Abstract

ABSTRACTThere are many studies on agronomic and economic advantages of iles-iles (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume), leading to high demand on seed to support the rapid production expansion in many Asian countries. By contrast, there are few studies on flowering phenology and flower morphology although they affect the seed production. Therefore, we evaluated flowering phenology and flower morphology of 80 plants of A. muelleri grown in a field under 65% artificial shading net at Leuwikopo Experimental Farm IPB Darmaga, Bogor, Indonesia from May 2015 to July 2016 in order to improve seed production. A. muelleri produced solitary spadix, with female flowers at the lower part and male flowers at the upper part. Spadix grew slowly for 56-71 days after bud break, and then grew rapidly thereafter for 30-35 days until anthesis. Seed was harvested 9.6 to 10.2 months after anthesis. We devided the development of spadix into seven phases, bud break as stage I and berry maturity as stage VII. Stage VI to VII determined seed production. Seed production was also affected by roots formation and spadix size. There were strong positive correlations between lengths of the female zones with berry production. Some morphological characteristics of spadix were dependent on corm size, thus, it was likely that agronomic improvement to enhance female flower and corm sizes wasimportant in seed production.Keywords: developmental stage, female flower, iles-iles, male flower, seed production ABSTRAKTelah banyak kajian keunggulan agronomi dan ekonomi iles-iles (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume), sehingga mendorong peningkatan permintaan benih untuk mendukung perluasan areal produksi di banyak negara Asia. Namun demikian, kajian fenologi dan morfologi bunga khususnya terkait produksi benih masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, kami mengkaji perkembangan dan morfologi 80 bunga iles-iles yang ditanam di bawah paranet 65% di Kebun Percobaan Leuwikopo IPB, Bogor, Indonesia dari Mei 2015 sampai Juli 2016 dalam rangka perbaikan produksi benih. Iles-iles menghasilkan sebuah tongkol bunga dengan bunga betina pada bagian bawah dan bunga jantan pada bagian atas. Tongkol bunga tumbuh lambat 58-71 hari setelah pecah tunas, diikuti tumbuh cepat 30-35 hari hingga antesis, dan biji dipanen 9.6 sampai 10.2 bulan setelahnya. Perkembangan bunga dari pecah tunas hingga buah matang dapat dibagi menjadi tujuh tahap. Tahap VI ke tahap VII menentukan keberhasilan produksi biji iles-iles. Selain itu, keberhasilan produksi biji juga dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan akar dan ukuran tongkol khususnya panjang bagian bunga betina. Beberapa karakter morfologi bunga iles-iles dipengaruhi oleh ukuran umbi saat tanam. Oleh karena itu, perlu perbaikan agronomis untuk meningkatkan ukuran umbi dan ukuran bunga betina guna mendukung produksi benih.Kata kunci: bunga betina, bunga jantan, iles-iles, produksi benih, tahap pertumbuhan

Abstract

Harvest time can affect the shelf life and quality of fruit during storage, therefore, the right method is needed in accordance with harvest time. This study aimed to optimize heat units as a harvest criteria of Barangan banana and its effect on fruit quality. The study was conducted at Sukabumi, West Java PTPN VIII in October 2018 to February 2019 using a Randomized Complete Block Design with single factor and five anthesis time: anthesis 1 (October 13rd 2018), anthesis 2 (October 20th 2018), anthesis 3 (October 27th 2018), anthesis 4 (November 03rd 2018), anthesis 5 (November 10th 2018). The results showed Barangan banana was harvested at a minimum heat unit of 1 234.50±2.76 0C degree days with a harvest time of 72-73 days and a shelf life of 16-17 days and can be used as a harvesting criteria. Different time of anthesis did not affect to harvested fruit size, shelf life, weight loss, physical quality and chemical quality of fruit. Abstract

