Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Develepment (R&D).Untuk menghasilkan suatu produk dengan pemilihan pengembangan yang baik maka menghasilkan produk yang baik juga. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development) adalah metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk tertentu, dan menguji keefektifan produk tersebut. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Prosedur pengembangan ADDIE meliputi 5 tahapan yaitu: Analyze (Analisis), Design (Perancang), Develop (Pengembangan), Implement (Implementasi), Evaluate (Evaluasi). Berdasarkan hasil dari penilaian praktisi oleh guru kelas IV SDN 10 Koto Baru mendapatkan hasil nilai 90 % dikategorikan sangat praktis. Dan Praktisi oleh siswa kelas IV SDN 10 Koto Baru mendapatkan hasil nilai 92,9% dikategorikan sangat praktis dengan memliki nilai rata-rata 91, 45 % kategori sangat praktis. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan hasil nilai yang tuntas 82, 35 % yang mana terdiri dari 14 orang siswa yang tuntas KKM dan 3 orang siswa yang tidak tuntas 17, 64 %, maka bahwa video animasi ini dikategorikan efektif. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran audio visual dikatakan efektif untuk digunakan oleh siswa SDN 10 Koto Baru pada saat proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan nilai KKM siswa

Abstract

The aimed of this research was to determine tu effect of using short story on students’ reading comprehension at MAS Raudlatul Asror Tebo. There were some problems in this research. First, they they did not have comprehending in reading and were unable to understand the content of the text. Second, they had difficulty getting information from the English text. Last, they still have inadequate vocabulary. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of using short story in teaching reading. The population of this research were 14 students. The sampling technique in this research used total sampling. The sample of this research X IPS consists of 14 students. The method used in this study is a quantitative method using pre-experimental design, one group pretest-posttest The data collection technique was taken by giving pre-test and post-test in the form of a multiple choice of 25 questions. Data analysis technique to improve reading comprehension used normality test and paired sample t-test. The result of paired sample t-test showed that the significance level was 0.000<0.05, wich mean Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it concluded the Short Story was effective to improve students reading comprehension at MAS Radlatul Asror Tebo

Abstract

This study aims to create interactive multimedia products in learning Natural Sciences, as well as to analyze how the effectiveness of the products produced. This research uses the method Research and Development (R&D) model Borg & Gall. The research was carried out through five steps, namely planning, initial product development, product validation, product testing, and final product results. Product validity test results were assessed by three validators, one material expert and two media experts. Sources of data were taken using a questionnaire to twenty junior high school students to test the effectiveness of the product being developed. The research results show that; related to the product validity test, material experts gave an average value of 4.7 with a valid category, then related to media experts gave an average value of 4.78 with a valid category. While the results of the analysis of product effectiveness trials in learning obtained an average value of 4.66 meaning that the products that have been produced are in the "very effective" category. Referring to the results of this study, the product that has been produced can be used as a medium for learning natural sciences in junior high schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Penggunaan Strategi Calla terhadap Peningkatan Kemampuan Membaca Teks Deskriptif Siswa Kelas VII SMPN 01 Timpeh. Ada beberapa masalah dalam penelitian ini. Pertama, kurangnya kosa kata siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dan siswa menjadi pasif di dalam kelas. Kedua, Siswa kurang motivasi membaca dan berdampak pada membaca siswa akan menurunkan semangat belajar siswa dan mempengaruhi hasil belajarnya. Ketiga, siswa sulit mendapatkan ide pokok dalam membaca, dan dampaknya, siswa tidak tertarik membaca teks bahasa Inggris dan siswa tidak suka belajar bahasa Inggris. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 63 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII B sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 22 siswa. Sedangkan kelas VII C sebagai kelas kontrol terdiri dari 20 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen semu. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan pre-test dan post-test berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 25 soal. Teknik analisis data untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa menggunakan analisis deskriptif, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, independent sample t-test, dan N-Gain. Hasil independent sample t-test menunjukkan tingkat signifikansi 0,000>0,05. Nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,47 termasuk dalam kategori sedang dan nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas kontrol sebesar 0,24 termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Artinya Ha diterima sedangkan Ho ditolak. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode strategi CALLA efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Timpeh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ice breaking terhadap pembelajaran siswa dalam pembelajaran simple present tense di SMPN 23 Tebo. Ada beberapa masalah dalam penelitian ini. Pertama, siswa kurang aktif di kelas. Kedua, memberikan motivasi. Terakhir, perbanyak kosakata. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan ice breaking dalam pembelajaran simple present tense. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 26 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan total sampling. Sampel penelitian VIII ini terdiri dari 26 siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain pre-experimental, one group pretest-posttest. Teknik pengumpulan data diambil dengan memberikan pre-test dan post-test dalam bentuk pilihan ganda sebanyak 25 soal. Teknik analisis data untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji t-test berpasangan. Hasil uji t sampel berpasangan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat signifikansi adalah 0,000<0,05, yang berarti Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Jadi disimpulkan Ice Breaking efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran simple present tense di SMPN 23 Tebo.

