Abstract

The presence of telemedicine plays a vital role in the healthcare system of developing countries, as it can facilitate access to healthcare services, especially in remote areas. However, various factors can influence the performance of online medical advisors on telemedicine platforms. The aim of this research is to analyze the factors affecting the performance of online medical advisors on telemedicine platforms. The variables under investigation include personal innovativeness with information technology (IT), computer self-efficacy, habits, and e-leadership. These four variables will be treated as independent variables. Mediating variables consist of exploitative use of telehealth technology, virtual organizational commitment, and the dependent variable is virtual care performance, also known as virtual healthcare service performance. This research is conducted using a quantitative approach with an online questionnaire instrument. Data analysis is performed using multivariate techniques, specifically Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The research results indicate that all four independent variables under investigation have a positive influence on virtual organizational commitment.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of brand value, brand credibility, arousal, brand love, online buying on delight and the effect of delight on intention to book a restaurant. The population of this study were restaurant customers in Indonesia, with the sample of 250 respondents collected by online questionnaires using nonprobability sampling technique with convenience sampling—data analysis  run by PLS-SEM. Overall, the results of this study are descriptive statistical analysis. This study also offers other areas that deserve more research from the perspective of practitioners and researchers. The results showed that Arousal, Brand Credibility, Brand Love, Brand Value had a positive effect on Intention to Bookrestaurants through the variable of Delight. In contrast, online purchases have no effect on Delight or the hypothesis is not supported because customers feel doubtful and dissatisfied with online purchasing services and still feel afraid due to the occurrence of many frauds in online purchases.

Abstract

The COVID-19 has become a devastating occurrence and an urgent intervention for public health in Indonesia. Until the beginning of 2021, Indonesia has the highest number of healthcare workers deaths in Asia and fifth in the world. One of the reasons that resulted in a high number of deaths is due to the lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) to be worn in high-risk environments. Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) is one of the most advanced protective equipment and recommended by many countries for their healthcare workers in handling COVID-19 pandemic. This research is conducted to predict Indonesian physicians’ intention to use PAPR as advanced PPE using the Health Belief Model. This research is a correlational study and a quantitative research using statistical tests in processing the data collected from online questionnaires. The findings collected from 163 respondents demonstrated that physicians in Indonesia have the intention to use PAPR as advanced PPE against COVID-19 based on their knowledge, perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, and perceived benefits of using PAPR. Perceived barriers do not have a significant influence towards physicians’ intention to use. The impact of knowledge to intention to use mediated by perceived benefits has the strongest correlation. This empirical model has moderate predictive accuracy with medium predictive relevance, therefore it could be developed and tested on an extended population. There are few managerial implications that could be recommended for hospital managers, public health administrators, and medical device suppliers to encourage physicians’ behavior. Several recommendations are given for further research development. Abstract

Preventing healthcare errors and reducing damage are becoming the basic concepts of patient safety development. Healthcare personnel need to be more careful and minimize complications that can occur during patient care. Psychological empowerment is important to support a safety culture and patient outcomes. This study investigates the relationship between psychological empowerment (PE) and patient outcome (PO) mediated by patient safety culture (PSC). A cross-sectional survey study was conducted in private hospitals accredited by Joint Commission International. A total of 150 healthcare personnel as participants who met the requirements were obtained by distributing the questionnaires in March 2023. Significant results in mediating patient safety culture have been analyzed using partial least square-structural equation modeling (SEM). The dimensionality of PE and PSC was assessed by a new method that is a disjoint two-stage approach. The role of PSC was found to fully mediate the positive relationship between psychological empowerment and patient outcome (=0.436, p-value 0.05). This study contributes to growing the value of developing a safety culture and the function of psychological empowerment in healthcare staff to enhance patient outcomes.

Abstract

The healthcare organization is highly competitive, in which excellent service becomes crucial. As part of the healthcare front-liners, nurses become the main provider of such services, especially in private hospitals. Therefore, it is essential to enhance nurse performance to ensure hospital success. This study investigated the relationship between work-life balance (WLB) on nurse performance (NP) mediated by work engagement (WE) and psychological well-being (PWB). This cross-sectional study recruited 132 eligible nurses in a internationally-accredited type B private hospital (>200 beds). The proposed model of this study is analyzed using partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The association between all studied variables is significant. The relation between WLB on NP mediated by WE and PWB is significant (p-value 0.000, zero fall, CI 95%)-WLB on PWB (ß=0.743), WLB on WE (ß=0.466), PWB on WE (ß=0.379), WE on NP (ß=0.351) and PWB on NP (ß=0.579). This study indicates that nurse WLB should be an essential aspect to consider in enhancing NP. The hospital should also monitor and evaluate WE and PWB in improving NP.

Abstract

The hospital organization determines quality of care (QOC) from health services; however, there are many challenges due to the different backgrounds of healthcare workers. Essentially, governance is needed to guarantee a process oriented toward clinical outcomes. Unfortunately, research on clinical management with dimensional measurements conducted in private hospitals is still scanty. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between clinical governance climate (CGC) on QOC mediated by a patient safety culture (PSC) and the control variable adaptation to workload in relation to QOC. Participants were healthcare workers in two private hospitals that have been fully accredited; 416 participants met the requirements. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires in March 2023. Data were analyzed through partial least square – structural equation model (PLS-SEM). The study result indicated a significant positive relationship between CGC and PSC (β=0.851, p-value<0.05). Further, a positive relationship between PSC to QOC (β=0.654, p-value<0.05) was established. However, insufficient evidence indicates a direct relation between CGC on QOC (p-value>0.05). The role of PSC as a full mediating was confirmed (β=0.557, p-value<0.05, CI 95% 0.441-0.677). The finding of this study is the importance of CGC relation to QOC mediated by PSC in private hospitals.

Abstract

Resistance to adopting patient safety culture practices or technologies can hinder improvements in patient safety. This study contributes to enhancing the understanding of patient safety culture (PSC) assessment by identifying the specific factors that render some PSC dimensions invalid and offering actionable recommendations for improvement in healthcare settings. Primary data were gathered using a mixed method of explanatory sequential design, with quantitative data collection and analysis followed by qualitative data collection and analysis. The study was conducted in the leading Private Hospital XYZ, one of the private hospital groups internationally accredited with Joint Commission International with a 110-patient bed capacity. Among the 12 dimensions, only feedback communication about error, handoffs and transitions, and teamwork across units were determined to be valid and reliable. Therefore, eight dimensions, including communication openness, continuous improvement, frequency of error reported, management support, overall patient safety, supervisor/manager expectation, and staffing were explored further through a focus group discussion (FGD). Delving into quantitative and qualitative insights has identified critical nuances that extend beyond mere quantitative metrics. The qualitative insights gleaned from healthcare professionals through the FGD illuminated the nuanced human aspects of safety culture that traditional measurements may overlook. Keywords: anonymous reporting, management of communication, mixed method, patient safety culture   Abstrak Mengapa Penilaiannya Gagal?
