Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of multicultural education and Global Citizenship Education (GCED) in fostering solidarity, tolerance, and global peace at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid in Paiton, Probolinggo. The pesantren hosts students from diverse cultural, ethnic, religious, and national backgrounds, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The research employs a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies involving various research subjects, namely the pesantren leadership, teaching staff, guardians, and students. The collected data are analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's data analysis techniques, which involve data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the implementation of multicultural education and GCED at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid has successfully created an inclusive environment where students learn to appreciate differences and develop solidarity among themselves. Cultural attribution, the internalization of multicultural values, and behaviors supporting diversity have been applied in the students' daily activities through various programs such as cultural discussions, communal work projects, and social activities. However, challenges such as inter-ethnic conflicts and bullying persist, requiring more effective policies and approaches for resolution. In conclusion, the implementation of multicultural education and GCED at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid has had a positive impact in strengthening solidarity, tolerance, and peace among students. However, for the sustainability and development of this program, continuous evaluation and improvement are necessary, as well as increased collaboration among stakeholders to create a generation that is not only sensitive to diversity but also actively contributes to global peace and well-being

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam implementasi nilai-nilai filsafat pendidikan Islam dalam pembelajaran tahfidzul Qur’an di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) An Nuur Jatikuwung. Fokus utama kajian ini adalah bagaimana nilai-nilai dasar dalam filsafat pendidikan Islam—yakni ubudiyah (penghambaan kepada Allah), khalifah (kepemimpinan), ahsan (optimalisasi amal), adil (keadilan), dan mas’uliyah (tanggung jawab)—diaktualisasikan dalam strategi pembelajaran, manajemen kurikulum, serta pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode observasi lapangan pada proses pembelajaran tahfidzul Qur’an dan wawancara mendalam kepada dua guru tahfidz dan kepala madrasah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai tersebut tidak hanya menjadi landasan konseptual dalam dokumen kelembagaan, tetapi telah diinternalisasi dalam budaya pembelajaran yang humanis, spiritual, dan berorientasi pada karakter. Model pembelajaran tahfidzul Qur’an di MI An Nuur menjadi bukti bahwa integrasi antara filsafat pendidikan Islam dan praktik pedagogik dapat mewujudkan pendidikan yang komprehensif, kontekstual, dan transformatif.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools as the oldest Islamic educational institutions which are considered traditional and which are considered closed to innovation. However, they must be ready to face the challenges of the times and are required to develop the potential of students with the power of knowledge and technology through cultural management at Islamic boarding schools to increase the intelligence of students at Roudlotut Tholibin Sirau Islamic Boarding School, Kemranjen, Banyumas. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through documentation, observation, interviews. From this study, the results were obtained that in an effort to improve the three intelligences (intellectual, emotional, and spiritual) which are carried out continuously and consistently through formal education in Islamic boarding schools with good management with a benchmark of success, namely alumni continuing their studies at tertiary institutions both in country or abroad. Abstract

Qiyam al-Lail is the plural form of the word (idafah) in Arabic consisting of words and Qiyam al-Lail, whose meaning is the popularity of evening prayer. Qiyam al-Lail itself is a prayer which is done at night until dawn with nature, kaifiyat and certain cycles in accordance with the guidance of Allah and His Messenger. Qiyam al-Lail Included is the Witr prayer, praying tahajjud and tarawih prayers. Advocated Prophet Qiyam al-Lail implement, because the night prayer there are many benefits, among them draw closer to God Almighty, eraser ugliness and prevention of acts of sin. In addition, the evening prayer is also a major prayer after the obligatory prayer, where the presence of God in the middle of the night closer to his servant. This paper attempts to describe a comprehensive understanding of Qiyam al-Lail "style" of the Prophet Muhammad.

Abstract

This study develops an Integrated Educational Management Model for Bullying Prevention (IEMMBP) in Indonesian pesantren through a grounded theory approach, with a focus on community resilience and collective healing as culturally embedded mechanisms of protection and recovery. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, focus group discussions, and document analysis across four pesantren representing diverse governance structures in Java and Madura. The analysis followed Strauss and Corbin’s coding procedures—open, axial, and selective—supported by constant comparative analysis until theoretical saturation was achieved. The findings reveal that bullying prevention in pesantren is most effective when institutional management, spiritual authority, and communal practices are integrated into a single governance ecosystem. Three core theoretical categories emerged: (1) institutional integration as the structural foundation of prevention, (2) community resilience as a protective social mechanism, and (3) collective healing as a transformational process of recovery and reintegration. The resulting model reframes bullying not merely as individual misconduct, but as a disruption of moral order and collective dignity that requires restorative, not solely punitive, solutions. The study contributes to educational management, resilience theory, and Islamic education studies by offering a non-Western, community-based alternative to conventional anti-bullying frameworks. It also provides practical implications for pesantren policymakers, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Southeast Asian boarding school systems seeking culturally grounded, trauma-informed strategies for student wellbeing and institutional safety.

