Abstract

This study investigates the perceptions of elementary school teachers and students toward the use of Wordwall Budaya a culturally contextualized digital media—in writing instruction, particularly in the development of short stories. The study aims to uncover how Wordwall Budaya influences students' literacy engagement and cultural awareness within the Indonesian elementary education context. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, involving in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. Data were collected from three teachers and five sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 3 Tukulrejo. Thematic analysis was used to code and interpret the data, and findings were validated through triangulation and member checking to ensure credibility. Teachers perceived Wordwall Budaya as a digital tool that fosters student motivation and integrates cultural values into literacy instruction. Students expressed enjoyment and enthusiasm while using the tool, and they demonstrated increased ability in generating story ideas, structuring narratives, and applying cultural vocabulary. Both groups showed a willingness to continue using or adapting the media in future lessons. While existing studies often focus on the use of digital tools in general literacy development, few examine how culturally grounded digital media support narrative writing and cultural identity among elementary students. This study bridges that gap by demonstrating how Wordwall Budaya promotes meaningful literacy practices while reinforcing local cultural knowledge in primary education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of critical thinking skills on the essay writing ability of elementary school students. The research was conducted at SDN Gugus Gajah Mada Giriwoyo using a quantitative ex post facto approach. The research sample consisted of 52 students determined through cluster random sampling techniques. Critical thinking skills data were obtained based on scores on several essay questions, while essay writing skills were measured based on indicators of coherence, cohesion, sentence structure, and idea development. Data analysis employed descriptive statistics, normality tests, validity tests, and simple regression analyses. The results showed that critical thinking skills had a significant impact on the ability to write essays, accounting for 37% of the variance. These findings confirm the importance of integrating critical thinking-based learning in literacy learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This literature review is motivated by the rapid development of digital technology and the increasingly widespread use of social media among students, especially TikTok social media, which has presented opportunities as well as challenges in the world of education, especially in learning Indonesian in elementary schools based on instilling character values. This study aims to evaluate the results of research related to the use of TikTok in supporting Indonesian language learning and shaping students' character. The study method used is a literature review of various scientific articles in the last five years that discuss the relationship between TikTok use, learning motivation, language skills, and student character.  The results of the study show that TikTok can increase students' motivation, learning engagement, and speaking skills, as well as foster character values such as self-confidence, social awareness, and creativity. However, the findings also indicate that without proper supervision, the use of TikTok can have negative impacts such as the use of non-standard language and decreased polite behavior. Therefore, a planned pedagogical strategy is needed as well as the active role of teachers and parents in filtering and interpreting the content consumed and produced by students. In conclusion, TikTok has the potential to be an innovative learning media that supports language literacy and character building if used wisely and educatively.

Abstract

Kajian ini bermaksud untuk menjabarkan persoalan miskonsepsi dalam pembelajaran pada kelas tinggi di sekolah dasar seperti Bahasa Indonesia, IPS, IPA, PKN dan Matematika yang terjadi sekolah dasar melalui pendekatan studi pustaka. Permasalahan miskonsepsi terkait pemahaman yang keliru yang dilakukan oleh guru terhadap penerapan strategi pembelajaran, rancangan pembelajaran, gaya belajar siswa, materi pembelajaran, media dan metode serta penilaian/evaluasi pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah systematic study of literature dengan mengumpulkan data berupa telaah terhadap artikel-artikel jurnal ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa miskonsepsi terhadap pembelajaran pada kelas tinggi adalah faktor internal dari siswa itu sendiri dalam memahami materi pembelajaran, fisik dan psikis siswa yang mempengaruhi kognitif dan mental siswa. Sedangkan faktor eksternal dapat terjadi dari lingkungan sekolah terkait guru, fasilitas sekolah, buku dan bahan ajar, kurikulum dan rancangan pembelajaran serta peran keluarga dan lingkungan masyarakat . Solusi yang dapat diterapkan adalah menerapkan metode, model serta media pembelajaran yang bervariatif serta interaktif, penyesuaian materi dengan pengalaman nyata kehidupan sehari-hari siswa, menjelaskan secara detail terkait materi pembelajaran dengan mempersiapkan materi dan mempelajari dari berbagai sumber, melibatkan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran melalui kegiatan eksperimen ataupun observasi dengan kolaborasi, menggunakan media konkret untuk mengurangi keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana sekolah, serta penyediaan bahan ajar yang mendukung dan perlunya revisi atau mengkaji ulang terkait kesalahan miskonsepsi materi buku ajar dan penyesuaian kurikulum antara tujuan pembelajaran dan kebutuhan siswa. Guru mempersiapkan instrumen evaluasi dengan media digital teruntuk penilaian diagnostik awal siswa untuk mengetahui potensi dari kemampuan awal siswa yang perlu dikembangkan dan diperbaiki.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bentuk komunikasi guru dalam pembelajaran yang berperan dalam pengembangan self-esteem peserta didik di Sekolah Dasar. Komunikasi efektif antara guru dan peserta didik sangat penting dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, tidak hanya untuk mentransfer pengetahuan, tetapi juga keterampilan dan nilai-nilai. Keterampilan abad ke-21, seperti berpikir kritis, kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan komunikasi, diperlukan agar peserta didik siap menghadapi tantangan masa depan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal yang efektif dapat membentuk self esteem dan keterampilan berbicara pesera didik pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Namun, temuan lapangan menunjukkan bahwa beberapa peserta didik mengalami self-esteem rendah, yang mempengaruhi partisipasi aktif dalam pembelajaran. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa bentuk komunikasi yang efektif dapat membantu membangun self-esteem peserta didik, serta menyarankan perlunya model komunikasi yang lebih terstruktur untuk mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar.
