Abstract

The high consumption of noodles has made noodles popular as instant or fast food. Its high demand has led to the production of various noodle variants, including low-carb and high-vitamin noodles. One of innovations is catfish-based and moringa leaves-based noodle which has been successfully carried out through the Pro Ide scheme by Diploma IV Keuangan Daerah students in the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jambi (FEB UNJA). This innovation has gained Intellectual Property Rights (HKI). FEB UNJA lecturers and students are involved in community service in Mekar Sari Village, Maro Sebo Ulu District, Batang Hari Regency, Jambi Province. The team developed the potential of the Batang Hari river and ponds, especially catfish and carp farming. This opens up opportunities for product diversification and downstreaming of fish into noodles. The development of a business model has great potential through innovations that enable knowledge and technology transfer. In addition, this business model focuses on capacity building, technology transfer, market access, and empowerment of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), one of which is by making noodles with catfish and moringa leaves as the main ingredients.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate programs and strategies for strengthening and developing human resources (HR) at Universitas Jambi, focusing on educational staff. The data utilized include both secondary and primary sources. Secondary data, including archives, documents, reports, and relevant statements, were collected through documentation. Primary data were obtained through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to capture direct perspectives from stakeholders. Data were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative analysis utilized content analysis techniques to evaluate data from the FGDs. This analysis aimed to identify key themes, patterns, and insights from the collected data. Quantitative analysis employed descriptive statistics to provide an overview of the current human resource conditions and projections for the next five years. Based on a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis and the university's HR development vision and mission, it was found that Universitas Jambi is in a strategic position to strengthen and develop its human resources. Despite major strengths such as a diverse range of study programs and faculty qualifications, some weaknesses need to be addressed, including a faculty shortage in some areas and the need for curriculum updates. Opportunities for growth through collaboration and innovation in teaching and research are significant, yet faced with challenges such as academic competition and budget constraints. Recommendations for Universitas Jambi include: (1) focusing on the development of faculty and staff competencies through ongoing training and further education; (2) updating the curriculum to reflect labor market needs and advancements in knowledge; (3) enhancing infrastructure and resources to support innovation in learning and research; (4) implementing policies that promote inclusivity and diversity; (5) expanding partnerships with industry and other academic institutions; and (6) applying effective risk management strategies to address barriers in implementing HR development programs.

Abstract

The relationship between unemployment and poverty is not always in the same direction as we think so far. Status as an employee does not guarantee that someone will prosper, and status as unemployed does not always mean poor. Unemployment and poverty are not complementary variables and are not directly correlated. This study aims to provide an overview related to the profile or characteristics of working poor in Jambi Province. As well as to give an overview of what factors influence the poverty status of workers in Jambi Province. The type of data used in this research is secondary data in the form of raw data (micro data) for the August 2021 Sakernas sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). Meanwhile, to measure poverty in research workers will use the World Bank approach. Analysis was carried out using logistic regression analysis to obtain the determinants of workers' poverty status. The results of this study show a high level of significance and a clear trend effect on the probability of being working poor from the following variables: gender (female); marital status (not married); difference in educational level (elementary school and below); working hours (<35 hours a week); employment (services); employment status (self-employed/freelancer); do not have course/training experience; do not have a work contract; age group (61 years and over); and length of service in the job (risk decreases with length of employment).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development of electricity needs in the two main sectors served by PT PLN (Persero), namely the industrial and commercial sectors. Next, an analysis was carried out of the factors thought to influence electricity demand in the industrial and commercial sectors, namely the variables Average Electricity Tariff for the Industrial Sector, GDP for the industrial sector and Domestic Investment in the industrial sector on Electricity Demand in the Industrial Sector. Then the influence of the variable average electricity tariff for the commercial sector, GRDP in the commercial sector and domestic investment in the commercial sector on the demand for electricity in the commercial sector. The analytical method used is descriptive and quantitative analysis with panel data regression analysis tools using 34 provinces during 2017-2021. The results of the analysis show that there has been development in a positive direction towards electricity demand in the industrial and commercial sectors, however developments in 2020 show negative growth which has resulted in an excess supply of electricity. Then the results of panel data regression analysis in the industrial and commercial sectors show that there is a positive and significant influence from the GRDP and domestic investment variables, while the electricity tariff variable has no significant effect at the 95% degree.
