Abstract

Children's delays in speaking are influenced by two factors; genetics and environment. Environmental factors can be overcome with learning therapy using the storytelling method. The habit of telling stories provides strong stimulation to stimulate children to participate in conversations consistently. The research process was carried out by looking at the learning process of early childhood using the storytelling method. What the teacher does is fully supported by the school principal and education staff to jointly develop the habit of telling stories for children with special needs who are delayed in speaking. The research results show an increase in vocabulary and sentences in the last few months. Greetings, greetings and responsiveness have begun to appear, although the development is not consistent. Counting twice a week, speech-delayed children show interest and come up with new vocabulary which is an emphasized storytelling activity. Sometimes there is no vocabulary development in a whole week.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Masyarakat ini adalah “Pelatihan Dan Pendampingan Guru Dalam Pemanfaatan Microsoft Office 365 Sebagai Media Pembelajaran Pada Masa Pendemi Covid-19”. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan membantu para guru dalam pemanfaatan Microsoft Office 365 sebagai media pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar peserta didik selama pembelajaran di masa pendemi Covid-19. Pertimbangan dalam memilih guru SD dan SMP di wilayah Tanggerang Selatan untuk menjadi peserta pelatihan dan pendampingan program pengabdian ini adalah kurangnya pemanfaatan microsoft office 365 dalam proses pembelajaran pada masa pandemi Covid 19. Metode yang dilakukan pada kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah 1) persiapan, 2) pelaksanaan serta, 3) evaluasi. Kegiatan ini dapat dikatakan berhasil, hal ini dikarenakan program pelatihan mendapatkan hasil perubahan nilai pre test dan post test dari masing masing program pelatihannya. Rata rata nilai post test dari masing masing kegiatan pelatihan di atas indikator keberhasilannya yaitu 75 %.

Abstract

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was initially recognized as a respiratory illness; however, it has been gradually recognized as a disease that affects multiple organ systems, including the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. GI involvement ranges from mild symptoms, such as nausea and diarrhea, to complications like gastrointestinal bleeding. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has been proposed as a simple biomarker of inflammation and disease severity in COVID-19.Objective: To describe gastrointestinal manifestations of COVID-19 and examine the association between NLR levels and occult gastrointestinal bleeding.Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2021 at the New-Emerging and Re-Emerging Infectious Diseases inpatient unit of Dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. COVID-19-positive patients aged ≥18 years with gastrointestinal symptoms were included, excluding those who were pregnant or had pre-existing GI disorders. Data were collected from medical records and patient interviews. Statistical analysis was performed using the Mann–Whitney U test, with p < 0.05 considered significantResults: The most frequent symptoms were appetite loss and nausea (93%), bloating and vomiting (87%), and diarrhea (57%). Occult GI bleeding occurred in seven patients (23.3%) who had significantly higher NLR values than those without bleeding (p = 0.041).Conclusion: The most frequent GI manifestations of COVID-19 are loss of appetite, nausea, bloating, vomiting, and diarrhea, while occult gastrointestinal bleeding occurs in about one-fourth of cases. Elevated NLR levels are associated with occult bleeding, suggesting its potential role as a simple and accessible biomarker of intestinal inflammation and disease severity.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Cedera kaki merupakan salah satu risiko yang sering dialami oleh runners. Pemahaman runners tentang teknik dan waktu penggunaan kompres dingin dan kompres hangat untuk mengatasi cedera masih bervariasi. Pemahaman para runners yang bervariasi ini dapat berisiko terhadap penanganan cedera yang tidak tepat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan runners terhadap teknik kompres dalam mengatasi cedera kaki di Stadion Lambung Mangkurat.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kuantitatif. Sebanyak 133 responden dipilih menggunakan accidental sampling. Kuesioner tingkat pengetahuan berjumlah 12 item meliputi aspek indikasi, waktu penggunaan, teknik dan cara aplikasi yang benar, keamanan dan risiko serta efektivitas dan tujuan kompres digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil uji validitas > 0,361 dan reliabilitas 0,640. Data dianalisis secara univariat.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar berjenis kelamin laki-laki (58,6%), berusia 18-35 tahun (82,7%), dengan pendidikan terakhir SMA (66,2%). Hasil analisa pengetahuan  sebagian besar responden berada dalam pengetahuan cukup (54,9%).Kesimpulan: Sebagian besar tingkat pengetahuan runners terhadap teknik kompres dingin dan kompres hangat dalam mengatasi cedera kaki kategori cukup. Disarankan runners memilih teknik pertolongan pertama yang tepat, termasuk indikasi dan waktu penggunaan kompres dingin maupun hangat.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the trend in the use and effectiveness of video tutorials as a practical learning medium in various educational contexts. This literature review examines recent scientific publications (journals, proceedings, books) to investigate the trends, benefits, constraints, and research findings surrounding the effectiveness of video tutorials in improving the mastery of practical skills. A systematic literature review method was used to collect, filter, and analyze relevant studies published in recent years. The analysis results indicate an increasing trend in the use of video tutorials in practical learning, aligning with technological advancements and the growing demand for flexible and visual learning methods. Various studies report the effectiveness of video tutorials in improving conceptual understanding, procedural demonstrations, psychomotor skills, and student learning independence. However, several challenges, such as video production quality, limited direct interaction, and potential procrastination, were also identified. It is concluded that video tutorials are a potential and effective medium for practical learning. However, their implementation requires careful planning, appropriate instructional design, and integration with other learning strategies to achieve optimal results. Recommendations for further research and learning practices are also discussed.

