Abstract

Metallothionein is a protein that is well known to play a role in metal metabolism in bacterial cells. Metallothionein is a multifunctional protein that has the potential to be used as a metal adsorbing agent. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a ubiquitous gram-negative and rapid-growth bacterium. In addition, the complete genome of Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been largely known. Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 is a strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa that the complete genome of this strain is easily accessible in NCBI. These features make Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 become a common model in bacterial studies. This research aimed to find and model the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1. This research was carried out by bioinformatic and protein homology methods. Based on the results, the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 was found in the bacterial genome at base sequence of 2355918 to 2356157. The putative metallothionein-encoding gene of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 has a size of 240 bp. The translation result of the gene showed that the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 has 79 amino acids. The modeling result showed the 3D structure of the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 is similar to the metallothionein 3D structure of Pseudomonas fluorescens Q2-87. The 3D structure of the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 was dominated by turn and coil, but contained 1 α-helix structure and 2 β-sheet structures. Based on protein analysis, it was found that the putative metallothionein of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 has 1 metal-binding cluster with 10 amino acids and the most important amino acid residue is Cysteine . Even though, there was 1 Histidine amino acid residue on the metal-binding cluster.

Abstract

This study develops an optimal bonus–malus premium model within a Bayesian decision-theoretic framework. Claim frequency is modeled using a Poisson distribution, while the number of claims exceeding a predefined critical threshold is modeled conditionally using a Binomial distribution. The Poisson intensity parameter is assigned an Exponential prior distribution, while the Binomial probability parameter follows a Beta prior distribution. The Exponential and Beta distributions are applied to model parameters rather than to observed data, ensuring probabilistic consistency. Since the Exponential distribution is a special case of the Gamma distribution, the Bayesian updating process remains mathematically coherent. To illustrate the model, a dataset of 1,000 simulated motor vehicle policyholders is generated in R under specified distributional assumptions. The results indicate that premiums increase with the number of claims exceeding the critical value and decrease with longer claim-free duration. The proposed framework provides a coherent and flexible approach for premium determination in bonus–malus systems. However, the findings are based on simulated data and specific modeling assumptions, which may limit direct empirical generalization.

Abstract

This study models the health service queue system at the Integrated Health Service Post (Posyandu) in Cilegon City, Banten, using the Petri Net and Max-Plus Algebra approaches to analyze the flow of participant arrivals and completion times. The data used are observational data from Posyandu activities simulated through a discrete event model, which includes several types of participants, namely: babies not standing yet, babies standing, pregnant mothers, and family planning programs. Petri Net modeling is used to represent the relationship between service transitions, while Max-Plus Algebra is used to calculate the process cycle time based on the critical path. The results of the study showed that the categories of non-standing babies, standing babies, and pregnant women/participants in the family planning program had identical service time patterns, namely a total duration of 17 minutes 19 seconds, with the main stages including measurement, midwife intervention, and provision of additional food. Max-Plus analysis confirms that the measurement and midwife intervention stages are the critical path that determines the length of service time. This study concludes that the combination of Petri Net and Max-Plus Algebra is effective in describing the dynamics of Posyandu queues and is able to provide quantitative information needed to identify bottleneck points and the basis for improving the service flow.

Abstract

The majority of the community in Kubangsari Village, Cilegon City, are farmers and factory workers, with approximately 20% of the population directly dependent on the corn farming sector. Traditionally, corn harvests have been sold raw at prices around IDR 8,000, leaving farmers vulnerable to economic fluctuations, particularly during the rainy season when fields are prone to flooding. This community service program aims to empower the Kubang Lestari Women Farmers Group (KWT) through the innovation of processing purple corn into a functional health beverage named JAJANTAN (Jahe Jagung Anti Oksidan/Ginger Corn Antioxidant). The implementation method spanned one month, involving field surveys, direct production workshops, and assistance in packaging and halal certification. The results demonstrated a significant increase in the added value of agricultural commodities; raw corn was transformed into a ready-to-sell bottled beverage priced at IDR 10,000 per unit, with a production cost of IDR 7,000. This mentorship has successfully increased public knowledge regarding food product diversification and opened opportunities for the development of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with full support from the local village government.

