, 15%, and 25% were classified as moderate, while the concentrations of 10% and 20% of leaf extract were classified as strong. The 10% concentration had the highest inhibition zone diameter in inhibiting the growth of P. acnes. This combination has the potential to treat acne and needs to be carried out in vivo research.

Abstract

ABSTRAKBlondo merupakan limbah produksi virgin coconut oil (VCO) dapat menjadi sumber untuk mengisolasi bakteri asam laktat. Bakteri asam laktat mampu menghasilkan zat antimikroba yang dapat dikembangkan untuk mengobati kasus infeksi oleh bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dapat menyebabkan infeksi mulai dari keracunan makanan, infeksi kulit hingga infeksi sistemik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan menguji aktivitas antimikroba bakteri asam laktat dari blondo terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif cross-sectional. Sampel blondo diambil dari kelompok wanita tani di Tabanan yang berjumlah 16 sampel dengan pengambilan sampel secara simple random sampling.  Bakteri diisolasi menggunakan media selektif yaitu agar de Man Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) dan identifikasi dengan uji pewarnaan gram, uji katalase dan uji produksi gas dari glukosa. Uji aktivitas antimikroba bakteri asam laktat dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode difusi sumuran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa di dalam sampel blondo terdapat bakteri asam laktat dari genus Lactobacillus dan Streptococcus. Bakteri asam laktat yang diisolasi dari blondo VCO mampu menghambat Staphylococcus aureus dengan terbentuknya zona hambat berupa zona bening dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat 11,02 mm. Zona hambat yang terbentuk termasuk dalam kategori sedang dan kuat, dengan zona hambat tertinggi yang dihasilkan yaitu 20,8 mm dan terendah yaitu 9,2 mm.  Bakteri asam laktat dari blondo memiliki aktivitas antimikroba terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.Kata Kunci: Bakteri Asam Laktat, Blondo, Potensi Antimikroba ABSTRACTBlondo is a waste from the virgin coconut oil (VCO) producted which can be used as a source of lactic acid bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria are capable of producing antimicrobial compounds to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria. The purpose of this study was to isolate and test the antimicrobial activity of lactic acid bacteria from blondo against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This research is a descriptive cross¬-sectional. Blondo samples were taken at group of farm women in Tabanan Regency, which was 16 samples with simple random sampling. Bacteria were isolated using selective medium de Man Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) agar and identified with gram staining test, catalase test and gas production test from glucose. The antimicrobial activity test of lactic acid bacteria  was performed by using wells-diffusion method. The results of this study indicated there was lactic acid bacteria from the genus Lactobacillus and Streptococcus in the blondo sample. Lactic acid bacteria isolated from blondo were able to inhibit Staphylococcus aureus by forming a clear zone with an average diameter of inhibition zone was 11.02 mm. There were two antimicrobial potential category, medium and strong category, with the highest resulting inhibit zone was 20.8 mm and the lowest was 9.2 mm. Abstract

Background: Diets that contain lots of antioxidants will reduce the risk caused by degenerative diseases. Based on this, many people develop food or health products that contain antioxidants. Jempiring leaves (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) and Secang wood (Caesalpinia sappan L.) contain bioactive and antioxidant compositions that are beneficial to health, so they are developed into herbal products.Purpose: To analyze phytochemical reserves, antioxidant capacity and conduct organoleptic tests for Ring Cang tea, describing the benefits of ring rings based on laboratory test results and literature studies on jempiring leaves and secang wood.Method: This research is a descriptive study by conducting phytochemical testing laboratory tests and DPPH antioxidant methods and conducting organoleptic tests with 15 panelists.Results: Ring tea can contain flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids, alkaloids and polyphenols. Ring Cang tea has an antioxidant capacity of 291.43 mg / L and IC50 1.53 μg / mL which shows the antioxidant activity of ring cang tea in the very strong category. Ring tea can be tested organoleptically accepted by panelists in terms of color, taste, and aroma, so that it can be developed into herbal teas for the community.Conclusion: Cang tea is an antioxidant tea that can be used in handling generative or degenerative diseases, such as diabetes, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and other diseases.

Abstract

Poh Lembongan mango is a typical mango from the island of Nusa Penida. During the harvest season the fruit is abundant and not used. The use of this mango fruit needs to be done research, so that it can be used as a souvenir product by processing it into jam. The purpose of this study was to analyze the nutritional content of the mango poh lembongan jam, and to test the organoleptic to determine the acceptability of the product as a souvenir.The research method used is descriptive, namely by laboratory tests and organoleptic tests. Laboratory tests were carried out by analyzing moisture content, ash content, fat content, protein content, carbohydrate content, and vitamin C. Organoleptic tests were carried out on the assessment of the aroma, taste, viscosity and acceptability parameters of 15 panelists.The results showed that the content of this jam was 19.649% water content; ash content 0.165%; fat content 0.573%; protein content of 0.907%, carbohydrate content of 78.705%, and vitamin C of 20.476%. Vitamin C which is quite high in jam gives the product the opportunity to be used as healthy food. Organoleptic tests show that the taste, aroma, texture can still be accepted by the community. Poh Lembongan mango jam has the potential to be developed into a typical souvenir product from Nusa Penida Island.

