Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explain and describe the Existence of Motion in the Squirrel Janjang Art Performance as a Cultural Heritage of the Palebayan Community This research uses a qualitative research type with a descriptive method. This summary provides a brief overview of the research methods, research objects, instruments, data types, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques used in research on Janjang Tupai Art as a Cultural Heritage of the Palebayan Market Community which needs to be revitalized. From the story of Tupai Janjang, Tuak Ampek worked on it to become an art called Janjang Squirrel Art. Tupai Janjang art is a form of storytelling tradition in which a storyteller plays all the characters in the story while moving and singing. This performance is unique from Minangkabau traditional art, because there is no other form of performance where only one storyteller plays all the characters. Tuak Ampek took this story as a script, then turned it into an art called the Janjang Squirrel Art. In the Tupai Janjang art, one person plays all the characters in the story while moving and singing, whereas in randai, each character is played by a different actor. d. However, in its current form, two or three actors can take turns bringing this feeling to life with movement and singing that fits the story. The movement in the Tupai Janjang Art performance is based on the traditional movement of silat flowers called balabek. The revitalization efforts carried out by Osra Hayadi include data collection and the involvement of new generations in this art. The Existence of Motion in Tupai Janjang Art In performing the Tupai Janjang Art, there are many uses of traditional movements. In Seni Tupai Janjang, the actor will move according to the content of the story he is singing. In the Tupai Janjang Art performance, only accompanied by saluang, then the actors will sing while moving.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions of blended learning in dance subjects at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. The type of research is qualitative with a descriptive method. The research instrument is the researcher himself, assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. The data used are primary and secondary data. The data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, literature study, and documentation. The steps for analyzing data in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students' perceptions of blended learning in dance lessons were "not good."  In cultural arts lessons in blended learning at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang, it shows that students prefer face-to-face learning, even though the time allocation is reduced to 2x30 minutes. This is because cultural arts (dance) lessons have more practice than theory. It can be seen from the evaluation indicators in dance learning at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang in class XI IPS. Students prefer direct or face-to-face learning rather than online learning because cultural arts subjects require more practice than theory. Therefore, learning the blended learning model makes student motivation decrease, so that learning achievement in cultural arts (dance) subjects is less achieved. Students underestimate the learning of cultural arts (dance).

Abstract

This article aims to describe and reveal the role of Indonesian dance as an enrichment of Indonesian knowledge for students at SMA Negeri 2 Kota Pariaman. This type of research is qualitative research using the demonstration method. The instrument for this research is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments such as writing equipment and a camera. Data was collected through observation, interviews, literature study and documentation. Data was analyzed using the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display and data verification. The results of the research show that the implementation of Indonesian dance training at SMA 2 Pariaman has been running in accordance with the achievement indicators of extra-curricular activities, namely building knowledge and insight as well as dance skills with an Indonesian perspective. The impact of the Nusantara dance training at SMA 2 Pariaman is that students' insight into the Archipelago increases in terms of knowing and understanding cultural identity and cultural aspects attached to the Nusantara dance being trained. Students can understand the Archipelago insight from the aspects of movement, music, costumes and dance procedures or the dance style of the dance.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and find out the uniqueness of Silek Pangian Rantau Batanghari in Jorong, Surau Village, Kenagarian Gunung Selasih, Pulau Punjung District, Dharmasraya Regency. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. This research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data were collected through literature studies, conservation, interviews and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, educating data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results of the study that Silek Pangian is a silek that entered Jorong Kampung Surau in the 1950s and was displayed at a trustful pilgrimage event at Laman Tuo Sungai Dareh. The uniqueness of Silek Pangian's presentation lies in its soft and vigorous but deadly movements by taking moves in a soft way. The elements and presentation of Silek Pangian are as follows: (1) consists of Salam, Step Ampek, Sembek, pitaluang, Tikam, Pangka Dahan, Ujuang dahan, Sambuik Lantiang (2) Floor Design (3) Music Accompaniment namely Talempong Pacik 4) 2 players (5) The costumes used are black Taluak Balango shirts, black silek pants, black peci, and a torn cloth tied to the player's waist. (6) outdoor performance venues or fields.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and reveal the ability of students and the application of class B theory of Dance Structuring & Creation of FBS UNP 2020 Dance Education Study Program in understanding dance creation theory. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The informant for this research is a Class B Sendratasik (Dance) Education Study Program Student from FBS Padang State University and a Lecturer in the Dance Creation Course. This research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data are collected through literature study, observation, interviews, documentation. The steps of analyzing data are data collection, data presentation, data reduction and data verification. The results showed that the phenomenon of dance students in dance creation has applied theories and methods of structuring and creating dance into the dance works of Naga Sakti, Salam Baindang, and Gadis Berias. The answer from the resource person can be said to be valid if the lecturer of the dance Structuring & Creation course has provided evaluation results on the conclusion table that the researcher has made and attached, because the researcher will interpret the table above, the researcher also needs cooperation to see valid results with the lecturer who teaches the Dance Structuring & Creation course in class B of the Dance Structuring & Creation Study Program Class of 2020 FBS UNP. A mature RPS and the achievement of RPS into a course become the main thing and basic science for students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the learning interest of students in the class of SMK Negeri 5 Padang and the factors that influence students' interest in dance at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting equipment such as stationery, mobile phones and recorders. Data collection techniques through literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The stages of exploratory analysis are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The lack of student interest in learning outside Dance in the material of the cultural arts teacher of SMK Negeri 5 Padang did not update the teaching material and also did not change the teaching method. Factors that influence students' interest in non-dance education at SMK Negeri 5 Padang are internal and external factors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study describes the impact of extracurricular activities on the dancing skills of SMP Negeri 34 Kerinci students. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The object of research is students of SMP Negeri 34 Kerinci. This research instrument is the researcher himself. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, literature study, interviews and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, identifying data, classifying data and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students' lack of confidence when doing dance exercises in extracurricular activities, due to students' fear when the teacher told students to come forward and also difficult to understand the material taught, difficult to capture the movements taught by the teacher. The results of the evaluation of dance extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 34 Kerinci proved that of the 34 people tested, there were 20 students who got A (Very Good), 10 students got B (Good) and 4 students got C (enough). From the overall evaluation results, the teacher held a meeting with the principal for students who got the highest score (Very Good) to be included to take part in the Kerinci Regency FLS2N next year, and had the opportunity to participate in inter-school competitions such as Exspo and Pensi. This shows that SMP Negeri 34 Kerinci is progressing.

