Abstract

An automatic parking system has been proposed to make the car parking process more efficient in terms of time and cost. The absence of information on the position of the parking lot makes the car driver take longer to find it. In multi-story parking lots, officers cannot constantly monitor the available parking conditions directly, so prospective parking users do not know the position of the open parking space. In addition, many parking lots use automatic door latch, but no parking space information display. Parking system automation can be based on hardware, software, or a combination of hardware and software. To the best of our knowledge, no software-based framework is entirely used on this system. Therefore, this study proposes an automatic parking system based on camera sensors and software, which is combined into an information system. The proposed method uses simple morphological operations. Based on the test results, the detection accuracy achieved is 100% with a light intensity of 3 lux, 15 lux, 30 lux, 60 lux, 120 lux, and 250 lux. The average processing time is 1.59 seconds. From this study, it is hoped that this prototype can be tested on relevant environmental conditions so that the prototype can be implemented in parking lots.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the non-contagious diseases that tends to increase every year. This disease occurs almost entirely in women, but can also occur in men. One way to detect this disease is by observing mammography images. However, mammography images often tend to be blurry with low quality so that it is possible to detect them incorrectly. Therefore, in this study, automatic classification of breast cancer on mammographic images was carried out using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). This proposed system uses the VGG16 architecture with a transfer learning system. The proposed system is then optimized using Adam optimizers and RMSprop optimizers. The results of system testing for normal, benign, and malignant classifications obtained an accuracy value of 80% - 90% with the highest accuracy achieved using Adam's optimizers. With this proposed system, it is hoped that it can help in the clinical diagnosis of breast cancer.

Abstract

A solar module as a collector of sunlight that will be converted into electrical energy, so far only used for various applications of renewable energy technology. This research proposes and demonstrates the application of solar module as receiver of Visible Light  Communication System (VLC) as well as collecting energy at the same time. Using a solar module as a receiver causes the receiver does not require an external voltage source. This study tested the acoustic audio signal transmitted through the VLC system to be received by the solar module as a receiver. The results show that the transmitted audio signal has a signal change as a result of the magnitude/amplitude whose value changes with time. The change of voltage level over time causes the LED emission to have different light intensity. Maximum distance of the signal can be transmitted well at a distance of 120 cm at 656 mV voltage with a light intensity of environmental lighting test of 265 Lx. The maximum angle of the signal can be transmitted well at an angle of 20o at a voltage of 190 mV with a light intensity of the test environment light of 265 Lx. The change in voltage values is affected by the LED emission and the light intensity of the test environment light received by the solar module as a receiver. Testing indicates that the audio signal remains well transmitted even though the light energy received by the solar module is in maximum condition.

Abstract

Colorectal Cancer (CRC) is a major contributor to cancer-related mortality worldwide, necessitating early detection and treatment of polyps to prevent cancer progression. A colonoscopy is a critical diagnostic procedure for identifying colon abnormalities and removing premalignant polyps. However, accurately segmenting polyps in colonoscopy images poses challenges due to their diverse appearance and indistinct boundaries. In this study, we investigate augmentation techniques to enhance polyp semantic segmentation using the U-Net model. Our analysis reveals that the most effective technique is found in sub-scenario 2.6.c with an input size of 320×320, striking a favorable balance between accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, we explore the benefits of larger input sizes, taking into account resource considerations. Moreover, we conduct further testing of the best augmentation technique identified in previous experiments with the SegNet model. The results show a 3.5% improvement in the dice coefficient and slightly better qualitative outcomes. However, it is important to note that this enhancement comes with a nearly fivefold increase in training time. Moving forward, our objective is to develop a unified model for segmenting diverse medical images, pushing the boundaries of polyp detection and medical imaging. This research provides valuable insights and lays the foundation for more advanced applications in polyp detection and medical image analysis.