Abstract

Background: Repellents are chemicals or non-chemicals that can prevent insect activity from approaching humans. The development of repellent products needs to be done so as not to cause skin irritation and provide skin health. The purpose of this study was to carry out phytochemical and repellent tests to determine the active content and effectiveness of virgin coconut oil (VCO) supplementation with Citronella oil (CO) repellent essential oil against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Method: The research method used was true experiment with Posttest Only Control Group Design with experimental group namely VCO, VCO supplementation with 10% and 20% CO. Results: VCO supplementation with CO contained flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, terpenoids, and saponins. VCO has a repellant power of 68.47%, supplementation with a combination of VCO with CO 10% is 97.55% and a concentration of 20% is 100%.  Conclusion: VCO and CO supplementation of 10% and 20% were effective as repellants against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. These two concentrations did not have a significant difference, so the 10% concentration could be used as the basis for further research. The presence of active ingredients in VCO supplementation with CO provides potential as a repellant and skin health care.. Suggestion: Organoleptic testing on this supplementation repellent product needs to be done so that it can be used by the community..

Abstract

Mahasiswa perlu memiliki bekal kewirausahaan, sehingga selain memiliki kemampuan dalam bidang ilmu juga memiliki kemampuan daya saing dalam wirausaha. Selama ini produk olahan salak di Agro Abian Salak terdapat permasalahan mengenai pemasaran produk. Dalam upaya meningkatkan jiwa wirausaha dan pendapatan alumni dan mahasiswa Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar, maka permasalahan diberikan solusinya adalah pengembangan produk, produksi produk, dan pemasaran produk salak Sibetan. Mahasiswa dibentuk kelompok dan dilatihkan dari proses produksi hingga pemasaran. Metode dalam kegiatan ini menggunakan Metode pendekatan Participatory Action Learning System (PALS). Pada proses kegiatan dilakukan dengan cara daring dan luring. Khalayak sasaran dalam program ini adalah melibatkan 20 calon wirausaha. Berdasarkan hasil program ini tenants telah memiliki pengetahuan dan motivasi dalam kegiatan kewirausahaan ditunjukkan dengan komitmen melakukan usaha, labeling, promosi, dan penjualan. Program ini telah memberikan modal awal untuk berwirausaha kepada tenant, sehingga selanjutnya bisa menjadi wirausaha muda. Peserta telah mampu membuat produk kemasan dan labeling produk, serta memasarkannya di media sosial, warung, dan toko online. Peserta telah melalui proses pembinaan meliputi 3 fase yaitu fase penyadaran kewirausahaan, fase pengkapasitasan dan pendampingan, serta fase pelembagaan dan kerjasama. Agro Abian Salak telah dibantu proses pemasaran dan penjualan produknya sehingga mendorong pengembangan dan peningkatan usaha bagi pelaku UMKM.

Abstract

ABSTRACTMotorcycle drivers have a high risk of exposure from motor vehicle exhaust such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). Exhaust from vehicle exhaust can affect the concentration of hemoglobin especially carbon monoxide can increase the concentration of hemoglobin. In addition to motor vehicle fumes, hemoglobin levels are also affected by age, sex, smoking habits, pregnancy, malnutrition (iron, folate, vitamin B12, vitamin A), acute and chronic inflammation, parasitic infections and congenital diseases. Purposed: describe the hemoglobin of Gojek drivers at Office West Teuku Umar, Denpasar. Method: used descriptive by flow cytometry method used automatic analyzer CELL-DYN Ruby.Total respondents were 30 persons taken by accidental sampling meeting the inclusion criteria. In this study. Knalpot dari knalpot kendaraan dapat mempengaruhi konsentrasi hemoglobin terutama karbon monoksida yang dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi hemoglobin. Selain asap kendaraan bermotor, kadar hemoglobin juga dipengaruhi oleh usia, jenis kelamin, kebiasaan merokok, kehamilan, malnutrisi (zat besi, folat, vitamin B12, vitamin A), peradangan akut dan kronis, infeksi parasit dan penyakit bawaan. Tujuan: mendeskripsikan hemoglobin driver Gojek di Kantor Teuku Umar Barat Denpasar. Metode: menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan metode flow cytometry menggunakan automatic analyzer CELL-DYN Ruby.Jumlah responden sebanyak 30 orang yang diambil secara accidental sampling memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Abstract

Pembentukan budaya PHBS pada anak-anak dapat melalui tatanan rumah tangga, sekolah, dan organisasi sosial kemasyarakat yang berkecimpung dalam peningkatan sumber daya manusia. Salah satu organisasi yang telah terlibat aktif dalam pengembangan dan pemberdayaan anak-anak adalah Rumah Bali Caring Community (BCC). Permasalahan prioritas yang dihadapi anak asuh di Rumah BCC adalah kurangnya budaya PHBS. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini diberikan solusi prioritas diantaranya melakukan kegiatan pemberdayaan kepada anak asuh BCC melalui pelatihan PHBS menggunakan media edukomik PHBS.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan anak-anak asuh BCC selama kegiatan dapat menerima dengan baik materi dan metode penyuluhan yang digunakan. Anak-anak asuh BCC mengikuti seluruh rangkaian kegiatan dan berpartisipasi dengan aktif. Tingkat pengetahuan anak-anak asuh tentang budaya PHBS mengalami peningkatan. Pengetahuan anak asuh tentang PHBS dengan kategori baik meningkat dari 17 % sebelum kegiatan menjadi 83 % setelah kegiatan dilaksanakan. Semua anak asuh setelah kegiatan dilaksanakan telah mengenal tentang PHBS dan sebagian besar telah mampu mencontohkan dan mempraktekkan perilaku yang termasuk penerapan PHBS. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini telah menghasilkan luaran berupa buku edukomik yang terdaftar HaKI, leaflet, drat artikel untuk publikasi dan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta
