Abstract

In learning mathematics so far, low-vision students only use ordinary braille books. The use of this braille book cannot help students to know the real shape of the object being studied. One form of updating teaching materials for low-vision students is the use of 3D media contained in teaching materials. The objectives of this service activity are: (1) Provide knowledge about teaching materials needed for low vision students, (2) Provide assistance to teachers at SLB Negeri Metro in using 3D Braille mathematics teaching materials, and (3) Provide knowledge of making 3D media on teaching materials braille math. The form of activity provided in this activity is in the form of assistance in the use of 3D Braille mathematics teaching materials. From this activity, the teacher gains knowledge about: (1) how to prepare teaching materials, (2) preparation of learning tools, (3) the use of mathematics teaching materials, and (4) the use of 3D braille mathematics teaching materials. The understanding obtained by the teacher after participating in this service activity was: (1) 100% for the preparation of teaching materials and the use of 3D Braille mathematics teaching materials, (2) 96% for the preparation of learning tools and the use of mathematics teaching materials. Before the activity was held, the teacher only knew about the usual use of braille teaching materials and had some obstacles in compiling independent teaching materials. After this activity, the teacher became more aware of how to use Braille mathematics teaching materials, which could be accompanied by 3D media to make it easier for low-vision students to understand. In addition, teachers also understand more about how to compile teaching materials and learning tools.Keywords: accompaniment; braille;teaching materialAbstrakDalam pembelajaran matematika selama ini, siswa low vision hanya menggunakan buku braille biasa. Penggunaan buku braille ini tidak dapat membantu siswa untuk mengetahui bentuk nyata dari benda yang dipelajari. Salah satu bentuk pembaruan bahan ajar bagi siswa low vision adalah penggunaan media 3D yang terdapat pada bahan ajar. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah: (1) Memberikan pengetahuan tentang bahan ajar yang dibutuhkan bagi siswa low vision, (2) Memberikan pendampingan guru di SLB Negeri Metro dalam menggunakan bahan ajar matematika braille 3D, (3) Memberikan pengetahuan pembuatan media 3D pada bahan ajar matematika braille. Bentuk kegiatan yang diberikan dalam kegiatan ini berupa pendampingan penggunaan bahan ajar matematika braille 3D. Dari kegiatan ini guru memperoleh pengetahuan tentang : (1) cara penyusunan bahan ajar, (2) penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, (3) penggunaan bahan ajar matematika, (4) penggunaan bahan ajar matematika braille 3D. Pemahaman yang diperoleh guru setelah mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian ini sebesar : (1) 100 % untuk materi penyusunan bahan ajar dan penggunaan bahan ajar matematika braille 3D, (2) 96% untuk materi penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran dan penggunaan bahan ajar matematika. Sebelum diadakan kegiatan, guru hanya mengetahui penggunaan bahan ajar braille secara biasa dan memiliki beberapa hambatan dalam menyusun bahan ajar mandiri. Setelah adanya kegiatan ini, guru menjadi lebih mengetahui dalam menggunakan bahan ajar matematika braille dapat disertai media 3D agar lebih mudah dipahami oleh siswa low vision. Abstract

This research aimed to produce a product based on Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) biology questions with the Quizizz application for the human digestive system. This type of research was development research that used the 4D Thiagarajan method. The stages of this research method include define, design Develop, and Disseminate. The development stage contains validation and revision. Validation carried out included validation of design experts (by 2 lecturers), and an expert validation of HOTS questions (by 1 lecturer and 1 teacher). Validation was carried out to see the feasibility of the product before being tested on students in small group trials. The results of the study stated that the development of Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS)-based biology questions with the Quizizz application for the human digestive system material was declared eligible to be used with a very good category based on the design display was 86%, the substantial component of the HOTS question content 91.35% and student response questionnaires 90.5%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research development is to produce teaching material products in the form of interactive inquiry-based e-modules guided by addictive substances and psychotropic substances to assist the learning process. This type of research uses a 4-D development model consisting of 4 stages, namely define, design, development, and disseminate, the research is carried out only until the development stage. The interactive e-module is accessed via a google drive link. The development of interactive e-modules produced through the validation stages, namely validation of material experts, validation of design experts, and student response trials. Validation from material experts gets a percentage of 95%, for design experts scores a percentage of 95%, and student response trials are 93%. Based on the percentage obtained, this learning media is included in the "Very Good" category so that it is suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Developement of this teaching material produced products in the form of biology teaching materials in the form of learning comics, and comics as learning media based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This environmental pollution material was expected to help in the learning process and can motivate students to be more active in studying environmental pollution materials. Based on interviews with class X teachers of SMA Negeri 5 Metro regarding the learning media used. The class X teacher said that the problems experienced in the learning process were that there were still many students who got scores below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) of 60. The method used in development was the Research and Development (R&D) method with the model development with a 4-D model, there were“four stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The data from the material expert validation obtained a percentage value”of 84% with the "Very Good" criteria. Validation of the learning media obtained a percentage value of 93% with the "Very Good" criteria, in the small group trial the percentage value was 92.8% with the "Very Good" criteria. The results of students working on questions obtained a percentage value of 91%. Based on these criteria, it can be stated that the product developed was suitable for use.