Abstract

A robot is a mechanical device that can perform physical tasks, either autonomously or with human control. Robots began to be used for monitoring in areas that have narrow spaces and/or dangerous areas. So that this robot must be able to carry out monitoring with a remote control system. Therefore, in this study, a robotank is designed that can perform space exploration with remote control. Robotank is designed to use a track and wheel that can pass through various terrains and it has dimensions of 11.8 x 10.8 x 9.1 cm. Robotank is equipped with a camera to monitor in real-time. Robotank can move from one point to another by controlling using a remote control system with a maximum distance of 20 meters in line of sight terrain and 16 meters in non-line of site fields, with an average speed of 0.84 m/s. Robotank can work for 1 hour 52 minutes. With this robotank, it is hoped that it can be used for exploration of areas or rooms that have small spaces and dangerous.

Abstract

Height and weight are parameters to identify a person, especially for a forensic. To identify height and weight is usually done manually. In addition to manually using height measuring devices and scales, you can also use information related to the foot length. There is a relationship between height and foot length can be expressed in the correlation coefficient (r) as same as for weight. Therefore, in this study, a system for measuring human height and weight based on images of the footprint is implemented on Android. The methods used in this study are Gabor Wavelet and k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN). The simulation results generate the best accuracy of 75%. The system can also used to categorize the ideal body level according to the Body Mass Index (BMI). The system is able to process images with an average computation time of 8.92 seconds.

Abstract

The heart is one of the most important organs in the human body. The presence of abnormalities in the heart can be fatal for a person. One way to detect heart abnormalities is an Electrocardiogram (EKG) signal examination. To facilitate the detection of ECG signal abnormalities, an automatic classification method is needed. Therefore, in this study, a method for classifying ECG signals using FdispEn (Fluctuation-based dispersion Entropy) and first-order statistics is proposed. FdispEn measures the uncertainty in the signal and is expected to be able to distinguish the physiological state of the ECG signal time series. In this study FdispEn and statistical computing were used as feature extraction of the ECG signal and combined with the Support Vector Machine (SVM) for the classification process of Normal ECG, AFIB (Atrial Fibrilation), and CHF (Congestive Heart Failure). The method proposed in this study generates an accuracy of 91.5%. The system proposed in this study is expected to assist in the clinical diagnosis of abnormalities in the heart.

Abstract

Human nail disease is usually ignored since it does not reveal clinical signs that are harmful to one's health. Nail disease, on the other hand, can be an early sign of a health issue. Some types of nail disease can cause infection, injury, or even the loss of the nail itself. It can reduce a person's aesthetics and beauty. Nail disease is very varied, so it is often difficult for clinicians to diagnose because several types have high similarities. Therefore, an automatic nail disease classification method based on nail photos was proposed in this study. The proposed method was based on the VGG-16 neural network architecture with an Adam optimizer. Nail diseases including Koilonychia, Beaus Lines, Leukonychia have been classified in this study. The model in this study is simulated in Python programming. The simulation results show that the highest classification accuracy is 96%, achieved with epoch-10. The transfer learning method based on a neural network simulated in this study is expected to support the clinical diagnosis of nail disease.

Abstract

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the world. Early detection followed by therapy is one of the efforts to reduce the mortality rate of this disease. One of the leading medical instruments for diagnosing heart disorders is the electrocardiogram (ECG). The shape of the ECG signal represents normal or abnormal heart conditions. Some of the most common heart defects are atrial fibrillation and left bundle branch block. Detection or classification can be difficult if performed visually. Therefore in this study, we propose a method for the automatic classification of ECG signals. This method generally consists of feature extraction and classification. The feature extraction used is based on information theory, namely Fuzzy entropy and Shannon entropy, which is calculated on the decomposed signal. The simulated ECG signals are of three types: normal sinus rhythm, atrial fibrillation, and left bundle branch block. Support vector machine and k-Nearest Neighbor algorithms were employed for the validation performance of the proposed method. From the test results obtained, the highest accuracy is 81.1%. With specificity and sensitivity of 79.4% and 89.8%, respectively. It is hoped that this proposed method can be further developed to assist clinical diagnosis.