Abstract

Obesity was one of the public health challenges that continued to increase globally, including in Indonesia. Innovative efforts in the development of functional foods were required to support the prevention and management of obesity, one of which was through probiotic yoghurt products. Sargassum sp., a type of brown seaweed rich in fiber and bioactive compounds such as fucoidan and fucoxanthin, had potential as an additive in yoghurt. This study aimed to characterize the physicochemical properties of yoghurt enriched with Sargassum sp., including fat content, protein content, and pH. The yoghurt was formulated with varying concentrations of Sargassum sp. (0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%) and analyzed using standard laboratory methods. The results showed that the addition of Sargassum sp. significantly increased the fat and protein content of the yoghurt, but did not provide a significant difference in pH value. These findings indicated that Sargassum sp. had potential to be used as a plant-based fortificant in the development of functional yoghurt with high nutritional value.

Abstract

Kanker paru adalah tumor ganas paru yang berasal dari saluran napas atau epitel bronkus, yang ditandai dengan pertumbuhan sel yang tidak normal. Tatalaksana kanker paru mencakup beberapa metode, seperti kemoterapi, pembedahan, dan radioterapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kreatinin klirens sebelum dan sesudah dikemoterapi pada pasien kanker paru di RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross – sectional. Sebanyak 30 pasien kanker paru di RSUD Arifin Achmad yang dipilih sebagai koresponden dan diperoleh dari hasil pemeriksaan laboratorium sebelum dan sesudah kemoterapi . Uji normalitas data menggunakan uji shapiro wilk dengan hasil p value = < 0.05 yang menunjukkan bahwa data tidak berdistribusi normal. Hubungan antara kreatinin klirens sebelum dan sesudah kemoterapi dianalisis menggunakan korelasi pearson, dengan nilai r = 0.412 yang menunjukkan hubungan sedang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya penurunan dan peningkatan kadar kreatinin klirens pada pasien kanker paru yang sudah melakukan kemoterapi. berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan rata -rata kadar kreatinin klirens sebelum kemoterapi 100.07 mL/min, dan sesudah kemotherapy yaitu 104.01 mL/min. Terdapat perbedaan antara kreatinin klirens sebelum dan sesudah kemoterapi.

Abstract

In the competitive service industry, digital transformation of booking management systems has become essential for maintaining customer loyalty. However, many enterprises still rely on manual methods that result in high latency, queue congestion, and imbalanced technician workloads. This study aims to address these inefficiencies by implementing the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm within a web-based service booking system architecture. PSO, a metaheuristic algorithm inspired by the social behavior of animal swarms, is employed to search for globally optimal solutions in a multidimensional search space. The algorithm is configured with 20 particles, a maximum of 100 iterations, and parameters c1 = 2.0, c2 = 2.0, and w = 0.7 to minimize cumulative customer waiting time while balancing technician task allocation based on technician availability, service duration, and operational hour constraints (08:00–16:00). Empirical testing demonstrated significant improvements in operational performance. Prior to optimization, the total customer waiting time over a three-day observation period reached 380 minutes. Following PSO implementation, waiting time was drastically reduced to 150 minutes, representing a 60.53% reduction (230 minutes saved). These findings confirm that the PSO approach not only delivers rapid and adaptive solutions to real-time data fluctuations but also enhances operational system scalability. This research provides a practical contribution for service management system developers seeking to integrate computational intelligence into the optimization of complex business processes.

Abstract

Metodologi riset ini diaplikasikan guna menelaah bagaimana karakteristik entitas memberikan dampak terhadap Pengungkapan Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Temuan Utama menunjukkan bahwa umur perusahaan dan kepemilikan manajerial memperlihatkan dampak substansial pada pengungkapan CSR, sementara profitabilitas dan leverage ditemukan tidak memberi dampak yang bermakna. Selain itu, ukuran perusahaan sebagai variabel kontrol serupa halnya tidak menunjukkan kontribusi yang berarti. Implikasi teori dan kebijakan dari penelitian ini memberikan wawasan baru berkenaan dengan elemen-elemen yang memberikan kontribusi terhadap transparansi pada penerapan kewajiban sosial. Aspek novelti dari studi ini adalah penempatan ukuran perusahaan sebagai variabel kontrol, bukan variabel independen.

Abstract

The prevalence of obesity in Indonesia remains high, reaching 18.8% among the elderly and continuing to rise, particularly in the 55–64 year age group. With more than one billion people worldwide living with obesity, understanding obesity patterns at the local level is increasingly important. This study aims to describe the distribution of obesity cases among elderly individuals at Puskesmas Bukitsangkal during 2024, provide a comprehensive overview of elderly obesity to support more effective prevention and management programs, and address gaps identified in existing literature. This research employed an observational design with a cross sectional approach conducted at the Bukitsangkal Health Center, Palembang, from January to December 2024. The study population included all elderly individuals registered and receiving health services in accordance with Minimum Service Standards at the health center. Data were obtained from elderly medical records containing demographic characteristics and obesity status. The main outcome showed that 23.1% of elderly individuals were classified as obese, with a higher proportion observed among women compared to men. The findings also demonstrated notable variation in the monthly distribution of obesity cases. Unexpected results included an increase in morbidity during May and a shift in morbidity patterns between genders in several months. Overall, this study enhances understanding of obesity among the elderly by illustrating its distribution and highlighting factors that may influence prevalence. The findings emphasize the need for targeted health interventions and the development of more effective obesity prevention strategies. Future research should examine diet, physical activity, and socioeconomic factors in elderly.
