Abstract

Muslims regard him as a great civilization. But in Indonrsia, Muslims were not able to demonstrate the existence of the Islamic civilization, because in general, Muslim nations are under the feet of colonization, poor, in ignorance and backwardness. In the perspective of the Quran, the quality of a person is determined by his faith in Allah. Is being determined by the quality of the faith of its science,; while quality is determined by the extent to which science has been practiced. Practice-practice knowledge that is based on the true faith of both physical-material and moral-spiritual that is, in essence, "Islamic civilization" and it was also the real wealth for every believer.

Abstract

This writing discusses about women semiotics in the stories told in al-Qur’an. The signs of women in al-Qur’an is interisting to study,  using semiotic approach mainly in understanding the real meaning on women empowerment procces and its implementation in gender perspective. In al-Qur’an there are numbers of symbols pointing out the meaning of womens such is zauj, imraah, umm. Within the pramework of women empowerment, it is neccessary to actualize the quranic exegessis through the stories disclosed in al-Quran that women stand equal with man in any ways except in natural aspect. Al-Qur’an has given large space to women to have double function both domestic and formal.

Abstract

Â’isyah ‘Abd. Al-Rahmân Bint al-Syâthi' (l.1913 M) was an Egyptian modern Moslem thinker. She was a professor in langustics and Arabic literature as well as quranic studies. One of her works is al-Tafsîr al-Bayâniy li al-Qur'ân al-Karîm”. This work was done as a response to the real condition of tafsir which merely focused on traditional interpretation. Bint al-Syati tried to interprete al-Quran with contextual and holisitic approach. This can be seen from the explanation of mufradat, tartîb, linguistics, as well as zawûq al-lugah. She then explained munasabat (relation) and the content of al-Quran. Shortly, method applied by Bint Syati is a modern interpretation.

Abstract

This research entitled The Qur'anic Perspective on Disaster Semiotics. It uses interpretive approach with the method of tafsīr maudū'ī" and comprehensive semantic analysis. The object of this research is The Qur'an verses concerning with disasters. The results indicate that the disaster semiotics in the Qur'an, include the following terms: al-balā', al-musībah, al-fitnah, and al-‘azāb. From these words, several facts are obtained: (1) disaster as a test is a necessity of life for mukallaf humans, which is carried out by God himself without the involvement tried in determining the way, time, and form of the disaster; (2) a disaster, which is a necessity of life including spaciousness and life suffering, whose levels are in accordance with the level of one's faith, the higher experience disasters more severe than others; (3) the disaster in the form of God's gift or favor cannot be used as evidence of divine affection as suffering does not always mean His wrath; (4) disasters come, in addition to natural factors, also because of human sins. If that also happens, humans must respond to the disaster as education and divine enlightenment, as a blessing to believers, and a warning to sinners and punishment for those who are unjust and overreach.

Abstract

Gender is a social construction of what is called masculine and feminine and the division of social roles. Hermeneutics is an alternative approach to understand the Qur'anic text. This study aims to analyze Amina Wadud's hermeneutics of interpreting the texts of the Qur'an on gender issues. The data presented comes from the references from a variety of relevant sources—the method of critical analysis conducted to explore Amina Wadud. Personal, family, intellectual, and cultural background cannot be separated from her thoughts on gender issues. He said that there were no truly objective interpreters. Indirectly, she was included in the statement. Therefore, she proposed a holistic method to reduce excessive interpreter subjectivity in understanding texts, especially gender issues. The Hermeneutics stands on the analysis of language, history, and contextualization. Amina's hermeneutics is influenced by the thoughts of Fazlur Rahman and Gadamer. الجندر هو بناء اجتماعي لما يسمى الذكوري والأنثوي وتقسيم الأدوار الاجتماعية. التأويل هو منهج بديل لفهم النصوص القرآنية. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل تأويلات أمينة ودود لتفسير نصوص القرآن في قضايا النوع الاجتماعي. وتأتي البيانات المقدمة من المراجع المتنوعة ومن مجموعة متنوعة من المصادر ذات الصلة - طريقة التحليل النقدي التي أجريت لاستكشاف أمينة ودود. لا يمكن فصل الخلفية الشخصية والعائلية والفكرية والثقافية عن أفكارها حول قضايا النوع الاجتماعي. وقالت إنه لم يكن هناك مفسرون موضوعيون حقا. وبغير مباشرة ، كانت هي في تلك الحالة. لذلك، اقترحت طريقة شاملة للحد من الذاتية المفرطة للمفسرين في فهم النصوص، وخاصة قضايا الجنسين. يقف علم التأويل على تحليل اللغة والتاريخ والسياق. تتأثر تأويلات أمينة بأفكار فضل الرحمن وجادامر.Gender merupakan konstruksi sosial dari apa yang disebut maskulin dan feminin serta pembagian peran sosial. Kajian tentang isu gender seringkali merujuk kepada posisi perempuan yang tersubordinasi atau sebaliknya, menempatkan perempuan melampau kodratnya. Bagaimana cara memposisikannya di tempat yang tepat? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hermeneutika Amina Wadud dalam menafsirkan teks Alquran tentang isu gender. Data yang disajikan berasal dari berbagai sumber yang relevan — metode analisis kritis yang dilakukan untuk mendalami ide Amina Wadud. Ia menegaskan bahwa latar belakang pribadi, keluarga, intelektual, dan budaya tidak lepas dari pemikirannya tentang isu gender. Selain itu, tidak ada penafsir yang benar-benar objektif. Secara tidak langsung, dia termasuk dalam pernyataan penafsir yang tidak benar-benar objektif. Ia mengusulkan metode holistik untuk meminimalisir subjektivitas dan egoisme penafsir yang berlebihan dalam memahami teks, khususnya masalah gender. Hermeneutika berdiri di atas analisis bahasa, sejarah, dan kontekstualisasi. Hermeneutika Amina dipengaruhi oleh pemikiran Fazlur Rahman dan Gadamer.