Abstract

The purpose of this development research is to produce a product in the form of a discovery learning-based module with appropriate QR Code-assisted character values ​​so that it can be used by students and increase knowledge. This type of development research using 4D models initiated by Thiagarajan, Sammel and Sammel (1974). This 4D development model has four stages, namely define, design,develop and desseminate, but in development research it only reaches the develop stage. The product that has been developed by this researcher has been validated by design experts, getting a percentage of 93% with the "very good" criteria, material expert validation getting a presentation of 89% with the "very good" criteria, and small group trials getting a percentage of 82% with the "very good" criteria. ". Based on the results of expert validation and small group testing, the product that has been developed in the form of a module is suitable for use by students during the learning process

Abstract

The aims of this research was to develop on Encyclopedia of Spermatophyta Plants in Green Open Spaces in Metro City. Prodct testing for the benefit of the winder community the feasibility of the encyclopedia is tested by a validatorwho is lecturer at the University of Muhammadiyah Metro. The validation test was carried out by material expert and design expert, and a small group test was carried out. The material expert validation test got a result of 82,7% which means “very feasible” to use. Desaign expert validation test got 90% result which means “very feasible” to use. Small group test got a result 88,9% which means “very feasible” to use. The result of the development of the Spermatophyta plant encyclopedia are very suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the learning was conducted by online system. The objective of the research was to understand the commitments and preferences of students in online learning. A total of 516 students participated in filling out an online questionnaire. The data were analysed descriptively referring to the critical success factors (CSFs). Based on the research result, there were three most dominant obstacles, they were: i) Internet interference (42.71%); ii) Limited quota (24.49%); and iii) Other activities (22.92%). There were students who did not attend full-time (22.45%). The weak commitment was boredom (2.04%) and feeling that they understood the module (5.10%). There were students who do not study full-time, only filling out the attendance list (53.1%). A small number of students (2.04%) fill out the attendance list and upload assignments as a top priority. According to this research, 46.7% of students liked online learning and 39.7% did not like it. In addition, 42.83% of students were bored. It means that about 60% of saturation comes from like-dislike preferences. The remaining 40% are influenced by other factors. The students’ commitments and preferences are influenced by many factors. Those who force themselves to learn ineffectively will be at risk of learning loss.

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Pemberdayaan masyarakat di Desa Banjarrejo sebagai desa binaan dalam program pengembangan Desa Digital Sadar Sampah diawali dengan sosialisasi dan kerjasama antara Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro dengan pemerintah desa, program ini berfokus pada pengelolaan sampah berbasis teknologi dan partisipasi masyarakat. Sosialisasi dihadiri oleh berbagai kelompok masyarakat, termasuk ibu-ibu PKK/Kader Posyandu, pemuda desa, dan aparatur desa. Hasil dari analisis kesiapan masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas penduduk memiliki tingkat pendidikan setara SMA. Pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah tergolong baik. Kesadaran akan pentingnya pengelolaan sampah juga cukup tinggi. Skor yang baik dalam pemanfaatan teknologi menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memiliki kemampuan dan kenyamanan dalam menggunakan alat-alat teknologi. Kemampuan ini penting dalam program Desa Digital Sadar Sampah yang mengandalkan platform digital. Masyarakat juga menunjukkan tingkat peran komunitas yang baik, menandakan bahwa kolaborasi dan partisipasi dalam mencapai tujuan bersama terkait pengelolaan sampah dapat diandalkan. Kegiatan ini menunjukan bahwa Desa Banjarrejo memiliki landasan yang kuat untuk pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengembangan Desa Digital Sadar Sampah. Meskipun ada pemahaman dan keterampilan yang baik, edukasi dan dukungan terus diperlukan untuk memastikan keberhasilan dan keberlanjutan program ini. Dengan memanfaatkan potensi teknologi dan partisipasi masyarakat, Desa Banjarrejo memiliki peluang untuk menjadi contoh desa yang berkelanjutan dan sadar lingkungan melalui pengelolaan sampah yang efektif dan inovatif. Kata kunci : Desa binaan, Desa Banjarrejo, Desa Digital Sadar SampahABSTRACT Community empowerment in Banjarrejo Village is being fostered through the Garbage Awareness Digital Village development program. This initiative involves socialization and collaboration between the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) at Muhammadiyah Metro University and the village government. The primary focus of this program is on technology-driven waste management and community involvement. The socialization events have been attended by diverse community groups, including PKK/Posyandu cadres, village youth, and village officials. The findings from the analysis of community readiness indicate that the majority of the population has an education level equivalent to high school. The community's understanding and proficiency in waste management are commendable, and there is a notable level of awareness regarding the significance of waste management. The favorable score in technology utilization reveals the community's comfort and competence in utilizing technological tools. This skill is pivotal in the Waste Awareness Digital Village program, which heavily relies on digital platforms. Additionally, the community has displayed a high level of participation, demonstrating their eagerness for collaboration and joint efforts in achieving shared objectives, particularly concerning waste management. This program exemplifies that Banjarrejo Village possesses a strong foundation for community empowerment in the context of developing a Waste Aware Digital Village. However, continuous education and support are imperative to ensure the program's success and sustainability. By harnessing the potential of technology and active community involvement, Banjarrejo Village has the opportunity to serve as a model for sustainable, environmentally conscious villages through effective and innovative waste management practices.Keywords: Fostered Village, Banjarrejo Village, Waste-Aware Digital Village