Abstract

Penelitian ini ditulis untuk membuat pengembangan bahan ajar bahasa Inggris berbasis tugas untuk mahasiswa bahasa Inggris. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan materi bahasa Inggris bagi siswa dengan valid, praktis, dan efektif. Tujuan jangka panjang penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat mahasiswa bahasa inggris mampu menguasai 16 tenses yang ada dalam grammar bahasa inggris. Bahan ajar ini dikembangkan dengan menggunakan pendekatan berbasis tugas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate).

Abstract

This study aims to analyzed of Figurative Language Used in selected Taylor Swift songs in the midnight album and its Contribution to English Teaching in Senior High School". The figurative language found in Taylor Swift's songs is analyzed into three types, meanings, and their contribution to English teaching. The writer used Abbrams' theory (1999) as an indicator in this study and SLA theory applied as the second theoretical for this study regarding to the beneficial and contribution of song lyrics for English teaching in teaching English as foreign language. In this study, the writer used a qualitative method. The author focuses on five types of figurative language analysis, namely hyperbole, metaphor, simile, irony, and personification. The research data were obtained from five songs in Taylor Swift's "midnight" album. The songs are "snow on the beach", "anti hero", "you're on your own kid", "bigger than the whole sky", "high infidelity". After analyzing the data, the writer found twenty-eight figurative language expressions, including thirteen hyperboles, eight metaphors, three similes, two ironies, and two personifications. Hyperbole is the most used figurative language in in selected Taylor Swift songs in the midnight album. In addition, this research contributes to the teaching of English. The data found that this research contributes to the teaching of English

Abstract

Terdapat dua permasalahan krusial yang dialami oleh mitra sebagai urgensi pengabdian, yakninya di bidang manajemen dan pemasaran. Hambatan di bidang manajemen adalah terkait keterbatasan kemampuan pemilik usaha dalam melakukan pembukuan otomatis. Saat ini, pemilik usaha masih menggunakan pembukuan manual. Sehingga menghambat kemajuan usaha karena belum jelasnya pembukuan antara harta, kewajiban, modal, laba dan penjualan yang didapat. Masalah lain yang dialami mitra adalah terkait pemasaran. Produk serundeng ini memang sudah dipromosikan melalui Instagram, namun belum efektif. Selanjutnya, kemasan serundeng ini baru sebatas pada nama produk, kontak pemilik dan label halal. Sedangkan deskripsi produk, bahan baku dari produk belum tercantum, serta desain dari label yang masih seadanya dan belum menarik. Program pengabdian ini memiliki dua tujuan utama sekaligus sebagai solusi yang ditawarkan. Pertama, program ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki aspek manajemen dengan memberikan pelatihan pembukuan menggunakan Microscoft Excel. Kedua, memperbaiki aspek pemasaran dengan memberikan pelatihan digital marketing dan pelabelan produk. Label produk akan dibuat dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris. Setelah diberikan pendampingan intensif, mitra sudah mampu mengoperasikan Microscoft Excel untuk pembukuan usaha, mitra bisa memasarkan produknya di media sosial dan mampu membuat label produk yang menarik dan informatif untuk peningkatan penjualan

Abstract

This study aims to investigate Indonesian senior high school teachers’ perceptions of using the first language (L1) when teaching English because Indonesian teachers tend to have negative perceptions toward the application of the L1, while the L1 is needed in a situation where Indonesian students have limited skills in English. The semi-structured interview was applied to collect data, while thematic analysis was used to analyse it. The result showed that the teachers have three different positions in perceiving the use of the L1: the virtual position, maximal, and optimal positions. Although they have different perceptions toward the application of the L1, a major insight can be concluded about the limited use of the L1 for specific reasons, such as considering teachers’ and students’ English abilities, learners’ needs, and the type and the difficulty of the given task or assignment. The L1 can be functioned as scaffolding in three aspects: when teaching grammar, vocabulary, and when giving instructions. Teachers may consider this study’s results as the information to use the L1 in classrooms. This may also be beneficial for Indonesian educational stakeholders and the government to specifically define what type of scaffolding that teachers can use the L1 to teach English.

Abstract

Task-based language teaching (TBLT is a recently developed approach that has received significant attention from researchers in recent years. In this paper, TBLT refers to an approach that defines the use of tasks in various classroom activities in order to develop students' language skills. It is believed that TBLT offers different advantages in improving English skills, particularly by involving students in speaking activities in the classroom and enhancing their communication abilities. Given the considerable amount of research focused on applying TBLT in speaking activities, it prompts the question of whether it can also improve other skills, such as writing and reading. Therefore, the article examines its usefulness and explores the use of TBLT for improving and enhancing language skills in three separate areas: speaking, writing, and reading. The results show that, with proper and thorough task development settings, it can be suggested that TBLT can effectively be implemented to increase students' ability to communicate, reinforce their writing performance, and develop their reading comprehension skills. In this essence, TBLT emphasizes activities that focus on the learner and enables teachers to provide guidance as facilitators and supervisors. During the exercise and activities, students also have a chance to participate in tasks organically as authentic learning experiences. While there are criticisms and concerns about using TBLT, researchers have recognized these challenges and contend they can be effectively resolved. Ultimately, the findings of this paper have provided novel viewpoints on the implementation of TBLT in various aspects of language learning, which can be a valuable approach for improving students' English proficiency.