Abstract

In addition to containing teachings on faith, worship, and morals, the Quran also presents stories that have educational, persuasive, and transformative functions for human life. These stories are not intended as historical writing in the chronological sense, but rather as a means of preaching to provide guidance, warnings, and admonition. This study aims to examine the meaning, existence, scope, and characteristics of stories in the Quran, focusing on the nature of the stories, their types, their constituent elements, and the purpose of their presentation. This study uses a structural-semiotic approach and structural-functional analysis, placing Quranic verses containing stories as the main text of the study. The results of the discussion indicate that Quranic stories are true events and contain key narrative elements in the form of events, characters, and dialogue, presented in a sophisticated style and rich with symbolic meaning. These stories serve to reinforce religious values, clarify the principles of da'wah (Islamic propagation), provide moral examples, and strengthen belief in the truth of the Quranic message. Thus, the study of Quranic stories is not only important from a religious perspective but is also relevant in literary and linguistic studies as a manifestation of the miraculous nature of the Quranic language. ملخص يحتوي القرآن الكريم، بالإضافة إلى تعاليمه في الإيمان والعبادة والأخلاق، على قصص ذات وظائف تعليمية وإقناعية وتغييرية في حياة الإنسان. هذه القصص ليست سردًا تاريخيًا بالمعنى الزمني، بل هي وسيلة للدعوة والتوجيه والتحذير والنصح. تهدف هذه المقالة إلى دراسة معنى القصص في القرآن الكريم، ووجودها، ونطاقها، وخصائصها، مع التركيز على طبيعتها، وأنواعها، ومكوناتها، والغاية من عرضها. يستخدم هذا البحث المنهج السيميائي البنيوي والتحليل الوظيفي البنيوي، مع اعتبار آيات القرآن الكريم التي تتضمن قصصًا النص الرئيسي للدراسة تشير نتائج المناقشة إلى أن القصص القرآنية أحداثٌ حقيقية، وتحتوي على عناصر سردية أساسية في شكل أحداث وشخصيات وحوار، مُقدَّمة بأسلوبٍ راقٍ وغني بالمعاني الرمزية. تُسهم هذه القصص في ترسيخ القيم الدينية، وتوضيح مبادئ الدعوة، وتقديم الأمثلة الأخلاقية، وتعزيز الإيمان بصدق رسالة القرآن. لذا، فإن دراسة القصص القرآنية لا تقتصر أهميتها على الجانب الديني فحسب، بل تتعداه إلى الدراسات الأدبية واللغوية، باعتبارها تجليًا لطبيعة اللغة القرآنية العجيبة. Abstrak Al-Qur’an selain memuat ajaran akidah, ibadah, dan akhlak, juga menyajikan kisah-kisah yang memiliki fungsi edukatif, persuasif, dan transformatif bagi kehidupan manusia. Kisah-kisah tersebut tidak dimaksudkan sebagai penulisan sejarah dalam arti kronologis, melainkan sebagai sarana dakwah untuk memberikan petunjuk, peringatan, dan i‘tibar. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji makna, eksistensi, cakupan, serta karakteristik kisah dalam Al-Qur’an dengan menitikberatkan pada hakikat kisah, jenis-jenis kisah, unsur-unsur pembentuk, serta tujuan penyajiannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan struktural semiotik dan analisis struktural fungsional dengan menempatkan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang mengandung kisah sebagai teks utama kajian. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa kisah Al-Qur’an merupakan peristiwa yang benar-benar terjadi dan memiliki unsur-unsur naratif utama berupa peristiwa, tokoh, dan dialog, yang disajikan dengan gaya bahasa tinggi dan sarat makna simbolik. Kisah-kisah tersebut berfungsi untuk meneguhkan nilai-nilai keimanan, memperjelas prinsip-prinsip dakwah, memberikan keteladanan moral, serta memperkuat keyakinan terhadap kebenaran risalah Al-Qur’an. Dengan demikian, kajian terhadap kisah Al-Qur’an tidak hanya penting dari perspektif keagamaan, tetapi juga relevan dalam kajian sastra dan linguistik sebagai wujud kemukjizatan bahasa Al-Qur’an.
