Abstract

Students generally feel anxious when they are going to do or to anticipate an important task, i.e. speaking in public. Normally, students overcome the feeling of anxiety by trying to calm down, and they believe that this strategy was the best way to reduce anxiety before doing a task (pre-performance anxiety). Several previous studies show that the best alternative way for reducing anxiety is not by calming down, but by reappraising the physiological reaction of anxiety as a feeling of pleasure that arises from doing an enjoyable task as excitement. Individuals who reassess this experience, have better performance and lessen anxiety than individuals who try to calm down. In this study, participants will be trained to change their physical assessment of anxiety-provoking situations, by repeating the phrase "I'm excited", or by reading a short message "go for it!" which makes them feel excited (more excited) when they are about to start a task. The current research shows that there a slight decrease in participants anxiety after 1 week. This finding supports the previous research that anxious and excitement emotions are characterized by high arousal; therefore, it is better to change judgement of these emotion instead of trying to change arousal from high to low. Changing judgments is much easier for individuals, and consequently, this will also affect performance (public presentation).

Abstract

Rapid technological integration in education often triggers psychological pressure among teachers, known as technostress. This study examines the mediating role of self-efficacy in the relationship between Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and technostress. Using a quantitative survey design, data were collected from 180 public high school teachers in Makassar through cluster random sampling. Instruments included the Technostress Scale, POS Scale, and Self-Efficacy Scale, with mediation analysis performed using Hayes’ PROCESS Model 4. The results indicate that self-efficacy fully mediates the relationship between POS and technostress ($b = -0.1024, 95\% \text{ CI } [-0.1797, -0.0414]$). Higher POS enhances teachers' self-efficacy, which in turn significantly reduces technostress levels. These findings highlight self-efficacy as a crucial psychological mechanism in managing digital adaptation. This study contributes to the literature on teacher well-being by emphasizing the importance of organizational support in fostering digital competence confidence. ABSTRAKIntegrasi teknologi yang masif dalam dunia pendidikan sering kali memicu tekanan psikologis pada guru yang dikenal sebagai technostress. Abstract

Central Sulawesi is one of Indonesia’s oil palm producing provinces, with a plantation area of 60,913.77 ha distributed across nine districts, including Morowali Regency. Various allegations that oil palm plantations are associated with a decline in biodiversity, particularly herpetofauna, have encouraged research on herpetofauna and mammals. This study aimed to determine the diversity of herpetofauna species in oil palm plantations in Morowali Regency at Ungkaya Village. The research sites included old oil palm plantations, young oil palm plantations, and areas with High Conservation Value (HCV). The distance between the old oil palm plantations and the young oil palm plantations was approximately ±4 km, while the distance from the old oil palm plantations to the HCV area was ±3 km, and from the young oil palm plantations to the HCV area was ±5 km. Data collection was conducted using the Visual Encounter Survey (VES) method combined with a 1 km transect at each land cover age. Observations were carried out between 19:00 and 21:00 WITA. The results showed that changes in land cover within oil palm plantations did not cause a reduction in the number of herpetofauna species. A total of 13 reptile and amphibian species were recorded across all land cover types. The species diversity and richness indices indicated moderate values (H′ = 2.32 and R = 2.47), suggesting that oil palm plantations can function as habitats for herpetofauna. The species evenness index value of 0.91 indicates that herpetofauna are able to inhabit oil palm plantations across all land cover ages.

Abstract

Indonesia has a high diversity of medicinal plants that are widely used in traditional healthcare practices. Identification of medicinal plants is commonly based on leaf morphology; however, similarities in leaf shape, texture, and color often cause misidentification, particularly among non-experts. This limitation highlights the need for an automated and reliable identification approach. The primary objective of this study is to develop and evaluate a deep learning–based system for the automatic identification of medicinal plants using leaf images, with a specific focus on comparing the performance and efficiency of MobileNetV2 and ResNet50V2 architectures. The research design adopts an experimental approach using an internally collected dataset of medicinal plant leaf images representing multiple plant classes. The dataset is divided into training and testing sets to evaluate model generalization. The methodology involves image preprocessing steps, including resizing, normalization, and data augmentation, followed by the application of transfer learning using MobileNetV2 and ResNet50V2 as feature extractors. Both models are trained under the same experimental settings and evaluated using standard classification metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and confusion matrix analysis. The main outcomes and results indicate that both deep learning models achieve high classification performance. MobileNetV2 achieves an accuracy of 98.77%, precision of 98.84%, recall of 98.77%, and F1-score of 98.77%, while ResNet50V2 achieves an accuracy of 97.53%, precision of 97.87%, recall of 97.53%, and F1-score of 97.58%. The results demonstrate that MobileNetV2 provides slightly superior performance with lower computational complexity. In conclusion, lightweight deep learning architectures such as MobileNetV2 are effective and efficient for medicinal plant leaf identification and are suitable for implementation in mobile or resource-constrained environments.

Abstract

History education plays an important role in developing students’ critical thinking skills, character, and national values. However, many students still perceive History as a difficult and less engaging subject because it often requires memorizing numerous facts, such as historical figures, dates, and events. This study aims to identify and describe the learning difficulties experienced by students and to analyze the factors contributing to these difficulties in the History subject at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Khairaat Ampibabo. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that students experienced difficulties in understanding materials that required extensive memorization, recalling historical figures, dates, and events, and maintaining concentration during lessons. Many students also demonstrated low interest in History because they considered the subject monotonous and overloaded with content. In addition, the midday class schedule often caused fatigue and drowsiness, while an unconducive classroom environment reduced students’ focus and participation. The study found that learning difficulties were influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors included low learning motivation, limited interest in the subject, and ineffective study habits. External factors consisted of limited variation in teaching methods, insufficient learning resources, and classroom conditions that did not adequately support effective learning.
