Abstract

Background: The President through Presidential Regulation Number 72 of 2021 is committed to accelerating the reduction of stunting in Indonesia. The stunting priority areas also continue to be increased from year to year. In Indonesia, East Nusa Tenggara Province is the province with the highest prevalence of stunting, namely 37.8% in 2021. Objective: To find out the spatial picture and the correlation between environmental factors and economic factors with the prevalence of stunting in East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2021. Methods: The research design is an ecological study with a spatial approach. This study uses secondary data in the form of reports issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Health (SSGI: Indonesian Nutritional Status Study) and the BKKBN (PK: Family Data Collection) in 2021 with district/city-level analysis units in East Nusa Tenggara Province. Data analysis used a correlation test and mapping was carried out using the QGIS 2.8.1 application. Results: The prevalence of stunting in NTT Province tends to be high in the eastern part while the risk factors for stunting (unfavorable environment and economy) tend to be high in the western part. The correlation test showed that the correlation between the prevalence of stunting and the poor was 0.165 (p = 0.463); with inadequate latrines of 0.420 (p = 0.052); and with inadequate drinking water sources of 0.426 (p = 0.048).

Abstract

Abstract

The surge in cases of patients confirmed positive for COVID-19 has prompted the Indonesian government to designate several hospitals as referral hospitals for COVID-19 patients. Depok City, which is the area with the highest positive COVID-19 cases in West Java Province in 2021, has 21 referral hospitals spread across several sub-district areas. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out this research which aimed to determine the distribution and reach of health services at the COVID-19 referral hospital in Depok City by utilizing a geographic information system application. To see the distribution and affordability of health services at COVID-19 referral hospitals, mapping was carried out using buffer, overlay and intersection analysis based on the road network and hospital coverage radius. The mapping results showed that the distribution of hospital locations was not evenly distributed and tends to be concentrated in several sub-district areas and the area of health service affordability was within a medium to long radius, using a service coverage standard of 3 kilometers from the road network to the referral hospital. It was concluded that hospital facilities were not evenly distributed in Depok City, so it was necessary to plan the development of hospital infrastructure with priority locations in sub-district areas that did not yet have hospitals. Keywords: Covid-19; referral hospital; distribution; affordability ABSTRAK Melonjaknya kasus pasien terkonfirmasi positif COVID-19 membuat pemerintah Indonesia menunjuk beberapa rumah sakit sebagai rumah sakit rujukan untuk pasien COVID-19.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant global health issue affecting children, and Indonesia is still one of the countries with a high prevalence of stunting. Over the past three years, the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia was reached 24.4% in 2021, 21.6% in 2022, and 21.5% in 2023. East Java is one of the provinces still experiencing high stunting rates, although the figures are slightly below the national average. From 2021 to 2023, a decrease occurred, though not significantly. Several factors such as age at marriage and low birth weight are associated with the risk of stunting in East Java. This study employs a spatial-temporal approach through the visualization of stunting risk mapping using geographic information systems (GIS). Secondary aggregate data were obtained from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, BPS East Java, and digital maps sources. The h three-year autocorrelation analysis showed greater changes in the Moran's I value from 2021-2023, indicating changes in special pattern. In mapping the risk of stunting, there is a change in distribution of t high and low risk areas, although some areas remained in the same category. The results from the analysis and visualization in this study are expected to serve as valuable input for stakeholders  to overcome stunting in East Java.  Keywords: stunting, East Java, spatial, GIS, autocorrelation

Abstract

Knowledge of disease can affect attitudes and prevention practices, and wrong attitudes and practices can directly increase the risk of disease infection. This study aimed to describe the knowledge, attitudes, and COVID-19 prevention practice of healthcare workers in Indonesia and factors associated with prevention practices. A mobile-based cross-sectional survey was conducted in August 2020 with 254 healthcare workers in Indonesia. The self-administered questionnaire consisted of four parts: 1) sociodemographic information, 2) knowledge of COVID-19, 3) attitudes and anxiety toward COVID-19, and 4) COVID-19 prevention practices. The results indicated that healthcare workers in Indonesia had excellent knowledge and positive attitudes about COVID-19, but their preventionpractices were lacking. The multiple logistic regression analysis results revealed that the factors associated with the COVID-19 prevention practices of healthcare workers in Indonesia were knowledge, attitudes, anxiety, domicile island, age, income, and education. Healthcare workers who had excellent knowledge, positive attitudes, and high anxiety exhibited better COVID-19 prevention practices than others. Healthcare workers in Sumatra Island, aged 41–50 years, and an undergraduate education showed better COVID-19 prevention practices than others.

Abstract

The utilization of delivery at health facilities is a major intervention in reducing 16 to 33% of deaths. This study aimed to determine the model of utilization of delivery at health facilities in Indonesia in 2017 and its influential factors. This study used secondary data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey using a Spatial Durbin Model (SDM) approach. The population was mothers aged 15 – 49 years, spread across 34 provinces of Indonesia, and had 15,321 samples. The results showed that the Moran’s I value was positive (0.146) and significant at p-value = 0.007, indicating clustered regions with similar characteristics. The SDM modeling estimation results (R2 = 91.61%) presented those dependent and independent variables that influenced the utilization of delivery at health facilities and its influential factors. The significant and most dominant direct factor that influenced the utilization of delivery at health facilities was pregnancy visits, while the most dominant indirect factor was socioeconomic status. Therefore, further policy planning is expected to be based on regional specificities, and effective intervention programs should be designed based on these factors.

Abstract

Purpose: Hypnotherapy is a method to stop smoking. But the effectiveness needs to be proven. Methods: a systematic review was conducted on articles published between 2012-2022 that examined hypnotherapy as a smoking cessation intervention. Results: four relevant studies were obtained. Two studies discussed the effectiveness of hypnotherapy over relaxation and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). One study examined the effect of individual hypnosis susceptibility on the effectiveness of hypnotherapy. Finally, the study discusses the effect of brain waves on hypnotherapy through EEG assessment. Conclusion: Hypnotherapy intervention is superior to NRT but not superior to the relaxation method. Individuals with higher susceptibility are proven to have more influence on hypnotherapy interventions. Hypnotherapy has been shown to affect brain wave activity through EEG assessment. Further research is needed regarding the effectiveness of hypnotherapy on various population characters.