Abstract

Perkembangan moral agama sangat erat kaitanya dengan budi pekerti, sopan santun dan kemauan melaksanakan ajaran agama dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Agama merupakan pokok pondasi paling awal dalam menanamkan rasa keimanan pada diri anak. Dalam agama terdapat dua unsur yang sangat penting yaitu keyakinan dan tatacara yang keduanya tidak dapat dipisahkan.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah ingin mengkaji Untuk mengetahui penerapan perkembangan moral pada anak di  SD Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Kraksaan Kraksaan. Untuk mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pembiasaan membaca surat-surat pendek dalam mengembangkan moral pada anakdi   SD Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah Kraksaan Kraksaan. Peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata hasil peserta didik dan prosentase ketuntasan belajar peserta didik secara klasikal. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata hasil belajar peserta didik adalah 68 dengan prosentase ketuntasan belajar sebesar 68 %. Sedangkan pada siklus II nilai rata-rata peserta didik meningkat menjadi 87 dengan prosentase ketuntasan belajar mencapai 95%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa metode Active Interaction dan Conditioning (pembiasaan) dalam membaca surat-surat pendek dalam Al-Qur’an terbukti dapat meningkatkan moral peserta didik. Faktor yang menghambat adalah anak merasa bosan dengan pengulangan surat-surat yang di baca, sementara yang mendukung adalah motivasi dan inovasi-inovasi baru dari pendidik.

Abstract

This study aims to thoroughly examine the relationship between work motivation and employee competence on job performance, while also exploring the role of leadership as a moderating variable in this relationship. The research focuses on how individual internal factors—namely motivation and competence—contribute to achieving optimal performance, and the extent to which leadership can strengthen the influence of these two variables. A quantitative approach with a descriptive and explanatory design was employed to provide a comprehensive overview and to test the causal relationships among variables. The research subjects included all employees of MTS Nurul Falah Kemuning and MTS Nurul Falah Gosali, totaling 88 individuals. A census sampling technique (total sampling) was applied, in which the entire population was used as the sample. Data collection and analysis were conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach, utilizing SmartPLS software to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the analysis. The findings reveal that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, indicating that enthusiasm and intrinsic drive play a crucial role in enhancing productivity and achieving performance targets. Similarly, employee competence was found to have a significant positive influence on performance, suggesting that skills, knowledge, and technical abilities are essential for effective task execution. The moderation analysis further indicates that leadership enhances the impact of both motivation and competence on performance, although the moderating effect is relatively modest. Overall, the study underscores that performance improvement is not solely dependent on individual factors, but also significantly influenced by the quality of leadership within the organizational environment.

Abstract

Islam and civilization constitute an inseparable unity, as from its very emergence Islam has brought a civilizational concept and mission rooted in dîn (religion) grounded in divine revelation, so that Islamic civilization is known as tamaddun or madaniyyah. Building on this view, this article aims to explicate in detail the meaning and concept of civilization, to compare Western and Islamic civilizations, and to explain the nature of Islam as religion, revelation, thought, and civilization on the basis of reliable historical evidence. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method grounded in literature review and philosophical–historical analysis of key civilizational concepts within both Western and Islamic traditions. The findings show that Islamic civilization is rooted in revelation and historically embodied, among others, through the experience of Madinah as the initial locus for articulating Islamic tamaddun, whereas modern Western civilization tends to be built upon the centrality of human reason and subjectivity, giving rise to the dominance of a secular–cognitive civilization. This comparative analysis underscores the fundamental distinctions between the two, while simultaneously offering a critique of the hegemony of modern Western civilization that tends to neglect the dimensions of revelation and transcendence. The study concludes that, from an Islamic perspective, human reason and intellect should ideally operate in harmony with revelation, and that Islam has historically shaped world civilization for centuries, thereby offering an alternative paradigm for developing a civilization that more evenly balances spiritual, moral, and rational dimensions.

Abstract

The concept of the soul and Islamic ethics according to Imam Al-Ghazali is highly relevant to the formation of human personality, particularly in the context of character education in the modern era. This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of Al-Ghazali’s structure of the soul, which encompasses the faculties of reason, anger, and desire, and to explain how these three are refined and balanced through Islamic ethics to produce a mature and moral personality, while also elucidating Al-Ghazali’s contribution to the development of akhlak and contemporary character education. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, drawing primarily on Al-Ghazali’s major works such as Ihya’ Ulumuddin, Mizan al-‘Amal, and Kimya’ al-Sa‘adah, which are further enriched by secondary literature in the form of journals, books, and previous studies on Islamic ethics and psychology. The analysis shows that, in Al-Ghazali’s view, the human soul contains both good and bad potentials that must be directed through the purification of the heart (tazkiyah al-nafs) and the control of base desires, with Islamic ethics functioning as a practical guide for shaping behavior through moral training, habituation to virtuous deeds, and the purification of intention. Personality formation is understood as a spiral process that requires continuous balance among spiritual, intellectual, and emotional potentials. These findings affirm that Al-Ghazali’s thought is highly relevant to contemporary character education because it emphasizes the integration of moral and spiritual dimensions as the foundation of personality, thereby offering an important contribution to efforts to cultivate individuals who are morally upright, wise, and emotionally stable.

Abstract

Islamic philosophy functions not only as an intellectual apparatus but also as a practical guide in everyday life, in which Al-Kindi’s contribution occupies an important position as a bridge between the tradition of Greek philosophy and the Islamic thought that developed in the Arab world. This article aims to identify Al-Kindi’s philosophy of life and analyze its relevance in the context of contemporary plural societies by examining how his ideas can be applied to build morality and ethics in diverse communities. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, drawing on relevant journal articles and books concerning Al-Kindi’s thought on Islamic ethics. The findings indicate that Al-Kindi’s contribution to Islamic ethics is highly significant and provides a strong foundation for the subsequent development of Islamic philosophical thought, particularly through his exposition of the relationship between God, human beings, and the universe as a comprehensive ethical basis. The significance of his views lies in their capacity to integrate Islamic teachings with classical Greek philosophy and in his emphasis on the role of education in shaping individual character and morality. This study concludes that Al-Kindi’s ethical thought is highly relevant in the modern era, particularly as a conceptual framework for strengthening public ethics and serving as a bridge for interreligious and intercultural dialogue within plural societies.
