Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of employe turnover factors on work effectiveness thru risk management at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. The factors studied include job satisfaction, compensation, workload, role ambiguity, and relationships with supervisors. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method and Bow Tie Analysis. The sample consisted of 251 active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan employes selected using purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument uses a Likert scale-based questionnaire. Validity and reliability were tested thru outer loading, construct reliability, and AVE, as well as discriminant validity thru HTMT and the Fornell-Larcker Criterion. The results show that all five turnover factors significantly affect work effectiveness, both directly and thru risk management. The variables of job satisfaction (? = 0.379, p = 0.000) and relationship with superiors (? = 0.173, p = 0.016) have a significant positive influence. Conversely, workload (? = -0.149, p = 0.000) and role ambiguity (? = -0.117, p = 0.000) have a negative influence. Risk control was also proven to be a significant mediator. The R² value of 0.778 for work effectiveness indicates the model's strong predictive ability. This research integrates the SEM-PLS approach with Bow Tie Analysis in the context of public organizations, and provides an empirical contribution to turnover risk control strategies to improve work effectiveness.

Abstract

The phenomenon of high claims for Old Age Security (JHT) before retirement age poses a challenge to the sustainability of social security programs in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the behavioral and policy factors that influence JHT claim decisions and formulate strategies for optimizing the claim mechanism. The research method was conducted through Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) analysis of 232 respondents who were JHT participants who had made claims, as well as the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method involving 15 experts in the fields of social security, public policy, and financial behavior. The results show that the behavioral factors of loss aversion, present bias, and mental accounting have a significant effect on JHT claim decisions, supported by government regulations that reinforce the tendency for early claims. Meanwhile, the AHP results placed Effectiveness as the main criterion in determining strategy and produced optimal optimization strategy priorities in the form of increasing financial literacy and socializing mindset changes based on behavioral economics, followed by reformulating JHT disbursement policies and other supporting strategies. This study confirms that JHT claim behavior is influenced by psychological biases and prevailing policies, so optimization efforts need to be directed towards educational approaches, policy reforms, and sustainable service innovations.

Abstract

Universities pursuing Green University status often face a critical conflict between sustainability mandates and the deep-seated cultural tradition of receiving floral boards (papan bunga), which generates massive, unmanageable waste. This study applies the Design Thinking methodology to resolve this cultural-environmental conflict at a state university in South Tangerang. Through the Empathize and Define stages, the study identified that the root problem lay not in waste management, but in the cultural habit of sending physical tokens. Consequently, the Ideate phase formulated a "Dual-Strategy Approach": a Primary Prototype (Official Appeal for Substitution) to eliminate the waste source, and a Secondary Prototype (Standardized Handling SOP) as a contingency for waste management. Field testing of the Primary Prototype during the Rector's Inauguration achieved a 100% reduction in waste, reducing floral board deliveries from over 300 to zero, substituting 317 tree seedlings and digital greetings. Given this absolute success in prevention, the Secondary Prototype (SOP) was not operationally executed but was validated as a necessary blueprint for future compliance risks. While the intervention effectively eliminated the waste source, the high volume of substituted seedlings introduced a new logistical challenge regarding land allocation. The study concludes that shifting the operational focus from downstream handling to upstream prevention via formal policy nudging is the most effective strategy for achieving genuine zero-waste targets in academic institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to design a point-based skincare packaging recycling model using the Design Thinking approach to address the persistent intention–action gap in consumer recycling behavior. The research also explores how circular business practices can be integrated into educational management, particularly in sustainability education and green campus initiatives. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining a survey of 60 consumers with semi-structured interviews involving local skincare SMEs. The Theory of Planned Behavior and circular economy principles were used to analyze the roles of awareness, perceived ease, incentives, and behavioral intention. Results indicate that although environmental awareness is high (≈95%), actual recycling participation is low (16%). Accessibility barriers and insufficient incentives emerged as the strongest predictors of participation intention. Through iterative Design Thinking stages, this study developed the Circular Chain Return & Reward (CCRR) model, which incorporates QR-based tracking, drop-point networks, point rewards, and transparent digital reporting. Simulation findings show that more than 90% of respondents would participate when convenience and tangible rewards are provided. The model offers managerial implications for skincare SMEs and educational institutions by strengthening sustainability management, increasing stakeholder engagement, and supporting curriculum or program development related to environmental responsibility.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a community-based digital innovation to enhance university students' participation in sports activities. Despite the widespread use of digital technology, students often struggle with limited information, coordination issues, and a lack of collaborative platforms. Using the design thinking approach, the research focuses on the development of the "CampusPlay" application. The study follows the four stages of design thinking: empathize, define, ideate, and prototype, excluding the testing phase. The findings suggest that students require a digital platform to help find sports partners, manage schedules, and implement a deposit-based payment system to improve commitment. The CampusPlay wireframe incorporates key features, such as "Find Partner" and "Create Match," promoting social collaboration and efficient management of campus sports activities. The design thinking methodology proves effective in creating user-centered, community-driven digital solutions that foster social sustainability within the university context.

Abstract

Village-Owned Enterprises in Indonesia face challenges in increasing the resilience, competitiveness, and empowerment of rural communities. Therefore, business diversification is an important strategy to support inclusive development. This study examines the utilization of business diversification techniques by village-owned enterprises in Indonesia to improve resilience, competitiveness, and empower rural communities. Employing a grounded theory methodology, data were gathered via comprehensive interviews and focus group discussions with principal stakeholders of village-owned enterprises. The coding method, which included open, axial, and selective coding with NVivo 12, produced a theoretical framework elucidating the determinants, strategies, and consequences of village-owned enterprises diversification. The results indicate that effective diversification is influenced by four interconnected factors: innovation, collaborative governance, digital transformation, and community participation. Janti Jaya village-owned enterprises had substantial growth via agrotourism, e-ticketing, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises facilitation, and Corporate Social Responsibility collaborations, generating IDR 4 billion in revenue during the first semester of 2023 and receiving acknowledgment as one of the Top 15 “Desa Brilian.” Karunia Sejahtera VOE utilized Umbul Ngrundul’s tourism and digital services to strengthen sustainability, while the study extends grounded theory and offers policy insights on innovation, governance, and collaboration for inclusive rural development.

Abstract

The growth of the national railway industry, the expansion of rail networks, and the increasing safety standards have driven the need for more modern, integrated, and sustainable railway infrastructure maintenance services. These conditions create opportunities to diversify into the railway infrastructure maintenance business. This study aims to formulate appropriate strategies for the company to enter the industry competitively. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach supported by quantitative analysis. This research integrates the PESTLE framework, Porter’s five forces, VRIO, SWOT–TOWS, and the quantitative strategic planning matrix. Data were collected through expert interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis. The results show that the track maintenance industry has high entry barriers, significant dependence on OEMs, strong buyer power, and complex technological and certification requirements. However, opportunities emerge through long-term Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contracts, urban/HSR projects, maintenance digitalization, and technical specialization in track and slab-track segments. The priority strategies derived include forming OEM alliances, strengthening equipment capacity, establishing an internal certification academy, and adopting predictive maintenance to improve tender scores and SLA performance. These findings provide strategic direction to expand its portfolio and strengthen competitiveness in the railway maintenance sector.
