Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of financial performance on economic growth with the allocation of capital expenditure as an intervening variable in District/City Governments in Jambi Province. The financial performance variables measured were the degree of fiscal decentralization, growth of PAD, effectiveness of PAD, financial efficiency and BUMD’s contribution. Data analyzed using path analysis with AMOS program were based on secondary data in the form of panel data sourced from district/city APBD datas in Jambi Province. The results showed that only the degree of fiscal decentralization, the effectiveness of PAD and financial efficiency had direct effect on the allocation of capital expenditure. In addition, only growth of PAD, effectiveness of PAD, financial efficiency and allocation of capital expenditures had direct effect on economic growth. The capital expenditure allocation variable only partially mediated the effect of the fiscal decentralization, PAD effectiveness and financial efficiency on economic growth. Abstract

The study aims to analyze: 1) individual characteristics and profession of elderly in Jambi province; 2) socioeconomic factors affecting involvement of elderly in labor market. Data used in this study is from “raw data” National Socio-Economic Survey or Survei Sosial Ekonomi Nasionnal (SUSENAS) of Jambi Province in 2015. The results of the study reveals: 1) the number of elderly working is relatively large. Nearly half (48,99 percent) of elderly have working as their main activity; 2) the characteristics of elderly who work are: a) predominant in rural areas; b) predominant by men; c) generally has status as the head of the family; d) generally less educated (only graduate from primary school or below); e) mostly working in agricultural with a relatively long working hours; 3) The results of binary logistic regression show that age, sex, education, marital status, status in family, health conditions, and location of rural-urban affect significantly involvement of elderly in labor market.

Abstract

Boarding school is one of the oldest education institution in the national education system. Pesantren functions as a center for the spread of Islam, with a concentration of education in shaping Muslim people with a high understanding of three main problems, namely God, humans, and nature. Regarding its function as an educational institution, the aim of the Pesantren is to form individuals who excel in the field of understanding and practicing Islamic teachings for students or students in their daily lives. therefore it is necessary to have a good management of Pesantren in the development of Islamic religious education. Therefore, through this paper, the author wants to reveal how good management of Islamic boarding schools is in the development of Islamic religious education in the regional office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi province. To obtain data that supports this article, the author uses a qualitative-naturalistic approach. Through this qualitative approach, it is hoped that a picture of the quality, social reality and perceptions of the research objectives will be exposed without being contaminated by formal measurements. So it can be concluded that there are several obstacles and recommendations for solutions in the management of Pesantren in the development of Islamic religious education in the regional office of the Ministry of Religion of Jambi province.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) analyze the impact of illegal gold mining (IGM) on social, economic, and environmental conditions as well as the problems faced by families in the IGM area; 2) Formulate strategies for handling the impact of IGM on family welfare. The research was conducted in Pangkalan Jambu District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The type of data used is primary data sourced from family respondents and informants in the area around mining. Data were collected through questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The results of the analysis found that IGM activities in general have been able to grow new job opportunities and increase people's income. However, from social and environmental aspects, there are various negative impacts of IGM on family welfare. Therefore, in dealing with the impact of IGM on family welfare, three policy strategies are recommended, namely: 1) increasing family capacity; 2) strengthening the values ​​of local wisdom and social capital in society; 3) People's Mining Area and Small-Scale Mining programs. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between poverty and inequality in rural and urban areas by using the Granger causality test approach. This research method uses the Granger causality test analysis tool with rural and urban areas as objects in all provinces in Indonesia with use data from thirty four province and period year from 2014 until 2020. The results of the Granger causality test for rural areas show that there is a realtionship unidirectional relationship between poverty and inequality, the relationship shows significant inequality that causes poverty in rural areas, that meaning in rural area absolute poverty happen because inequality income distribution, while the results of causality tests for urban areas show that there is no relationship at all between poverty and inequality in the urban areas. that meaning In urban areas no causality between absolute poverty and inequality income distribution, this result shows that poverty and inequality in urban areas do not contain a direct one way or two-way relationship.