ABSTRACT Arrangement of Guava Flowering (Psidium guajava L.) ‘Krystal’ through the Application of Different Strangulation Times. The seasonal production of guava (Psidium guajava) requires flowering manipulation technique such strangulation in order to be available throughout the years. This study aimed to explain the relationship between strangulation time, the period of flowering and harvesting of guava cv 'Krystal'. The experiment was conducted from February to December 2017, in Cikabayan experimental garden of IPB University, Bogor, Indonesia. The experiment used a completely randomized design with single factor, i.e strangulation times that consisted of control (no strangulation), strangulation in March, in April and in May. The results showed that strangulation treatment was able to accelerate the emergence of flowers and increase the number of generative shoots, the number of flowers per tree and the number of fruits harvested. The increase of flowering response on strangulated trees was supported by a higher leaf C/N compared to control, which is related to the low leaf N content in strangulation treatments. The strangulation treatment could accelerate the time of flower emergence six days earlier than control.  Keywords: guava, C/N, flowering induction, ringing, seasonal production ABSTRAK Produksi buah jambu biji (Psidium guajava) yang bersifat musiman memerlukan teknik pengaturan pembungaan agar dapat tersedia sepanjang tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan keterkaitan antara waktu strangulasi dengan pola pembungaan dan panen buah jambu biji ‘Kristal’. Percobaan dilaksanakan mulai Februari sampai Desember 2017, di Kebun Percobaan Cikabayan IPB Bogor. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor tunggal yaitu waktu strangulasi yang terdiri dari 4 (empat) taraf, yakni tanpa strangulasi, strangulasi bulan Maret, strangulasi bulan April dan strangulasi bulan Mei. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan strangulasi mampu mempercepat munculnya bunga dan meningkatkan jumlah tunas generatif, jumlah bunga per pohon, jumlah bakal buah per pohon dan jumlah buah yang dipanen. Peningkatan respon pembungaan akibat strangulasi didukung oleh C/N daun yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan tanpa stangulasi, yang berhubungan dengan rendahnya kandungan nitrogen daun pada perlakuan strangulasi. Perlakuan strangulasi mampu mempercepat waktu muncul bunga 6 hari lebih cepat dibandingkan tanpa strangulasi.Kata kunci: jambu biji, C/N, induksi pembungaan, pencekikan batang, produksi musiman

Abstract

Salah satu faktor penentu keberhasilan pengembangan dan pengusahaan tanaman panili antara lain bibit yang baik. Tingkat pertumbuhan dan keberhasilan perbanyakan tanaman panili di pembibitan menjadi faktor pendukung dalam menghasilkan dan penyediaan bibit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan dan mengkaji komposisi media tanam dan frekuensi aplikasi pupuk daun terhadap pertumbuhan setek panili. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kebun Sindang Barang, Bogor, sejak September sampai Desember 2013. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan berdasarkan Rancangan Petak Terpisah dengan tiga ulangan. Petak utama adalah frekuensi aplikasi  pupuk  daun yaitu tiga hari sekali dan enam hari sekali. Anak petak adalah kombinasi media tanam yaitu tanah + pupuk kandang + arang sekam berdasarkan volume (2:1:1, 2:2:1, dan 2:1:2) dan tanah sebagai kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi media tanam berupa tanah + pupuk kandang + arang sekam (2:2:1) merupakan komposisi media tanam terbaik yang menghasilkan pertumbuhan bibit panili tertinggi pada persentase setek hidup, panjang tunas, jumlah ruas, jumlah daun, dan klorofil total pada 10 minggu setelah tanam. Aplikasi pupuk daun tiga hari sekali dengan konsentrasi satu g l-1 dan dosis 10 ml tanaman-1 merupakan frekuensi aplikasi pupuk daun yang secara umum menghasilkan pertumbuhan bibit panili tertinggi pada 10 minggu setelah tanam.

Abstract

Sintrong is an Indonesian indigenous vegetable with leaves used for vegetables, digestive disorders, and burns. Changes in the environment due to an increase in temperature affect the growth and quality of sitrong, and its existence in the nature is threatened. This study aims to obtain information about the effect of exposure to high temperatures on the physiological character and flavonoid content of indigenous sintrong vegetables and obtain accession of sintrong, which can be developed as a functional vegetable. The Nested randomized group design was applied with two factors, temperature differences as the main plot and accession as a second plot. Four replications were conducted for each accession in the Cikabayan experimental garden of IPB. The results showed that exposure to high temperatures up to 32 °C increased the speed of flowering age, which was 4.76% and 7.14% faster and showed a high wilting rate of 36.66%, but decreased leaf area index up to 30.30% and 42.42% at the conditions above ambient temperature exposure (control). Flavonoid content did not show any effect due to exposure to high temperatures. The flavonoid content reached 1695.38 and 1834.83 mg QE 100 g-1. Bogor 1 accession showed the best performance so that the plants can be developed for functional vegetables. Based on the research findings, sintrong should be harvested earlier before flowering to obtain high leaf production and good-quality vegetables.