Abstract

This paper is aiming at revealing the existence of local wisdom values in Minangkabau through the representation of Minangkabau dance creation at present time in West Sumatera. The existence of the dance itself gives impact to the continuation of the existence of local value in West Sumatera. The research method was qualitative which was used to analyze local wisdom values in the present time Minangkabu dance creation representation through the touch of reconstruction and acculturation as the local wisdom continuation. Besides, this study employs multidisciplinary study as the approach of the study by implementing the sociology anthropology of dance and the sociology and anthropology of culture. Object of the research was Minangkabau dance creation in present time, while the data was collected through interview and direct observation, as well as documentation. The data was analyzed by following the technique delivered by Miles and Huberman. Research results showed that Minangkabau dance creation was a reconstruction result of the older traditional dance, and through acculturation which contains local wisdom values. The existence of Mianngkabau dance creation can affect the continuation of local wisdom values in Minangkabau society in West Sumatera. The existence of dance creation has maintained the Minangkabau local wisdom values in present time.

Abstract

This article intends to uncover a concept of developing tradition-art groups in West Sumatra, which is considered that they have been left behind by modern-art groups in terms of packing aspect, presentation, and technical skills. Hence, this article reveals intervention of the academician in developing and providing support in the forms of improving skills and knowledge of the artists and art groups. The support includes improving skills and knowledge of expressing arts through giving packing techniques and arranging art performance, orientated toward educational and social extension actions. The knowledge may consist of techniques for developing movements, dance music, costumes, and make-up affecting skills of arranging and packing performance arts that can be divested in art industries. The method used in this investigation was games that aimed to cope with boredom and improve new awareness of concepts of how to pack performance arts. In addition, the case study was employed to solve problems faced by partners in the field. Moreover, practices about how to pack the arts were critical to be done through brainstorming, discussing, and lecturing.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aims to explain the existence of Tari Piring dance as a culture identity of Minang- kabau people, both the people who live in the origin area and outside the area. Tari Piring dance is a traditional cultural heritage of Minangkabau people which is used and preserved by Minangkabau people in their life so that it becomes culture identity of Minangkabau people. As the identity of Minangkabau people, Piring dance is able to express attitudes and behaviors as well as the charac- teristics of Minangkabau people. The dance can serve as a reflection of social and cultural life style of Minangkabau society. Through Tari Piring performance, the outsider can understand Minangkabau people and their culture. Tari Piring, therefore, is getting more adhere to the social life of Minang- kabau people in West Sumatra and in the regions overseas. In the spirit of togetherness, Minang- kabau society preserves the existence of Piring dance as the identity and cultural heritage up to the present time. Keywords: Piring Dance, Minangkabau culture  ABSTRAK Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan keberadaan Tari Piring sebagai identitas bu- daya masyarakat Minangkabau, baik yang berada di daerah asal maupun di daerah peran- tauan. Tari Piring merupakan warisan budaya tradisional masyarakat Minangkabau yang digunakan dan dilestarikan oleh masyarakat Minangkabau dalam kehidupannya sehingga menjadi identitas budaya Minangkabau. Sebagai jati diri masyarakat Minangkabau, Tari Piring mampu mengungkapkan sikap dan prilaku serta karakteristik orang Minangkabau. Tari Piring dapat berperan sebagai cerminan dari corak kehidupan sosial budaya masyara- kat Minangkabau. Melalui pertunjukan Tari Piring, masyarakat luar dapat memahami orang Minangkabau dan budayanya. Oleh karena itu, sampai saat ini Tari Piring semakin melekat dengan kehidupan sosial masyarakat Minangkabau di Sumatera Barat maupun di daerah perantauan.
