Abstract

Introduction: Honey has been widely used as a nutritional supplement and medicine. Many herbal honey products are developed as nutritional supplements that are combined with SFM to make them more effective, but there are still many shortcomings due to the unpleasant taste produced, unattractive physical appearance, and high susceptibility to oxidation reactions that cause severe damage to the quality of honey, especially in the content of active substances, viscosity, and pH, which can cause the effectiveness of honey to decrease and result in product failure as nutritional supplements to treat stunting problems. We have developed an herbal honey multi-nutrient supplement that combines honey with black cumin oil and Curcuma xanthorriza extract called HBCX. Adding Curcuma xanthorriza extract and black cumin oil to honey is expected to increase honey's benefits as an antioxidant. This study aims to determine the physicochemical characteristics (pH and viscosity), heavy metal contamination content, polyphenols, and antioxidant activity. Methods: This experimental laboratory research was conducted at the Pharmacy Lab, Faculty of Pharmacy, UAD. The viscosity and pH of HBCX were observed using an Ostwald viscometer and a pH meter. Total phenol determined by Folin-Ciocalteau reagent and gallic acid standard. Determination of antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. The data are presented in a quantitative descriptive manner and matched with the SNI honey standard. Results: The results showed that HBCX herbal honey had a higher viscosity than the sampled honey from the market but was still lower than the SNI requirements. HBCX honey has a lower pH than sample honey products from the market but still complies with national standards. HBCX honey is safe from heavy metal contamination and contains polyphenols. The antioxidant activity of HBCX honey is relatively high, with IC50=54.78 ppm. Conclusion: HBCX has high polyphenol content, is safe from heavy metal contamination, and has sufficient antioxidant activity.

Abstract

Abstract

The use of herbs as part of traditional health efforts is still widely in demand by the community, so the role of health cadres is needed in providing appropriate education. This study aims to analyze the effect of training on the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of health cadres at Kasihan I Health Center regarding the use of herbs. The research method used was quantitative with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The results of the analysis showed that training had a positive effect on increasing knowledge and changing the behavior of cadres in the use and counseling of herbs. Training had a significant effect on the attitudes (p = 0.00) and behavior (p = 0.002) of health cadres about herbs. However, the effect on attitudes was not statistically significant. These findings indicate the importance of strengthening the affective aspect in training programs so that changes in attitudes occur in line with increased knowledge and behavior.

Abstract

Introduction : Patients with head injuries have a high risk of organ trauma. Organ trauma can occur in conjunction with head injuries, especially in cases of accidents involving violent impact. The energy of the impact usually does not affect only one area of the body. The head may be lightly impacted, but other parts of the body may also be injured. Not all parts of the body receive the same severity of impact. The head may suffer minor injuries while other parts of the body may suffer more severe injuries. Case precentation : A 22-year-old man came to the emergency department of Yogyakarta City Hospital delivered by an ambulance with complaints of lower abdominal pain, the pain felt widespread, the patient complained of not being able to eat and drink, nausea and vomiting, left leg pain when lifted. Physical examination revealed vulnus excoriation. The diagnosis of mild head injury accompanied by multiple trauma can be established by history taking, physical examination, neurological examination, and supporting examinations such as laboratory, X-ray, and abdominal ultrasonography. Discussion : Non-helmeted riders experience more severe head and facial injuries than helmeted riders. Riders who did not wear helmets had poorer mental status than those who did, and their mean GCS scores were usually lower than those who wore helmets. This suggests that there is a relationship between head protection, or helmets, and the severity of motorcyclists' injuries, and that when motorcyclists do not wear helmets, injuries and the risk of injury are greater. Conclusion : The patient suffered a mild head injury with multiple organ trauma after physical and supporting examinations. The patient's head injury can be minimized because the patient was still wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Abstract

Cases of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes are often experienced by people with old age. Even in the Bantul region, this disease is included in the 10 groups of diseases that many people suffer. There needs to be independence from the community so that they do not depend on health service facilities such as the nearest health center. There are health cadres, providing education, carrying out actions with sticky media games, and closing with a temporary blood sugar level check. The method used to test the results of the service that has been carried out is by pre-test and post-test. Based on the test results, there is a significant relationship between knowledge and attitude variables. This can be because respondents who have been exposed to information regarding the glycemic index of food have a positive attitude towards choosing low-glycemic foods. Although there is no good relationship between attitude and behavior. In addition, there was an increase in the number of respondents who answered correctly on the pre-test and post-test on the pre-knowledge variable from 81 people to 96 people, the attitude variable from 85 people to 95 people, and the behavior variable from 80 people to 90 people. In addition, examination of blood sugar levels while on the chart shows that 38% are in the pre-diabetic category and 62% have normal blood sugar levels. The conclusion is that there is a positive increase between knowledge and attitudes after being given interventions in the form of education and checking blood sugar levels.
