Abstract

Performance of broilers fed diets containing potassium diformate to replace flavomycinABSTRACT. The aim of this research was to study the effect of potassium-diformate (PD) on broiler performance. One hundred and twenty old chicks of Cobb strain were divided into fifteen groups and feed one of five treatments, namely: P1 (control diet), P2 (P1 + 0,5%PD), P3(P1 + 1%PD), P4 (P1 + 1,5%PD) and P5 (P1 + antibiotic). Data from Completely Randomized Design were analyzed by ANOVA and any significant among them were used contrast orthogonal test. Treatments did not impact on feed consumption, mortality and percentage of viscera, but the groups treated with 1 and 1.5% PD and flavomicyne antibiotic had significant improvement on body weight gain (P0.169) and feed efficiency (P0.05). It is concluded that addition of 1-1.5% potassium-diformate in the broilers diet could improve feed efficiency and replace flavomycine antibiotic as growth promotors without influencing the performance of viscera.

Abstract

This research identified the effects of foliar application of boron fertilization and arbuscular mycorrhiza in the form of cookies (Miko-SC) on the growth and seed production of Jack bean. Jack bean (Canavalia ensiformis) is a dual-purpose crop that produces seeds and green-biomass as a source of protein for human consumption and animal feed. Boron and Miko-SC significantly influences seed growth and development, and arbuscular mycorrhiza can enhance mineral uptake. This study employed four doses of boron foliar fertilizer (0, 23, 46, and 69 mg/l) and three diameters of Miko-SC (4, 5, and 6 cm). The highest values of plant height, stem diameter, and leaf size were observed in the combination of 46 mg/l boron and 5-cm Miko-SC. The highest number of leaves, pod weight, and grain weight were achieved at 23 mg/l boron combined with 6-cm Miko-SC. Conclusively, the optimal combination of boron and arbuscular mycorrhiza in the form of Miko-SC cookies significantly enhanced the growth of Jack bean, offering valuable insights into cultivation improvement as a forage and food crop.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Jack bean (Canavalia ensiformis L.) is a potential alternative protein source to replace soybean meal in local feed formulations. While jack beans are high in protein, their high levels of anti-nutritional factors limit their use. Identifying effective processing techniques to improve the quality of jack beans is therefore essential. This study examines the effects of incorporating soaked and peeled jack bean meal into broiler diets on internal organs, digestive organs, and intestinal villi morphology. The jack beans were processed by soaking for 3 hours, peeling, oven drying, and grinding into meal form. A completely randomized design was used, with three levels of processed jack bean inclusion (0% JBM0, 5% JBM5, and 10% JBM10), each replicated six times. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by a post hoc Tukey test for significant findings. The results indicated that soaking for 3 hours and peeling effectively lowered the hydrogen cyanide (HCN) content from 207.61 ppm to 51.21 ppm. The inclusion of processed jack bean meal had no significant impact (P>0.05) on internal organs, digestive tract organs, or intestinal villi morphology. These findings suggest that processed jackbean meal can replace soybean meal in poultry feed at levels up to 10% without adverse effects on internal organs.

Abstract

The effectiveness of the Copyright Law in dealing with the practice of spreading movie spoilers on TikTok social media, with a case study of the film Mencuri Raden Saleh. The phenomenon of movie spoilers on social media is a problem that impacts the economic and moral rights of creators of cinematographic works. This study uses a sociological, legal approach to understand the interaction of society with applicable legal norms. The study results indicate that TikTok's policies are not yet in line with copyright protection regulations in Indonesia, so copyright infringement in the form of spoilers and film piracy is still difficult to control. Although Law Number 28 of 2014 has provided legal protection for copyright holders, its implementation is still hampered by the nature of the complaint offense, which requires copyright owners to file a report first so that the legal process can run. In addition, the low public legal awareness of copyright is also a significant factor in the rampant practice of movie piracy on social media. Therefore, a more comprehensive regulatory update is needed, as increased supervision of digital platforms and wider socialization to raise public awareness of the importance of copyright protection in the digital era.

Abstract

The role of ijtihad and fatwa in Indonesia has undergone a transformation over time. This transformation is reflected in the adoption of several binding regulations (legal binding) based on the results of ijtihad and fatwas issued by competent authority institutions. This process reflects the evolution of the role of ijtihad and fatwa in forming the legal basis that applies, provides direction, and binds Indonesian society. This research is qualitative research with a normative legal approach accompanied by a literature review. The data analysis used is content analysis. The research findings show that the process of legalizing ijtihad and fatwa as binding rules is one option in responding to problems. However, not all of these efforts are able to provide comprehensive solutions to every problem, and sometimes they can even give rise to new debates and problems amidst the diversity of Indonesian society.

Abstract

Palm kernel cake (PKC), a by-product of the palm oil industry, is widely used in animal feed due to its economic value. Its utilization reduces the reliance on costly conventional feed ingredients, reducing production expenses and improving livestock efficiency. However, contamination with palm kernel shells remains a key challenge, as it reduces quality and nutritional value. Identifying PKC particle sizes and addressing inconsistencies caused by contamination is complex, requiring advanced computational solutions. This study focuses on classifying the PKC particle sizes -fine, medium and coarse - using image processing combined with machine learning. A sieve shaker is applied to separate particles by size distribution, and a classification model is developed with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) under a transfer learning framework, which is effective for limited datasets. Six CNN architectures, MobileNet, Xception, InceptionV3, ResNet-152, VGG16, and NasNetMobile, are tested in four-layer configurations to identify the optimal setup. The results show that the proposed approach can classify PKC particle sizes with high accuracy. Among the models tested, MobileNet provides the best performance, achieving 0.99 accuracy and 0.98 F1 score in the second variation experiment. These findings present a practical and cost-effective method for assessing the quality of PKC, supporting scalable applications in feed production. This approach not only improves the accuracy of the evaluation, but also contributes to efficiency and sustainability in the livestock industry.