Tujuan dari kegatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk  mensosialisasikan peranan Badan Usaha Milik Desa dalam rangka meningkatkan pendapatan asli desa. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Pemayung Kabupaten Batanghari, diikuti oleh 24 perangkat desa dan pengelola BUMDes. Materi yang  diberikan mencakup Undang-Undang Nomor 6 Tahun 2014 tentang Desa dan Badan Usaha Milik Desa.

Abstract

This research is a development of the theory of poverty, this study descriptively analyzes relative poverty and income distribution inequality and examines the causal relationship between relative poverty and income inequality in all provinces in Indonesia by using the Granger causality test analysis tool. Based on the results of the causality test, it shows that there is a unidirectional relationship between relative poverty and income distribution inequality, where it is the inequality of income distribution that causes relative poverty

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertjuan untuk menganalisis: (1) Struktur PAD dan APBD berdasarkan komposisinya, (2) Pertumbuhan PAD serta kontribusinya terhadap APBD dan (3) Kemampuan keuangan daerah Kabupaten/Kota di Provinsi Jambi dalam melaksanakan otonomi daerah. Hasil penelitian antara lain menyimpulkan bahwa komposisi PAD terbesar berasal dari penerimaan lain-lain yang sah yaitu 42,32%;, komposisi tebesar dari APBD bersumber dari dana perimbangan sebesar 83,49%. Rata-rata pertumbuhan PAD kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jambi sebesar 18,48%; rata-rata kontribusi PAD terhadap APBD kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jambi sebesar 6,33%. Kemampuan keuangan daerah, Kabupaten Batang Hari, Kota Jambi dan Kabupaten Sarolangun yang memiliki status kemampuan keuangan tinggi dibanding kabupaten/kota lain di Provinsi Jambi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze whether the number of hotel room occupancy rate, the GDP of the tourism sector, the number of restaurants and eating houses, the average length of stay, and number of tourists influence the reception area of the tourism sector in the District / City of Jambi Province. The analysis used in this study is the analysis of growth, econometric analysis using panel data models, and analysis of barriers and opportunities. The results showed that simultaneous number of hotel room occupancy rate, the GDP of the tourism sector, the number of restaurants and eating houses, the average length of stay, and number of travelers significant effect on local revenues from the tourism sector in the District / City of Jambi Province. Abstract

The purpose of research is to 1). Analyzing the agro-industry group of SMEs that have the potential to be developed as an agro-industry clusters of SMEs in Jambi Province; (2. Analyze the various potentials, opportunities, barriers and challenges in the development of agro-industry SMEs in Jambi Province. The data used consist of primary data and secondary data. Primary data were collected from experts and stakeholders associated with agro-industry and agro-industry businesses. Collecting data using a structured questionnaire and interview. Secondary data sourced from related institutions / organizations at the national, provincial, district and sub-district. To identify and analyze the potential for agro-industry SME cluster development is done with consideration of the number of business units and discussions with the experts to get the cluster potential agro-industry group. Furthermore, to analyze the potential, opportunities, barriers and challenges of development of agro-industry cluster analyzed descriptively based on surveys and direct observation in the agro-industry businesses that have the potential clusters in Jambi Province. . The analysis was done by descriptive against internal and external conditions of SMEs. The results found that there are five groups of agroindustrial SMEs that have the potential to be developed in clusters, namely: industrial tempe / tofu soy: copra industry; industrial crackers, chips, dent and the like; industrial woven from rattan and bamboo instead of wood furniture as well as industry. Furthermore, in terms of business development, SMEs in Jambi Province showed relatively good progress, especially when seen from the development of production volume, revenue / turnover, product selling prices, raw material prices and profits. However, there are major obstacles in the development of the agro-industry is the future of SMEs, especially those related to the availability of raw materials, labor, market share and production equipment.
