Abstract

This research aimed to develop a workforce agility measuring tool with the situational judgment test (SJT) format and evaluate its psychometric properties. This research included 886 respondents with higher education. The data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and multi-group confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA). The CFA results showed that 18 items have satisfactory psychometric properties, thus forming a fit factor structure and providing validity evidence based on internal structure. Besides, the MGCFA results showed that this measuring instrument has measurement invariance at the strict invariance level to be used as validity evidence based on test consequences. The implication is that this measuring instrument has at least three of the five sources of validity to allow solid interpretations of the measuring results.

Abstract

Body dissatisfaction is a problem experienced by emerging adult women from various cultures, including those from Asia. The ease of accessing photo-based platforms like Instagram, and sociocultural attitudes may worsen the body image of social media users. Instagram posts can reflect ideal standards that are difficult to attain and the internal or external pressure on women to meet them. This study aimed to measure the role of sociocultural attitudes, i.e., internalization of beauty standards and social pressure, as a mediator of the relationship between Instagram photo activity and body dissatisfaction of women in emerging adulthood. This research involved 311 (M age=21.6, SD=1.87) female Instagram users, aged 18 to 24. This quantitative research used survey as the data collection method and regression with a mediation model for data analysis. Results showed that sociocultural attitudes have a positive role in the relationship between Instagram photo activity and the body dissatisfaction of adult female Instagram users. Future research can incorporate different participant groups and explore alternative models to measure the variables in this study.

Abstract

Cross-sector interorganizational exchanges are essential to meeting the needs of all parties involved. However, existing scales to evaluate such exchanges are scarce and are predominantly developed in Western contexts, which differ from Asia’s collectivist nature. This study developed a scale to assess interorganizational exchange relationships. Study 1 employed Straussian grounded theory with participants representing state-owned enterprises and community groups, using interviews and focus group discussions. Data were analysed using the Corbin and Strauss method, and the findings informed the item development for Study 2. Validity evidence based on the test construct was examined using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) with 20 participants, and item discrimination indices were calculated. Subsequently, data from 178 respondents were analysed through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The CFA results indicated that a unidimensional 27-item model provided the best fit, differing from the five dimensions identified in the qualitative study. Nonetheless, no relationship-related items were removed, highlighting the central role of relationships in interorganizational exchange within a collectivist society such as Indonesia.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed people to experience the situasion of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA) which has the potential to cause various mental health problems. Research on Intolerance of Uncertainty (IU) is immportant because of its crucial role as a risk factor for mental health disorders. Unfortunately, the measuring tool for that cognitive function has not yet been adapted into Indonesian culture and language. This Study aims to adapt the 12-item Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS-12) to Indonesia and determine the psychometric properties of the scale.

Abstract

The virtual team has been one of the solution strategies implemented by startups during the pandemic, in order to reduce virus spread (through physical and social distancing). The number of startups in Indonesia has been a great window of opportunity, however many startups have failed in the first year of operations, with the synergy of the teams being one of the principle causes. Unfortunately, studies on startup virtual teams in Indonesia are still lacking in portraying this situation. This study answers regarding the dynamics on startup virtual teams during the pandemic, with the aim of exploring the processes which took place within the startup virtual teams. The method used was that of convergent parallel mixed-methods, with the analysis of quantitative data from the questionnaires completed by 156 startup virtual teams, and of qualitative data from interviews conducted with five leaders of startup virtual teams. The study results indicated that the interaction of the teams was in mixed virtual form, i.e., the team interaction was performed not entirely online. Startup virtual teams during the pandemic conducted direct face-to-face interactions, prior to any virtual interaction, and/or were able to conduct face-to-face meetings during the pandemic, by paying attention to health protocols. These mixed virtual interactions created informal relationships, which supported the startups’ survival through the pandemic.

Abstract

Forgiveness is essential in marriage as it can bring a sense of satisfaction to married life. This study aims to adapt and examine the factor structure of the Marital Forgiveness Scale (MFS), a forgiveness instrument in the context of marriage. After the process of adaptation to the Indonesian language and culture, validity and reliability tests were conducted, and a MIMIC model was developed. In an online and offline survey, 330 millennials (128 husbands, 202 wives, M-marriage age = 25.33, SD-marriage age = 3.12) completed the Indonesian version of the MFS. The validity test was conducted using confirmatory factor analysis, with the results showing that the values obtained were satisfactory (CFI & TLI ≥ .95; RMSEA = .06; SRMR < .08). The multidimensionality measurement of the Indonesian version of the MFS consists of two dimensions, a positive and a negative. The omega coefficient for the Indonesian version of the MFS is .694 (positive dimension) and .787 (negative dimension), indicating satisfactory reliability in the millennial sample. The results of the MIMIC model show that items 2 and 3 in the negative dimension have gender variance in the MFS. The scale is a suitable measure for evaluating individuals’ dispositional forgiveness in Indonesian millennial marital couples. It is hoped that the instrument will contribute to the advancement of the study of forgiveness in the marital context in Indonesia.
