Abstract

Research sites in the Desa Lalang Kecamatan Medang Deras Kabupaten Batubara. This research was conducted from july until august 2015. The purpose of this study was to establish potential of area from the marine shrimp farming with mass balance method at Desa Lalang and estimation the carrying capacity of coastal waters of the pond effluent. The data required for analysis of mass balance models of carrying capacity was based on the total ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N) concentration in coastal waters. Carrying capacity of coastal waters of Desa Lalang Regency maximum pond area calculation may be developed for marine shrimp farming area of 110.733 hectares, this showed that the concentration of ammonia released by the pond had not an impact on the quality of coastal waters because the existing pond area was new opened an area of 100.032 hectars had not exceeded the carrying capacity of the mass balance. Utilization of the existing pond was exceeded carrying capacity then negative impact to coastal area and marine shrimp farming, so be needed to expand it in this area. Keywords: Carrying capacity, coastal area , marine shrimp farming, mass balance

Abstract

Anchovy Pekto is one of fish commodity that has high economic value in Medan, especially in Belawan. This type of fish is also in demand in the local market. So as fisherman of anchovies put Anchovy Pekto as a main target catch for their fishing. But, this activity has a negative impact to Anchovy Pekto population. This research was conducted in Belawan in June to August 2015, which aims to examine growth pattern, growth parameters, condition factor, and the rate of exploitation in order to provide appropriate management model for the fish resources. Primary data is total length and wet weight of 1137 samples of Anchovy pekto, whereas secondary data is the sea surface temperature data. The cohort length of fish is separated by Bhattacarya method in FISAT II software. Based on the estimation growth parameters by Von Bertalanffyin which the asymptotic length (L∞) = 7,04 cm, the growth coefficient (K) = 1,50 per year and the age at zero length (to) = -0,15 from the empiricalPauly’s method. Then the growth equation of Anchovy Pekto is Lt = 7,04 (1-e[-150(t+0,15]). The value of b obtained from the relations of weight- length Anchovy Pekto 2,975. Anchovy Pekto growth pattern is negative allometric with an equation growth W=0,007L2,975. the highest and the lowest valueof factor conditionare 0,53 and 1,86. the rate of total mortality (Z) Anchovy Pekto is 4,42 per year with natural mortality rate (M) 2,87 per year, and fishing mortality rate 1,54 per year so that the rate of exploitation is obtained with the amount 0,34 and the value of the exploitation rate does not exceed the optimum exploitation which is 0,5.Keywords: Anchovy Pekto, Long-weight, Pattern Of Growth, Factor Condition, Mortality.

Abstract

The Mangrove Crabs population is typically associated with good Mangrove forest, so habitat loss will have a serious impact on the Crabpopulation. One of the areas of Mangrove Crab catching in nature is theMangrove Area Waters of Jaring Halus Village. The purpose of this research was to know the relationship between the width of the carapace and the weight of theMangrove Crab (Scylla spp.) in Mangrove Waters of Jaring Halus Village,Langkat Regency, North Sumatera. This research was conducted in December 2016 - January 2017 with 3 catching stations using Bubu fishing equipment of 45 units. The catch was analyzed by simple linear regression W = a Lb. The number of Mangrove Crabs caught 178 heads consisting of 93 males and 85 females with sex ratio between male and female is 1 : 0,91. The carapace's width of caughtCaps ranged from 41 to 96 mm where the male carapace's width ranged from 41 - 90 mm, while the females ranged from 41 - 96 mm. Heavy Crab Mangrove  that caught ranged from 30-540 mm where the males ranged from 30 - 370 grams while the female 30-540 grams. Growth of male and female mangrove crabs is positive allometric (b > 3) which means more dominant weight accretion compared to long accretion. Keywords: Jaring Halus Village, Mangrove, Scylla spp.
