Abstract

Social media is one of the most existing online media used today by all groups, including artists. The existence of social media is used to support his popularity and good image in front of the public. These artists try. However, the lives of these artists are sometimes inversely proportional to their real lives, this also happened to one of the artists, namely Ardhito Pramono. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of literature studies, which are then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman techniques. The theory used in this research is Erving Goffman's dramaturgical theory. In dramaturgical theory, it is explained that in an effort to achieve a goal, a person will carry out various actions that can create a good impression of other people towards him, so that the terms front stage and backstage appear. This research produces a finding that the life of artist Ardhito Pramono is in accordance with dramaturgical theory, where there is a front stage and a backstage. On the front stage, Ardhito displays his good image through his social media by managing his appearance and creating songs that can inspire other people, especially teenagers. Meanwhile, in the backstage, Ardhito is a drug user, whose drug use is considered deviant behavior in society.

Abstract

Pencak silat merupakan suatu aktivitas pertahanan diri dari musuh dengan kekuatan fisik dan bertarung dengan seni. Pencak silat memiliki nilai-nilai estetik disetiap gerakannya sehingga menciptakan seni beladiri yang berfokus pada aksi pertahanan diri. Seni beladiri dapat dikembangkan oleh  individu sesuai dengan ciri khas seni yang dimiliki oleh dirinya. Eksistensi budaya merupakan keberadaan suatu budaya yang dapat berkembang sehingga dikenal oleh masyarakat banyak. Budaya pencak silat mengalami eksistensinya seiring kemodernan jaman dimana pencak silat selain dijadikan budaya juga sebagai ajang prestasi. Sebagaimana Budaya pencak silat yang lahir di bumi kandung Madiun mengalami eksistensi hingga dijadikan sebuah icon branding kota guna menunjang kota pariwisata dan olahraga. Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah guna menjelaskan eksistensi budaya pencak silat yang dijadikan sebagai icon branding dan pariwisata bumi kandung Madiun. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini ialah Kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat membantu untuk memahami tentang eksistensi budaya pencak silat yang dijadikan sebagai icon branding dan pariwisata bumi kandung Madiun. Berdasarkan kajian yang telah dilakukan, terdapat teori yang digunakan dalam menjelaskan realitas ini yakni teori fungsionalisme struktural. Teori ini melihat bahwa eksistensi budaya pencak silat sebagai peran yang menentukan eksistensi budaya sehingga terbentuk icon branding kota sebagai kota pariwisata guna mempertahankan tatanan sosial. Berdasarkan penjelasan tersebut, maka budaya pencak silat sebagai pendorong eksistensi kota sehingga membentuk icon branding dan memunculkan kota pariwisata

Abstract

Studi dan diskusi mengenai marginalisasi perempuan masih banyak berkutat pada bentuk- bentuk ketidaksetaraan dan diskriminasi gender. Artikel berupa hasil kajian literatur yang berusaha mengisi kekosongan studi mengenai bagaimana transformasi peran perempuan desa sebagai bentuk perlawanan dalam belenggu budaya patriarki yang masih kental. Tujuan kajian adalah mengidentifikasi transformasi peran perempuan desa pada beberapa aspek yang masih terbelenggu oleh budaya patriarki. Dokumen kepustakaan yang digunakan berupa buku, jurnal, tesis, dan skripsi yang relevan. Hasil kajian menjelaskan kedudukan dan peran perempuan di dalam kehidupan masyarakat desa telah mengalami perubahan pada beberapa aspek, yakni politik, pendidikan, ekonomi dan keluarga, maupun sosial dan budaya. Kedudukan dan peran perempuan desa tidak dapat dimarginalisasi dengan kekuasaan dan dominasi laki-laki. Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi telah menuntun perempuan menuju derajat yang setara di dalam sistem sosial masyarakat desa, meskipun faktor ekonomi dan budaya masih menghambat mobilitas sosial perempuan di desa. Temuan itu sejalan dengan hakikat perempuan sebagai makhluk sosial yang memiliki hak untuk bebas berekspresi, berpendapat, mengembangkan potensi, dan lain-lain.

Abstract

This study examines strategies for preserving the Ithuk-ithukan tradition as part of the cultural identity of the Osing tribe in Rejopuro Hamlet. The research focuses on how this tradition is passed down and preserved amid modern social changes. The objectives of the study are to investigate preservation practices, the role of the younger generation, and technological adaptation efforts in maintaining cultural sustainability. The method used is qualitative research with a case study approach, involving interviews with traditional leaders, participatory observation, and documentation of ritual activities. The results show the active involvement of the younger generation in ritual processions, the making of Ithuk, and the use of social media as a means of education and cultural preservation. The involvement of traditional leaders as cultural mentors has proven vital in maintaining traditional values and the continuity of rituals. The conclusion of the study confirms that a combination of cultural, social, and technological approaches is an effective strategy for preserving the Ithuk-ithukan tradition. Recommendations include increasing government support, empowering the younger generation, and optimizing information technology for sustainable cultural prese rvation. This research makes an important contribution to the study of anthropology and cultural sociology in Indonesia and provides a basis for the development of cultural policies that are responsive to social dynamics.

Abstract

The phenomenon of teenage girls wearing hijabs who smoke in Surabaya shows tension between religious identity, society's moral demands, and social dynamics that shape teen behavior. The hijab, seen as a symbol of piety, often puts women's bodies under strict moral scrutiny, while at the same time teens face pressure to fit in with their friends and digital culture. This study aims to understand the motivations, identity meanings, and the possibility that smoking is seen as a form of resistance to patriarchal norms. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were obtained through in-depth interviews and non-participatory observations of hijab-wearing adolescents aged 14–18 years, supplemented by a literature review on the social construction of women and radical feminist theory. The results show that motivation for smoking is the need for social acceptance, which is influenced by FOMO, peer pressure, and digital culture. This is reinforced by the ideological motive that this behavior reflects adolescents’ efforts to negotiate their sense of self. However, in certain contexts, smoking also serves as a form of symbolic resistance against patriarchal control over women’s bodies. This study concludedes that the identity of women who wear the hijab is not singular. It is shaped through complex interactions between social structures, popular culture, and personal experiences. These findings open up space for further research on the representation of women who wear the hijab in digital culture and its implications for the negotiation of gender identity in urban Muslim communities.
