Abstract

Finding of previous studies shows that Sumatera Economic Corridor is categorized as the highest income inequality. The Indonesian goverment enacts MP3EI (Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia Economic Development) program to promote equitable development where each economic corridor owns strategic economic sector. The objective of this study is to analyze the contribution of agricultural sector on income inequality in Sumatera Economic Corridor (SEC) using a weighted coefficient of variation. We use secondary time series data of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), number of population, and per capita income of a time range between 2002 and 2013. Data analysis shows that agricultural sector has the least contribution on income inequality. Consequently, goverment policy should be focusing on the development of agricultural sector in Sumatera Economic Corridor

Abstract

This study assessed the performance of 32 village unit co-operatives (KUD) in Yogyakarta Special Region during 2011 to 2012. The efficiency level of the KUD were evaluated by employing the data envelopment analysis and multiple regression analysis using panel data to determine the factors affecting efficiency level. Efficiency analysis was decomposed into three dimensions to explore possible sources of inefficiency. According to Marwa and Aziakpono (2016), the first dimension was technical efficiency, which explored the overall effectiveness of transforming the productive inputs into desired outputs compared to the data-driven frontier of best practice. The second dimension was pure technical efficiency, which captured managerial efficiency in the intermediation process. The third dimension was scale efficiency, which explored whether KUD were operating in an optimal scale of operation or not. The results found that the average scores are 64%, 92%, and 68% for technical, pure technical, and scale efficiency respectively in 2011, while in 2012 the average scores are 57%, 94%, and 60% for technical, pure technical, and scale efficiency. Factors having significantly positive impact on several measures of efficiency are incentive and dummy variables (agriculture inputs and hand tractor). Accounts receivable only has positive relationship to pure technical efficiency. On the other hand, rice milling unit and electricity services have negative impact with several measures of efficiency.

Abstract

The aims of this study were (1) to determine the trend of retail rice price in Indonesia and the price of grain at the farmer level in Indonesia and (2) to identify the vertical integration of the rice market in Indonesia. The monthly data of retail rice price and the price of grain at the farmer level (price of harvested dried grain at the farmer level) in Indonesia during January 2008 - January 2016 were used in this study. The least squares method was applied to determine the trend of prices, while Co-integration Model of Engle-Granger and ECM was used to estimate the vertical integration of Indonesian rice market. The results indicated that both types of prices had an upward trend. In the analysis of the vertical integration of rice market in Indonesia, there was a long-term balance relationship and short-term equilibrium relationship.

Abstract

The behavior of the farmers to using the fertilizer could be influenced by some factors. The factors such as social environment, culture, agriculture differentiate the way of using intensity the fertilizer. That behavior can also be different to what fertilizer the farmers use. The study aims to identify and analyze the behavior of farmers in using intensity of the liquid fertilizer products. The research was conducted by using a survey approach through interviews and questions (questionnaire) to 100 respondents of onion farmers in Brebes District Central Java on April until May 2015. Factors affecting the using intensity were analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis. As the result shows in this study show that the using intensity of the liquid fertilizer is influenced by the income, the experience in planting the onions, how large the land, the productivity of the onion, the cultivating season, the recommendations from other farmers, field trials, and recommendations from the fertilizer store. The implication of the study is the farmers behavior to using the fertilizer is not only influenced of rational factors but also influenced by psychosocial factors. Government efforts to educate farmers about the benefits and risks to using liquid fertilizer need involves both aspects.

Abstract

The price fluctuation of cayenne pepper in Indonesia is relatively high. Price fluctuations have an impact on consumers significantly when prices increase. This causes consumers to find it challenging to fulfil their daily needs for chilli. The effects of price fluctuations for farmers, namely: farmers have difficulty making production decisions. This causes the risk of cayenne pepper farming to become high. Predicting the price of cayenne pepper in the future is an effort to minimize the risk of cayenne pepper farming and industries requiring cayenne pepper. This study aims (1) to determine the forecasting model for cayenne pepper prices in Surabaya City (2) to predict the price of cayenne pepper during the period January 2020 - June 2020 in the Surabaya City using the ARIMA method. The analyzed data is cayenne pepper prices from July 2010 to December 2019 sourced from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). The analysis results show that the best ARIMA model in estimating the price of red chilli in Surabaya is ARIMA (1,0,1), with a MAPE of 3.84%. The forecast results for the price of cayenne pepper in Surabaya are proven and have decreased.

Abstract

Rational criticism of Islam that developed Arkoun in studying a problem or not text other is to get the "real substance" which may be knocked out, forgotten, or even not at all unthinkable, with the approach of linguistic, psychological, historical, and social and cultural anthropology. By referring to the style of thought Derrid, Paul Ricour, Michael Foucault, Pierre Bordue, in the field of language, Arkoun reveal diversity not previously seen and not said in the text. With the demolition was he trying to find the meaning of which is lost or created by the freezing process that afflicts thought Islam.Dengan deconstruction allows the things that have not occurred or even unthinkable to be revealed can be revealed. By restoring the purity of the teachings in accordance with the objectives desired by God (author). The primary objective reasoning criticism of Islam is to free thought of all sorts of images and imagery narrow, because it is not possible for Islamic reason to think clearly for such images still lingering in their reasoning. Rational criticism of Islam also aims to distinguish between revelation and history, transcendent revelation to restore the position of the original. This refund because they said there was a reduction in the value it contains after experiencing intermingling with human history (ideological, political, and interests). Here we need the critical stance, against all kinds of teologisme Islam (including all branches epistimologi like: fiqh, tafsir, the science of kalam, Aqeedah, and so on). Because after all, all it is a human creation as well, and we are entitled to put it on the table criticism.

Abstract

Al-Ghazali was a controversial figure. Many scientists adore him but many others condemn him. Hundreds of books have been discussed about his thinking. Thus it until now still remains interesting to study. Prominent Al-Ghozali has been and is still one of the biggest figures in the Muslim world similar to the position of August and Aquinas in the Christian world. Even some schoolars from Islam (particularly Sunni) and from Europe have looked Ghazali as a multidimensional characters, he was a theologian, philosopher, sufi and jurist. However, some Muslims consider al-Ghazali as the cause of the decline of Islam, because of his book Tahafut al-Falasifah. In fact Muslims are not ready with different opinions. Due to the differences of opinion in theology, hundreds or even thousands of peoples have been the victims throughout the Islamic history. The paper will discuss about the controversial thought of Al Ghazali, namely: the problem of natural immortality, The God’s knowledgement on universal problem not the particular one, and the resurrection of the body in hereafter. In spite of the strong opposition of al-Ghazali’s philosophy, the opposition only covers on the issues of his metaphisics thought and concealing another aspect such as using Aristotelian logic to think about God.
