Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a lot of culture and wisdoms. These identities are proudly upheld and maintained by every citizens of the nation. Education plays an important role in preserving these values, including to insert it into classroom activities. Ethnoscience-based learning process is hoped to change teacher-centered learning stigma to a contextual and meaningful learning. This research aims to develop learning video for integrated natural science class with ethnoscience basis and implementation of green chemistry principle for students. The used method in this research was research and development with a 4D modification. The result were obtained from the judgment of experts of media, materials, and ethnoscience. The judgment proved that the media was very properly able to be used. The responses of the teachers and students to the video was very good. The effectiveness of the video was shown with n-gain value of 0.52 or the criterion of medium. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the use of video were very proper to develop students’ understanding of green chemistry based on the National Education Standardization Agency.

Abstract

Students' success is determined by the conceptual that has been owned by the students while studying certain theme. New concepts will be elusive if the relevant concepts have not been owned by the students. Based on the observation and interview in SMP Negeri 1 Doro indicated that the heat concept is one of the elusive concept in science learning by the students. This study aims to: (1) describe the misconception experienced by students on the heat theme using a diagnostic test that is three-tier multiple choice, (2) determine the implementation of learning cycle 7E model-based multiple representation on the heat theme, (3) determine the effectiveness of the application of the learning cycle 7E model-based multiple representation in reducing misconceptions students on the heat theme. This study used a mixed method research with concurrent triangulation strategy. The identification results of students misconceptions on the heat theme obtained by average percentage of students' conceptions in the category Know the Concept (TK) is 43.44%. The average percentage of students' conceptions in the category Don’t Know the Concepts (TTK) is 15.31%. The average percentage of all misconceptions (MK) experienced by students in heat theme is 41.26%. Sub heat themes that most experienced misconceptions are ice melt events, boiling water events, heat calculations in the chart, the specific heat of water and oil, the absorption and release of heat, and the relationship of the specific heat with temperature changes. The implementation of learning cycle 7E model-based multiple representation obtained by the average percentage of 84.67% with the criteria very well. Learning cycle 7E model-based multiple representation became effective in reducing students misconceptions on the heat theme due to the decrease percentage of students misconceptions in the experimental class 18.72% is higher than the control class which only 9.68%. The analysis calculation result of the Equal Variance Assumed against independent sample of t test  towards the decrease of misconceptions level indicate significance (2-tailed) of 0.003 < 0.05, which means that there are differences in average reduction of misconceptions in the experimental class and control class.            Students' success is determined by the conceptual that has been owned by the students while studying certain material. Abstract

Material law of conservation of energy and momentum is abstract material. Practical tools are needed in learning to prove the law so that it can foster real learning for students. This research method is an experimental method that aims to find out how to test the energy conservation and momentum law practicum kit. The practicum kit consists of wheeled objects as loads, precision rails as slippery trajectories, and infrared sensor devices to detect the speed of motion of objects. The kits that have been compiled are then validated by experts before use. Kit validation results are valid. In the implementation of the kit testing the independent variables selected are object mass and slope height. The test results obtained that the kit equipped with infrared sensors is quite accurate in explaining the law of conservation of energy which is evidenced by the relative error that occurs is quite small, namely 1%. In testing the law of conservation of momentum obtained the result that the momentum value of the two objects before the collision approaches the momentum value after the collision. The kit testing results become a solution and innovation as a practical tool to help with more tangible learning.

Abstract

Science learning aims to help students to be able to master the knowledge of scientific order. Science learning will be more meaningful for students, if students have good literacy skills. Someone has scientific literacy skills that can both understand and communicate science, and applying science knowledge in solving problems, and can make decisions based on scientific considerations. The results of international research show that the literacy rate of Indonesian students is in the low category. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of SETS learning to improve students' scientific literacy skills. The design of this study used quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group design. In general, the results of the study show that the effectiveness of SETS learning can be seen based on student learning outcomes in the experimental class showing better than control class students and increasing scientific literacy skills in each of the relatively high categories. Science literacy skills in the interaction of science, technology, and society experienced the highest increase in ability compared to other scientific literacy categories.

Abstract

This study aims to know the effectiveness of worksheet-assisted Preser-X model to science process skillss and concept understanding in third grade of primary student on energy material. The research was conducted in Elementary School of Bategede 01 Nalumsari Jepara academic year 2016/2017. The method was Quasi Eksperimental Design. The sample was taken by using saturated sampling. The data were collected such as science process skills with observation and worksheet instrument, and concept understanding with test instrument. The data were analyzed by using one sample t-test for achievement tested for science process skills, proportion test for achievement of classical mastery, independent t test for difference test, simple linear regression for influence test, and N-gain for improvement test. The result showed average score of science process skills was 77% categorized skilled. Classical mastery of concept understanding was obtained 93,10%. There was difference between concept understanding between experimental class and control class and there was influence of science process skills and concept understanding. The improvement in concept understanding in medium category with the percentage 58,62% . The study concluded that the application of worksheet-assisted preser-X models more effective against science process skills and concept understanding of primary students.

Abstract

This study has a purpose of finding out the effect of implementation of project-based learning, based on effective local food potencies in developing entrepreneurship attitudes of primary school students. The study is a concurrent embedded mix method research which combines quantitative and qualitative in imbalance natures with primary and secondary data. The primary approach in this study is quantitative study, the learning achievement by using the model of project-based learning on local food potencies. The secondary is qualitatively seen from entrepreneurship attitudes of the students. To get the quantitative data, this study went through pre-test and post-test meanwhile the qualitative data was gained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data gained was analyzed using SPSS 16.0 for Windows and triangulation. Project-based learning model based on local food potencies is effective in developing entrepreneurship attitudes of the students. It is seen from the improving attitudes in each session, first meeting with 69.71, second and third meeting were 76.3 and 84.32. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the learning model is effective in developing the entrepreneurship attitudes of the students.

This study aims to analyze the effect of integrative thematic modules based on the guided discovery in increasing independence and learning achievement. This study applied research and development (R & D) method which refers to the ten steps developed by Borg, and Gall. The test subjects were the fourth-grade students at SD N 1 Teluk and SD N 4 Teluk. The data collection was done using interviews, observation, questionnaires, and tests. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive analysis, ANOVA, and t-test. The results of the study showed that: guided discovery integrated thematic learning module that is produced effectively to improve independence and student independence and learning achievement. The students’ independence and learning achievement increases significantly based on paired t-test at a 0.05 level of significance (sig. (2 tailed) = 0.000 < a = 0.05).