Abstract

Objective. The purpose of this research is to apply the basic techniques of Indonesian soccer philosophy, namely attacking transition-defending, at SSB Pamong Praja Garut. Materials and Methods. The research employed an experiment with a one-group pre-test and post-test design, and was conducted at SSB Pamong Praja Tarogong Kidul Garut. The population consisted of 16 players, and the following instruments were used: First Touch test, passing test, dribbling test, heading test, shooting test, and soccer playing skills test (GPAI). SPSS version 26 was used for data processing. Results. The average values of the pre-test and post-test results are as follows: First Touch (pre-test 52.50 and post-test 69.38), Passing test (pre-test 218.13 and post-test 266.88), Dribbling test (pre-test 44.56 and post-test 52.69), Heading test (pre-test 49.50 and post-test 59.94), Shooting test (pre-test 81.88 and post-test 122.50), and soccer playing skills (0.3379-0.3857). Conclusion. Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that the application of the basic techniques of Indonesian soccer philosophy, namely attacking transition-defending, has a positive and significant influence on the improvement of the average values of the pre-test and post-test.

Abstract

The examination of sustainability within the textile industry necessitates an exploration of various environmental pollution issues. This study aims to tackle challenges in the synthetic dye industry by reviewing past research on textile dyeing, providing scientific insights, identifying patterns, and highlighting research gaps. It is hypothesized that the cultivation of Indigofera tinctoria with optimized NPK fertilization can significantly enhance its growth and yield, contributing to sustainable natural dye production. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study integrated bibliometric analysis of 1320 Scopus articles with field experiments. The bibliometric analysis, conducted with Vos Viewer software, identifies India and the United States as leaders in textile dye research. Key terms include indigo, indigo carmine, I. tinctoria, and natural dyes. A significant research gap is identified in the cultivation of I. tinctoria, particularly concerning the application of NPK (16:16:16) fertilization. Field experiments analyzed using R-studio demonstrate that NPK significantly increases the fresh weight of I. tinctoria at 11 weeks after planting. Pearson correlation analysis showed a significant correlation between the fresh weight of I. tinctoria on the dry weight of the plants (0.91***) and specific leaf weight (0.60*). These results indicate that advancing research on natural dye indigotin and the cultivation of I. tinctoria plants in the field is highly relevant to addressing research questions concerning the development of natural dye research and the cultivation methods of indigo dye plants in field conditions. NPK fertilization enhances the growth and yield of I. tinctoria, supporting sustainable cultivation in Indonesia. This research contributes to present a viable strategy for promoting sustainable natural dye production and addressing the identified research gap in the cultivation of this important dye-producing species. Future research should focus on optimizing NPK fertilization strategies to maximize yield and sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the literature on the dimensions of philosophy and sports based on scopus indexed articles. The research method used to conduct the analysis is bibliometric. Search and filtering strategy using PRISMA flow chart. The research review uses data in comma-separated values (CSV) format, which is then exported to Microsoft Excel and to visualize the search results of bibliometric analysis the tool used is VOSviewer. The conclusion of the study resulted in the development of publications with the domain of philosophy and sports dimensions experiencing fluctuating conditions, but in the last 10 years the number of publications has tended to be stable.

Abstract

Penyakit Ice-ice pada budidaya rumput laut menjadi masalah serius bagi para petani di Tarakan khususnya di Kelurahan Pantai Amal. Penyakit Ice-ice merupakan suatu ganguan fungsi, yang mengakibatkan terjadinya perubahan anatomi atau struktur dari normal menjadi abnormal, seperti perubahan laju pertumbuhan, perubahan penampakan warna dan bentuk yang akhirnya berpengaruh terhadap tingkat produktivitas. Rumput laut yang terinfeksi penyakit ice-ice dapat dilihat dari gejala awal yang berupa terjadinya perubahan warna menjadi pucat dan pada beberapa batang thallus menjadi putih dan membusuk. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut di atas maka dalam penelitian akan diusulkan pembuatan prototype alat yang dapat mendeteksi penyakit ice-ice pada rumput laut menggunakan sensor warna. Pembuatan prototipe ini mempunyai masukkan berupa rumput laut baik dalam kondisi sehat maupun yang terinfeksi penyakit ice-ice. Dalam perancangan prototype ini menggunakan sensor warna sebagai deteksi warna pada citra rumput laut dan Arduino uno sebagai sistem pemroses dan LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) sebagai keluaran yang akan menampilkan kondisi rumput laut. Penelitian ini menghasilkan keluaran alat yang dapat mendeteksi penyakit ice-ice dan rumput laut sehat pada citra rumput laut. Data citra rumput laut yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 42 data. Dari 42 data yang terdeteksi dengan benar menggunakan sensor warna adalah 38 data. Sedangkan 4 data terdeteksi salah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kualitas citra yang kurang baik sehingga mempengaruhi nilai intensitas warna pada citra rumput laut.