Abstract

The development of online transportation services has changed the mobility patterns of society, including among students who have high activity levels. GrabBike, as one of the application-based transportation services, is widely used by students to support their activities. Differences in intensity and usage patterns require a deeper understanding of user behavior through customer segmentation. Therefore, this study aims to segment GrabBike service users among students of the Faculty of Engineering, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, using the RFM model with the application of the K-Means algorithm. This study uses a quantitative survey method with data collection through an online questionnaire (Google Form). The data used is primary data from 86 respondents who are students of the Faculty of Engineering who are GrabBike users. The stages of research include data collection, data preprocessing (cleaning, RFM transformation, and standardization using Standard Scaler), application of the K-Means algorithm, and analysis of segmentation results. The optimal number of clusters was determined using the Elbow and Silhouette methods. The results of the study show that the optimal number of clusters is three. Segmentation using the K-Means algorithm produces three user segments, namely Top Class Users, Ordinary Users, and Low Users. The Top Class Users segment has the highest frequency of use and expenditure, making them potential loyal users. The Ordinary Users segment is the largest segment with moderate usage levels and has the potential to be increased through targeted marketing strategies. Meanwhile, the Low Users segment has low usage levels and requires reactivation strategies. Overall, the K-Means-based RFM approach has proven effective in grouping GrabBike users based on usage behavior and can be used as a basis for formulating more targeted online transportation service marketing strategies.

Abstract

The debt instrument (bond) as one of the investment instruments in the Capital Market has a main risk known as default. Default risk can be mitigated if investors assess the credit quality of the bond and its issuer, as measured by rating. In this research, the initial rating of issuers was investment grade (BBB or higher) and valid for at least 1 year, with their business operations based in Indonesia. The observation period was from 2007 to 2023. A Markov Chain was used to create a transition matrix to analyze transitions and default. The probability of AAA staying over 1 year is 0.9858 whereas the likelihood of AA, A, and BBB staying in the same rating is 0.9203, 0.8825, and 0.8630, respectively. The BBB in a 5-year transition has the highest probability of default by 0.0370. The Euclidean distance was used to measure the similarity of default durations. The 1-year and 3-year transition have the shortest distance, at  0.00939. The conclusion of this research is a higher rating has a higher probability of staying at the same rating and carries lower risk. Furthermore, 1-year and 3-year transitions show similarities based on their probability of default.

Abstract

Literacy skills serve as a fundamental pillar in supporting children's cognitive and socio-emotional development. Unfortunately, disparities in access to literacy resources remain prevalent, particularly in rural areas such as Parigi Village. The read-aloud program initiated by KKM 57 student volunteers emerged as a strategic effort to cultivate a joyful and inclusive reading habit among children in the community. This study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach to provide an in-depth account of the program's implementation and its impact on children's motivation and engagement in literacy activities. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation during activities held at the "Desaku Cerdas" Community Library. The findings indicate that the read-aloud method successfully created a welcoming and interactive learning environment, increased children's confidence to express themselves, and encouraged parental involvement in supporting children's reading habits. These outcomes reinforce the idea that simple yet participatory approaches like reading aloud can be effective alternatives in promoting community-based literacy culture. Therefore, similar programs are worth replicating in other areas with appropriate contextual adaptations. Keywords: literacy, reading aloud, KKM 57

Abstract

The rapid development of internet-based information technology has brought various impacts on society, including the emergence of digital crimes such as cyberbullying. Cyberbullying refers to acts of intimidation, harassment, or humiliation carried out through digital media, which can have serious psychological consequences, particularly for adolescents whose emotional development is still vulnerable. This community service program was conducted at MAN Filial 1 Kubu Raya with the aim of improving students’ understanding of the legal aspects of cyberbullying and the provisions regulated under the Indonesian Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law). The main issues identified were the low level of students’ legal literacy regarding digital media use and the perception that cyberbullying is not a significant issue requiring serious attention. The program employed an interactive legal socialization approach through presentations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. Students were also educated about the legal consequences of intimidation and bullying conducted in digital spaces. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of legal boundaries in social media use, the legal risks associated with cyberbullying, and the importance of maintaining ethics in digital communication. Therefore, legal awareness programs have proven effective in enhancing students’ legal knowledge and encouraging the wise, responsible, and lawful use of digital technology in accordance with applicable regulations.
