Abstract

Lead is widely found in the environment and it is a heavy metal element that has a neurotoxic effect. Unlike other elements, lead does not provide its benefits in the human body. Neurotoxicity describes the neurophysiological changes caused by exposure to toxic agents, which can be manifested by changes in various functions of the nervous system. The aim of this research was to examine the associations between high school students' lead hair levels, intelligence quotient (IQ) scores, propensities for antisocial behavior, and hand grip strength. This research used canonical correlation analysis. Lead levels were detection by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Antisocial behavior tendency data was measured using a 21-item antisocial tendency scale using the aspects listed in diagnostic statistical mental disorder (DSM) V which had previously been tested for validity and the reliability. The IQ level was measured using the Wechsler adult intelligence scale (WAIS) test, while the hand muscle strength test was measured using a hand grip dynamometer. Based on the results of the canonical correlation analysis, the research results showed that there was no correlation between lead levels in hair and antisocial behavior tendencies, but there was a relationship between lead levels in hair and IQ levels and hand muscle strength.

Abstract

Institut Agama Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Bangil is a private university in East Java, Indonesia, affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama. Despite its commitment to quality education based on Islamic values, the university's lecturers face challenges in publishing scientific articles. Previous research underscores the importance of training, workshops, and technology tools in improving lecturers' scientific publication skills. This article proposes a Participatory Action Research approach for scientific article writing training, involving issue identification, active lecturer involvement, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This approach fosters collaboration and enhances lecturers' scientific writing abilities. Similar successful approaches in other institutions highlight the potential positive outcomes of such training. The goal is to empower lecturers, boost publication rates, and contribute to individual and institutional advancement.

Abstract

Village website development is the process of designing, creating and maintaining a website specifically to represent and serve the needs of a village. Websites generally aim to provide an information and communication platform that can be accessed by members of the village community as well as other people interested in the village. . On the Jemirahan Village website, there are several menus, including village structure notifications, news information linked to Facebook, and a suggestion and complaint box menu. In the complaints menu, Jemirahan village residents can provide suggestions or criticism regarding the services provided by Jemirahan village officials. Creating a website for village communities brings various significant benefits, both in social, economic and educational aspects. The website is not only a communication tool, but also a strategic platform for development and empowerment of village communities in various fields.

Abstract

This study evaluates the factors that influence the success and failure of Community Vocational Training Centers (BLKK) in transforming into entrepreneurial incubators in East Java, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara. The study used survey and field observation methods involving 23 new incubators. Data were collected through a questionnaire assessing 10 key indicators, including facilities, quality of trainers, access to funding, and external cooperation, as well as direct visitation to review specific factors affecting incubator success. The results showed that most incubators have successfully provided significant support to tenants, with an average success index of 4.36. Key supporting factors include adequate facilities and infrastructure, the quality of experienced mentors, and the potential of the region surrounding the incubator. However, some incubators still face obstacles such as limited funding and business legality issues. Recommendations are given to improve these aspects to make incubator mentoring programs more effective in the future.

Abstract

Discriminant Analysis is a statistical analysis that can classify cases on independent variables into groups or categories of dependent variables. The main objective of this research is classify eight indicators of the National education standards (SNP) early childhood and classify the accreditation value of early childhood (PAUD) in Southeast Sulawesi Province. The method used in this study used discriminant analysis. Accreditation value factors used in this study include Standards for Child Development Achievement Levels (X1), Content Standards (X2), Process Standards (X3), Standards for Educators and Education Personnel (X4), Facilities and Infrastructure Standards (X5), Management Standards (X6), Financing Standards (X7) and Education Assessment Standards (X8). Based on the results of data analysis, 8 SNP Indicators qualify as a form of discriminant equation model and accreditation value obtained based on the calculations of the National accreditation organization (BAN) PAUD and Non Fromal Education (PNF) Southeast Sulawesi are classified as follows: there are divided into 3 classifications, namely Accreditation C is 91.7%, Accreditation B is 85.1%, and for Accreditation A is 100%. So, the accuracy of the classification is 87.5%.

Abstract

In today's digital era, online education has become an integral component of the global educational system. However, the quality of providers, mastery of online learning media, and the capability of teachers in delivering content significantly influence students' comprehension. Understanding how these factors impact students is crucial for optimizing online educational experiences. This article examines the effect of provider quality, mastery of online learning media, and teacher's capability in teaching on students' understanding in an online learning environment using Classification and Regression Trees (CART). The study focused on the active students of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, totaling 18,104 based on data from PDDIKTI. Due to the vastness of this population, stratified random sampling was employed. The sample size was determined using the Kock and Hadaya method, resulting in a minimum sample of 271. Each sample in the stratum was taken based on the proportion of the population across 19 departments, with the Department of Psychology having the largest sample size of 20 students and the Department of Library and Information Science the smallest with 4 students. The findings revealed that a teacher's capability has a more profound influence on students' understanding than mastery of online learning media, while provider quality showed no significant impact. To enhance the effectiveness of online learning, it's recommended that educational institutions invest in teacher training focused on effective teaching methodologies and technological utilization, and also ensure the selection of online learning platforms that cater to student needs.

Abstract

Video surveillance technology, such as CCTV, is increasingly common in various applications, including public safety and business surveillance. Analyzing and comparing images from CCTV systems is essential for ensuring safety and security. This research implements the Pearson Correlation method in Python to measure the similarity of CCTV images. Pearson Correlation, which assesses the linear relationship between two variables, is employed to compare the pixel values of two images, resulting in a coefficient that indicates the degree of similarity. We used a quantitative approach with experiments on two scenarios to test the program's effectiveness in measuring image similarity. The results demonstrate that Pearson Correlation is highly effective in distinguishing between identical and other images, providing a more accurate and comprehensive assessment of image similarity compared to histogram analysis. However, the findings are constrained by the specific scenarios and dataset utilized. Further research with more diverse empirical data is required to generalize these results across a broader range of CCTV conditions.

Abstract

At Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in 2024 SEM-PLS training will develop data analysis capabilities for lecturers and students to enhance their work on quality scientific publications. The Department of Mathematics at Faculty of Science and Technology conducted the session on May 21, 2024, where 40 people participated. Training and mentoring stands as the service method which features instruction about SEM-PLS theory alongside practical utilization of SmartPLS software for implementation. Observation activities together with documentation assessment and satisfaction questionnaire responses determine the program's outcome. Participant satisfaction reached an exceptional level because they showed positive feedback about the material presented. Time constraints together with a constrained space area negatively affected  this event. This training achieved success in providing extensive SEM-PLS understanding to students and lecturers. The activity builds campus research capacity. The organization of similar consecutive training courses is highly suggested because it will boost academic knowledge in data analysis fields.
